Great stay. Jered was a great and accommodating host. The house was all we thought it would be. It was a great place to spend Thanksgiving with my family.
We had a great time at this beautiful new Inner Banks home. The property was spotless, with fresh, high-quality furnishings that made it feel both comfortable and upscale. The private water access was a wonderful feature, and while the fishing pier was a bit of a walk, it was worth it for the peaceful setting. The owners were excellent hosts—communicative, friendly, and extremely responsive to any questions we had. I would certainly stay here again, and next time I hope to bring a boat so we can fully enjoy the water access. Highly recommend!
The house was right around the corner from my grandpa and was very easy to enjoy thanksgiving being so close. The house was clean and spacious. We also enjoyed the deck even though the propane ran out 10 minutes after we started the fire. It was still very comfortable seating and quiet. We also really liked the lack of breakable decor because our son is 20 months old. My it very easy for him to run around. Thank you for being a good host and communicating well!

About the host
Hosted by Jered Reeves
I grew up in western Pennsylvania, where I was raised to love the outdoors—especially fishing and hunting. Those passions stuck with me, and now I love traveling, fishing, and hunting whenever I get the chance. Being a host is great because it lets me share that enthusiasm for adventure and the outdoors with others!
Why they chose this property
Oriental, North Carolina, is a charming, small coastal town nestled along the banks of the Neuse River, often dubbed the "Sailing Capital of North Carolina." Picture a serene waterfront scene: the wide, shimmering expanse of the Neuse River stretches out before you, dotted with sailboats and fishing vessels gliding peacefully across its surface. The town’s harbor is a lively yet tranquil hub, framed by quaint docks and marinas where boats outnumber residents—over 2,700 vessels to just around 880 people. Along the tree-lined streets, historic cottages from the 1920s and ’30s mix with cozy shops, art galleries, and seafood cafes, exuding a laid-back, nautical vibe. The air carries the faint scent of saltwater and pine, and the quiet is occasionally broken by the call of seabirds or the soft lapping of waves against the shore. Festivals like the Croaker Festival or the Spirit of Christmas bring the community together, filling the streets with music, lights, and laughter, while parks like Lou-Mac offer a perfect spot to sit in an Adirondack chair and watch the river’s gentle flow.
What I enjoy most about this neighborhood is its unhurried, authentic charm and deep connection to the water. The sense of community here is palpable—whether it’s locals gathering at The Bean coffee shop on the town dock for morning chats or sailors swapping stories after a day on the river. The walkability of the town, with its flat terrain and picturesque views, makes every stroll feel like a mini-adventure, especially along the 1.2-mile historical walking tour that weaves through 37 sites. I love how Oriental blends a rich history—tied to Native American roots, pirate lore, and the wrecked steamer that gave it its name—with a vibrant present, where boating, fishing, and simply soaking in the peaceful riverside vibe reign supreme. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can’t help but feel drawn to its contagious, small-town magic.
What makes this property unique
Welcome to my hidden gem, a private retreat just 7 miles from the coastal charm of Oriental, North Carolina! What sets my property apart is its unmatched seclusion—redefining what it means to have a place all to yourself. Unlike many short-term rentals thrown together, mine was designed for this, delivering a modern, cozy escape on a sprawling 2.5-acre lot wrapped in towering pines.
Step into my 1,500-square-foot home, where an open-concept layout greets you with sunlight pouring through big windows, With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, it’s perfectly sized for up to ten—ideal for families or friends. The kitchen’s a standout, loaded with stainless steel appliances and a large island that begs for shared meals and good company. Outside, the expansive lot feels like your own private forest, and you’re just a short walk from our boat slip. No waterfront views from the house, but you’re on the water in no time.
What makes my place special is that sweet spot between solitude and access. Tucked 7 miles from Oriental’s sailboat-lined Neuse River and vibrant downtown, you can pop into town for fresh seafood or a sunset stroll, then retreat to pure peace. The boat slip puts the water at your fingertips, and the beach is an easy day trip away. I’ve added must-haves like a washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi, and a dedicated workspace, so you’re covered whether you’re here to kick back or stay connected.
This isn’t just another rental—it’s my passion project, a secluded haven where you can recharge surrounded by nature, with Oriental’s magic and the water just a heartbeat away. I’d love to share it with you!
