We stayed here in late August. What a beautiful place! The house is roomy and cosy (for a Dutch person an important fact) located on a large gorgeously landscaped property. The house was also very well equipped with good cookware, a rare occurrence in a vacation rental. It is a great place to stay in both winter and summer. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back.

Perfect in Every Way
The house is beautiful. It is well equipped, tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished, perfectly sited, and designed well for gatherings of family and friends. It met all of our needs and enabled our family to enjoy one another's company in ways that have become too rare as we have spread across the country. We look forward to returning for other occasions.

Wonderful property
My family and I stayed at his property for a long ski weekend at Stratton. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Very homey. Great location-only 10 minutes to the base lodge at Stratton. Bedrooms downstairs good size and the master is huge. Nice large kitchen with new appliances and well stocked. Fireplace was wonderful after a day of skiing (-20 wind chill). Highly recommend!

Stay in Londonberry Home
Can't say enough about our stay in this beautiful home in a serene, picturesque setting! I didn't want to leave! Just what we needed after sightseeing all day to come home to a rustic farmhouse that looked and felt like home! The pond and back porch was so beautiful and peaceful.
Fireplace amazing! Bed was comfortable, kitchen well stocked, etc... I did give the houseplants a drink as they looked very parched.... :) Perfect time of year to visit too with the fall foliage peaking! I'd recommend staying here anytime!

Thank you Tracey - So glad that you had a wonderful time. It is a special place and we are always thrilled to have guests who enjoy it as much as we do! I hope you will find time for a return visit:) Lisa
Family of 6 adults & our little dog had a wonderful time together in this well laid out and well equipped home. We were able to have 3 people working remotely reliably and comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all our meals. Although spring came early to VT the scenery was beautiful and hiking provided a good alternative to skiing/sledding/skating. (Yak tracks very helpful!) Great features to the property were the pond out front, whirlpool tub & steamer shower in master bathroom and of course the stone fireplace. Would definitely return for another stay. Owner very responsive and timely with all correspondence.

Perfect NYC Escape
My wife and I rented this beautiful home from mid-Jan to mid-Feb. While the skiing conditions at nearby Stratton (~10-15 minute easy drive) weren't great due to lack of snow, we loved coming up every weekend because of this house. We brought our two dogs and they loved being able to run around outside - the home has a long private driveway and plenty of private property, so no risk of cars.
The house itself is much more spacious than the pictures would suggest, yet it gives off a very cozy feel. We found everything to be well stocked and the beds comfortable.
The owner Lisa was very accommodating and always prompt with replies if we ever had questions. She was also able to help arrange dog walking during the day while we went skiing.
We will definitely be back!

Thank you CJ! So glad you and your wife and dogs enjoyed our house and we look forward to having you all back. Wish I had a way of controlling the snowfall:)
Where to begin about Bennett Farm...From the moment I pulled up the driveway and saw the view of the pond with the house in the background, I was in love. The house is unique and beautiful with so many interesting things to look at and it’s also so comfortable. My dog Barney had the best time running around the yard and field and swimming in the pond. We brought an inflatable rowboat so we could just float on the pond and relax and it was so lovely. Lisa was a delight to communicate with, it was such a smooth process. We went to visit Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home, which was so beautiful in the mountains. This was such a peaceful vacation, we would all love to come back again. Thank you to Lisa for sharing your home!!

What a lovely review! Thank you so much Michelle - and so glad you all including Barney had a great time at Bennett Farm!
This place has clearly been a home for many years. Not sterile like many other places. Comfortable, warm, everything you might need is there. Well-stocked kitchen supplies, firewood, garage for car, etc. Master bath has a jacuzzi and a steam shower. I really enjoyed the steam.
We found it a great location for skiing, hiking, and exploring the area.
Wifi is slow, so don’t plan to hold Zoom meetings or stream movies, etc. I downloaded music to play as streaming was too slow. DirectTV works fine for live sports and traditional TV.

Great place to hiking trails nearby
Two primary conditions in looking for a vacation home in Vermont in the fall were country charm with modern amenities, and open space for dogs to run around. This home greatly exceeded our expectations.
The views from the home brought us peace and tranquility looking out onto the woods, the field, or the pond. The Jenn-Air gas range was a treat to use, and the kitchen was well stocked with basic necessities. The house was cozy and comfortable and wonderfully quiet.
We enjoyed walking out the front door down to the road that followed the river and continuing on that (dead end) road to a park. We discovered the trail in the park connected to other trails and a park that follow the river for many more miles. Most times on these trails we had the place to ourselves.
As much as the house is nicely located off the beaten path, it is situated not far by car to restaurants, quaint villages, and many more beautiful hiking trails (from flatlander to highlander). It was amazing to visit the Orvis flagship store in the nearby town of Manchester. The two Vermont Country Stores were not too far away.
We'll be sure to bring our bicycles the next time so we can cover more ground. The dogs (and us) can't wait to return.

