Studio Apartment with Kitchen and Bathroom, (Sleeps 2)
Nestled in the Latin Quarter, on the 14th century street Rue du Fer a Moulin, who would ever guess there would be a bucolic paradise behind the big doors? Set into a private street accessible only by a coded entrance, it feels like walking into your own secret garden as you enter this charming studio.
Within easy walking distance of the bustling well known market street, Rue Mouffetard, yet bathed in delicious silence, the only thing to disturb your reveries are the birds in morning song.
This is a neighbourhood steeped in history, where you can feel the breath of the Musketeers flow out of Dumas’ pages and at the same time take advantage of all the services on offer: bakeries serving hot croissants and bread fresh from the oven, bistrots frequented by locals, cheese shops, right down to cinemas and theatres.
Only a hop, skip and a jump away are such world famous sites such as Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Jardin des Plantes with it’s renowned Natural History Museum. Only next door is the 1920s Paris Mosque and it’s tea-room straight from a Delacroix tableau. Around the corner, you can play petanque in the 1st century Roman amphitheatre – Arenes de Lutece or walk over to the Seine and dance tango at weekends while watching the boats pass up and down.
The studio is self-contained with everything from guides on Paris to wifi, free international phone calls, your own verdant window boxes and a kitchen-dining room.
Ideal for a couple with 1 queen-size bed. It has catered for 3 with a futon supplied extra.

I started my life as an engineer. I've been lucky enough to work in about 20 countries around the globe. I've lived in Paris for 16 years and now teach at university. In my spare time, the abundance of art in Paris has inspired me to do some of my own, so don't be surprised if you find me sculpting or painting next door where I live.
Andrew purchased this Studio in 2003
Why Andrew chose Jardin des Plantes
We have a great little community. We often eat together and socialise together. My neighbours are very international and speak many languages. We always enjoy the exchange with visitors to Paris
What makes this Studio unique
A real community of eclectic Parisians, as Paris has always been. Come and join us.

Lovely quiet courtyard
Andrew was so welcoming and helpful. Loved the neighborhood, felt
Like part of the community. Easy bus ride to Musee Orsay and other sites, once you figure out bus system.
Lovely studio in a charming neighboorhood - highly recommended
My daughter and I stayed at this property for a week and we only have good things to say. This apartment/studio offers more than a hotel could. The studio is accessible to food establishments and transportation hubs but it is tucked in a secure and quiet complex with locked gate leading to the courtyard. The courtyard is lined with beautiful and lush plants and it is so quiet that you could hear the bird calls in the morning. The room has thick curtains that allows complete darkness which means you can sleep in (which is very important especially with jetlag) or you can draw them open and bathe in the morning sunlight. The queen-size futon bed is comfortable and the wifi connection is strong. The bathroom is spacious and modern with strong water pressure and abundant hot water. There is hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. There is a modest kitchen/dining room with stove, fridge, utensils, pots/pans, microwave, toaster, etc. which you probably won’t use with all the food options around you. This place is very convenient to all major tourist spots; there are bus stops around the corner and the metro station is only 5-8 minute walk. The abundance of restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shops, grocery, and cafes near the apartment is priceless. I researched several foodie destinations in Paris and many are found in the Latin Quarter and within walking distance from this studio. My daughter and I never had an issue finding tasty meals in the area even late at night. In the morning, we walked through rue Mouffetard and had crepes, pastries, baguettes, or fresh fruits. So many options. Andrew (owner) is very helpful and responsive; he sent detailed directions and recommendations of bistros and places to visit. I am so happy that I found this place as it made sightseeing very convenient and our Paris visit very enjoyable. I plan on coming back to Paris and I plan on staying at this apartment again.
Charming apartment, fantastic location, & terrific host!!!
First off, I must say that Andrew was wonderful from the initial booking through to my return home. He cares about the details and the little things necessary to make things comfortable. He’s also very informative and provides a lot of details to help plan your trip.
His place is off a main street but in a secluded alley filled with vibrant greenery. You’re greeted with gorgeous sculptures as you head upstairs toward the room. The bed is a convertible, but I must say it’s the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept on! Great sleep! The bathroom is new with good water pressure.
I didn’t have a chance to cook anything during our short stay but you can if you want to! The location of this place is just perfect. I really wanted to stay near Rue Mouffetard and I wasn’t disappointed. You are right down the street from so many places to eat. If you’re in the mood for baguettes, olives, cheese, crepes, pastries, fish, fresh produce, etc. it’s all right there!
This place is a gem with a solid location in the heart of Paris and a wonderful host. It’s been a lovely stay. Thank you, Andrew!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay and the little garden I have created over the past 12 years. I hope you had a safe return back to the US. I need to get back to sculpting and painting. I just seem to have no time these days.
Please come back anytime, you will always be made most welcome. Have a lovely 2018. All my very best,
Great host, good location, adequate apartment.
The host is wonderful. He's accommodating, responsive, informative, and nice too boot. The apartment is small (but most Paris accommodations are), but for the price and location, it worked out great. Pull out sofa mattress is very comfortable. Updated bath.
Thank you for your review. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay in my studio. You're welcome back anytime. Have a great 2018.
All my very best,
This was my second time staying here. I also stayed here four years ago and I loved it again! Andrew is wonderful, the studio is just the space you need, after all, one does not go to Paris to sit in their apartment all day. The Latin Quarter is my favorite, bustling and quiet all at the same time. Rue Mouffetard, a pedestrian street is right around the corner. I highly recommend this studio to anyone.
You're so good. Thanks for your lovely review. I hope you're enjoying Amsterdam now and that you get the same good weather up there. I feel so lucky to live in the heart of bustling Paris and yet be surrounded by green and silence at home.
You're welcome back anytime, happy travels!
Charming, comfortable studion in a great location
The studio was a comfortable place to stay for us as a couple, with a really nice bathroom and a kitchenette with a breakfast table that was very convenient for some self-catering meals. The location is great, very central and a short stroll from major attractions and interesting neighbourhoods that we explored on this trip. Andrew put in a lot of care into the place and was a wonderful host, preparing for our arrival down to the smallest detail, which made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this as a place to stay, it contributed greatly to our enjoyment of Paris on this trip.
Dear Nina & Benedict,
Delighted you both enjoyed Paris and my studio. It was lovely meeting you. You are both very welcome back anytime you wish to visit Paris again. I would love to have you stay.
All my very best,
Well located in the heart of Paris in the famous Latin Quarter, my studio is surrounded by good restaurants and food shops. If you like markets, there is also the famous Rue Mouffetard around the corner with it's fresh food beautifully laid out every day. You are within easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, the Botanic Gardens among others. Discover my neighbours who, for the most part, also speak many languages, including English. It would be a delight to have you enrich our local neighbourhood with your tales. Come and join me in experiencing Paris the Parisian way.
