About Lisa Bennett Stokes
This property has been in our family for decades. My brother was a great carpenter and artist and built this house with his own hands. It has many unique custom features and is a special place for our family and friends. We use the house whenever it is not rented. Skiing at Stratton / Magic in the winter or enjoying biking, hiking, swimming in the quarries and Farmer's Markets in the summer months.
Lisa Bennett Stokes purchased this House in 2007
Why Lisa Bennett Stokes chose South Londonderry
This wonderful Vermont house and 7 acre property is secluded, peaceful and relaxing yet close to everything, with Great Skiing, Golf, Hiking, Biking, and Manchester a short 20 minute drive. There is something for all seasons and a great change of pace from busy lives in NYC or Philadelphia.
What makes this House unique
Reading a book by the fire, shoveling off the pond with 4 friends to play pond hockey, cooking big meals with friends. Taking long walks with the dogs.

We enjoyed staying in this house with our 4 and 6 year olds. It was a perfect location to get them to their ski lessons at Stratton for a couple days while returning to a comfy home environment when we were all exhausted. While the property as a whole is one of the most peaceful places I’ve enjoyed, the house embraces the country VT feel we were looking for while providing all of the amenities needed to make you feel right at home. We will definately be returning and highly recommend!
Thank you Katie!!
Beautiful home in the Vermont mountains.
Absolutely loved this beautiful home. Filled with antiques it was the perfect setting to cozy up with a fire and a glass of wine. I would definitely return.. not only for a winter ski trip but it’s an all season home!
Thank you Gale! So glad it was a relaxing getaway for you and your family! Lisa
We loved Bennett Farm....a warm, comfortable and amazing home. Our family enjoyed skiing at Stratton, restaurants in Manchester and a visit to Vermont Country Store. It was a great to spend time with family and friends in such an inviting home.
Wonderful Robin and Jim! So glad the Bennett family enjoyed Bennett Farm:)
Thanks for the positive feedback! Lisa
Beautiful farmhouse with an awesome fireplace. Very tranquil.
Great farmhouse and tranquil setting for our family to enjoy over the holidays. Thank goodness for the cozy fire because it was freezing outside! Wonderful memories of our stay at the Bennett Farm.
Glad you and your family had a wonderful time and stayed warm, Beth!
The Bennett Farm is a beautifully maintained property in a great location! Cozy yet spacious, warm and welcoming, this gorgeous home will suit your every need. We enjoyed the views of the property while snuggled under warm blankets in the living room, relaxed for a good long soak in the master bath after a full of day of exploring, and slept like babies in the comfy bed.
The skilled craftsmanship and artist's eye is evident everywhere you look in the home. There are many custom features and details to appreciate...many little touches we hope to replicate in our home. The décor is lovely - comfortable furniture, splashes of tasteful color, and lots of interesting artwork to enjoy.
The Farm is close enough to great restaurants and towns to explore, yet far enough away to offer privacy and peace. We loved the beautiful Vermont scenery and enjoyed interacting with locals in the various towns we visited. Some standouts are The Garden Market, a health food store and café in Londonderry; Village Picture Shows in Manchester Center, a fun local movie theater; and Cilantro Restaurant in Manchester Center for quick and fresh burritos. We also found a fabulous quilt shop, Country Treasures, in Chester, where we met the owner and several other local quilters.
If you are hesitant to drive to Vermont from the Philadelphia or New York area, or if you are a train person (like we are), consider taking the Amtrak Vermonter to Brattleboro and arranging for an Enterprise car rental to meet you at the station. We had a delicious dinner at The Marina before heading to our home-away-from-home for the weekend. It was a great option we wanted to share for other enthusiasts!
The Bennett Farm exceeded our expectations in every way. It was an oasis, a destination, and an experience in and of itself. We would have been perfectly happy never leaving the property our entire stay. Our thanks for the family for sharing this gem, and we hope to return again!
What lovely comments, Casey! Thank you so much for all your great suggestions on exploring the surrounding area, as well. I might even try the train next time. So glad you enjoyed Bennett Farm! Lisa
One of our favorite vacation spots
I cannot say enough about this beautiful home and such a wondeful owner. This is the place to be for relaxation and peacefulness. The home is so cozy with the stone fireplace. The home truly has it all. We highly recommend the property. Simply amazing.
Thank you Kelly! I know that you and Tom treated our family's house with care and respect, and we are so appreciative of wonderful renters like you! Lisa