Beautiful, spacious, private home - CLOSE to all!
My family and I rented this amazing home for a long-weekend getaway. Let me just say - the pictures do not do it justice. It is an absolutely stunning place to stay. It was everything we wanted our "Vermont Country Home" to be. The large kitchen (with all new appliances) and open floor plan allowed my husband and I to cook dinner while we entertained our guests. Afterwards, we all enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace - and all the wood we needed was ready for us, including extra on the screened-in porch.
The upstairs master bedroom also has a futon for extra sleeping space and there is AMPLE storage space for clothes, equipment, etc in all rooms. The upstairs master bathroom - with an awesome steam shower and soaking tub - were just what we needed to relax after a day of skiing.
You will need an AWD/4WD vehicle to access the property in the winter and spring. The road leading to the driveway is not paved - nor is the driveway itself. (But, really, I think unpaved roads outnumber paved roads in Vermont!)
The home is only about a 5-10 minute drive from Stratton and maybe 15 - 20 minutes to Mt. Snow. We skied almost every day we were there.
I cannot wait to rent this lovely home again next season!

Hi Andrea - Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a nice review!
We're so glad you liked our house so much!

Let's first start out with the best host EVER. Lisa was kind and attentive to every detail but she already had the place perfect so hit the easy button.
This home, made me feel at home. The charm and care of it was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and roomy and fun to cook in. It was sparkling clean upon arrival.
The livingroom and fireplace was so comfy and welcoming. There was plenty of wood already stocked up inside which was so thoughtful and more in the garage as needed. (The TV could be bigger lol but we didn't come there to watch TV so no skin in the game for us - well maybe hubby but not me lol)
The sunroom was awesome, we played cards in there and enjoyed the sound of the wind chimes and view of the pond and property.
The bedroom upstairs - wow, the bed was so comfortable it made it hard to get out of it in the morning but the shower steamroom and jacuzzi convinced me otherwise lol. There is plenty of storage area too!
I can't say enough about this property and we will be back for sure with the family! Thank you Lisa for sharing your home and story of it with us. God bless and we'll be back!
The perfect place to come 'home' to after skiing Stratton
Located just 10 minutes from the base of Stratton, this warm and inviting home full of character awaits! We absolutely loved our 5 night stay at Bennett Farm. The place was so clean upon arrival! Our favorite part was the fireplace which we used every single day since during our stay, VT was experiencing -2 degree temperatures... Tons of firewood was provided which made it so nice to not have to go back and forth to the store. The heat inside the home also worked excellent so we were always warm! The house is in a cute neighborhood, we felt very safe (even though this entire town is super safe to begin with). The home is on 7 acres of land which made for picturesque mornings after nightly snowfalls. The house has every possible cooking utensil, beer / wine openers, a lighter for the fireplace and candles, fresh linens for the beds, laundry pods, dish and hand soaps, shampoo / conditioner in the mini hotel-like bottles. Extras of everything - towels, dish towels, sheets, toilet paper, etc. The mudroom entrance had enough space to store ski boots, ski bags and and skis for the 5 of us. All appliances worked great, including the bluetooth stereo! We packed our own JBL and didn't end up needing it! The steam shower was the ultimate treat! Nothing better after a long day of skiing. This home was close to Underground Coffee which we frequented, as well as EquipSport which offered ski rentals at a discounted rate compared to renting at Stratton's base lodge. Driveway gets plowed when it snows, the garage kept our car snow free, and the care taker responded to our text within 5 minutes. Couldn't ask for a better experience! Warning on the wifi - it is SLOW. We found it to work best paired with our hotspot that we had on our iphone in the master bedroom near the desk. It's rural VT, so you can't expect the 5G super fast city-speed wifi...It worked fine for Zoom meeting calls - but it did freeze/delay 2-3 times within 30 min sessions. Tons of board games and puzzles at the house too - we loved playing Horseopoly by the fire! But it did take us until our last day to find the deck of cards in the coffee table drawer. Overall, LOVED our stay! Will be re-booking for next ski season!! Thank you Lisa for being a great and responsive host!!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Bennett Stokes
This property has been in our family for decades. My brother was a great carpenter and artist and built this house with his own hands. It has many unique custom features and is a special place for our family and friends. We use the house whenever it is not rented. Skiing at Stratton / Magic in the winter or enjoying biking, hiking, swimming in the quarries and Farmer's Markets in the summer months.
Why they chose this property
This wonderful Vermont house and 7 acre property is secluded, peaceful and relaxing yet close to everything, with Great Skiing, Golf, Hiking, Biking, and Manchester a short 20 minute drive. There is something for all seasons and a great change of pace from busy lives in NYC or Philadelphia.
What makes this property unique
Reading a book by the fire, shoveling off the pond with 4 friends to play pond hockey, cooking big meals with friends. Taking long walks with the dogs.
