Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 20 and 15 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We've also been able to surf every month of the year! Although I'd recommend a wet suit Fall/Winter/Spring. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation.
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Owner chose Park Point
Actually the vacation home is Steve's first home. He spent much of his free time repairing/refinishing. It is furnished with antiques handed down in our family that Steve refinished. We were unable to part with it when we moved to our new home less than a mile away so we turned it into a vacation rental home in 2010.
What makes this Cottage unique
You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)! You are less than one mile away for the farthest inland port in the world. You are less than one mile away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port. Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on a island! Steve lived in this house for several years and knows you have great neighbors! If you want shopping, coffee, antiques they are less than 1 mile down the road over the Aerial Lift Bridge. You can also make the walk on sandy beach.

Absolutely loved this house! It was so welcoming and comfortable! The best time with family where we could just relax ,really visit, roll dice, eat together in the large dining room, walk the beach, shop. Better than a hotel! We had the best time! We were sad to leave here.
Beautiful, comfortable and restful
The cottage exceeded our expectations. The location was amazing for long walks along the beach, with easy access to town. The house itself was clean, quiet and cosy in every way. Highly recommended!
Fabulous & comfortable home to create lasting memories!
We spent 2 nights and 3 days at this amazing and comfortable home. The home had all the comforts and amenities of my home, including inviting furniture and updated kitchen appliances and washer and dryer. The kitchen was fully loaded with dishes, flatware, pots and pans, seasonings for food, Aluminum foil, cling wrap, napkins, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc. There was an extra large grill with all the grill tools on the large deck off of the kitchen and there was a back-up propane tank which was available if needed, and sure enough, we needed it. We loved the easy access to the beach and enjoyed collecting special rocks to remind us of our trip and we loved being able to take early morning walks on the beach. Loved the location of the home which was near the lift bridge and Canal Street. The beach house or cottage is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood. There were 4 nice bedrooms in the house that could easily sleep 7 people. We only had 4 people and used 3 bedrooms. The 4th bedroom is a child’s room that is very cute with a large chalkboard on the wall, an old desk that’s in excellent condition to play school and a book shelf with books and games. The basement had a foosball and ping pong table and a walk-in sauna. We wanted to use the sauna but ran out of time to do so. The house is very charming and I would return to stay without hesitation.
Perfect location just steps from the Park Point beach. We had a fun winter weekend dog sledding, ice skating at Bayfront Park, checking out the ice heaves, and cc skiing. The boys (9 and 7) loved the ping pong and foosball tables in the basement. Kitchen and family room are small but funtionally arranged. Older home with lots of character, tastefully decorated. Hosts were super easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!
The amenities were great. I especially loved the zoned heating. We would definitely come back again!
Cold but Comfortable
We stayed in this house on Park Point on a very cold weekend in january. The house could not have been nicer. Very warm fireplace, and comfortable rooms. We did a very little cooking and everything was there that we might have needed and more.
Heather was very helpful and responsive, couldn't have been nicer.
Water sports abound just out you door on the sandy shore of Lake Superior. Kite surfing, wind surfing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing all can be seen/enjoyed.
