Loved it, this is a gem!

First, the photos don't do this retreat justice. When you walk out the back door and see this pristine lake just steps from the rear deck it will take your breath away. Mike and Linda are the most gracious hosts; just bring yourselves and food because everything else you need is provided. Oh, and best of all the beds, mattresses and bedding are comfortable and are good quality.

We were in the area to drop our son off at St. Lawrence University and we rented the house for a week. It was a good way for us to get to know the area, it's about 30 minutes from SLU. One thing we found was the people in the area are super nice, such a breath of fresh air!

If you need to get away from it all, need some peace and quiet, love lake life, love fishing, love the outdoors or all of the above you're going to love this place!

R&R....and then some!

  • 5 of 5

First I have to say it was a breeze from the first contact with Mike. He was friendly, helpful and thorough. Our group consisted of 8 adults looking for a relaxing vacation as close to the water as possible. The minute my family walked through the door we fell in love with the place. The home is comfortable and welcoming and the water is right outside your door. The view from the dock is spectacular. The home was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. We fished, kayaked, swam and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The weather was lovely - we had a few bouts of rain but it quickly cleared up. Our vacation was wonderful and we're planning on returning next year!

The whole family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake home. More than enough room for the 10 of us and for my husband who is in a wheelchair. The kitchen is without a doubt one of the best has a lot of cupboard space. The grandchildren very much enjoyed their fishing outing with Mike and the tubing it was "awesome" (in their words). Even the 2 yr. old was happy with the sand box and just loved the little blue boat. It was great having the use of a couple of kayaks. Everything that we needed for a great vacation was there. Hopefully we will be able to make it again next year!

Wonderful family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This year was our second at this beautiful home on Trout Lake. It is the perfect setting for a peaceful and fun family vacation. There is plenty of room for our family plus the grandparents. We enjoyed boating on the lake, relaxing on the spacious porch, and cooking delicious dinners in the fabulously stocked kitchen. You can't beat these digs for a vacation on the lake.

Beautiful Lake Views

  • 5 of 5

More like visiting a friend than staying in a rental. The decor is nice and the house has everything you would want...when I asked if we should bring our own hot air popcorn popper, the owner, Mike, bought one for the house!

Mike also took us tubing and fishing, as well as teaching us how to run the boat and prepare the fishing rods ourselves.

I should mention that we are a group of two grandparents, two parents, and three little boys aged nine and younger ...We all loved it and have already booked for next year!

Exceptional is right

We used this clean and perfectly located house as base camp for Clarkson graduation. Great sleeping and perfect for an intimate gathering of my son's graduating friends and family. Rev. Mike was a most gracious host who worked hard to make sure the house was ready and the canoes and kayaks prepared for our use. We loved it and appreciated the hospitality of our host.
