Loved our stay in this amazing beach house! Its proximity to the ocean was outstanding and with plenty of room and luxury appliances and decor. What else could a mermaid want? I can foresee staying here again in the near future!

We loved the close proximity to the beach/water! Loved the house and the whole area of Dauphin Island. Definitely looking forward to going back soon.

Relaxing retreat

Being so close to the ocean was amazing. Sitting on the balcony was a joy. The kitchen is amazing. The location is wonderful.

Amazing

This was a beautiful house and was like it’s own little paradise. Nicely furnished and fully stocked with everything you need. Kitchen was amazing and thank you for such a beautiful stay!

Great views, good location.

Nice, basic beach house on the West End of Dauphin Island. Beachfront. There is some beach to play on, even at high tide. Fairly close to the State park beach, which is beautiful and you can have it all to yourself if you just walk down a couple hundred yards from the entrance.

Can't Get Closer!

Our stay was awesome! With the recent weather the water came right under the house. We saw dolphins at least once a day. When the waves got a little big we just went down to the West End Beach for a shell picking and checking out all the hermit crabs. Really enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was the wifi, not very strong.

As close to Gulf front as you will get! Spectacular!

This home is beautiful, located on the Gulfside of Dauphin Island’s West End Beach. We enjoyed a meteor shower one night that was amazing. Thank you for letting us bring a pet. This was such a cool experience.

Tater the Basset Hound loved the house.

Our first day was storming and flooding. We received a weather alert from the rental staff about possible tornadoes in the area while we were traveling. We were able to get to the house and rental staff was very helpful in transporting our vehicle to a safer place to park overnight. Staff very friendly and caring. We are planning on booking this house again.

The house was disappointing. When we arrived, the internet wasn't working, and later in the week, we lost power. DIBR was good to work with. Any issues they didn't have control over were well communicated and handled as best they could.However, the ice maker wasn't working & frozen shut. We were told maintenance wouldn't be back on the island for a week, so we needed to buy ice each day. They offered to reimburse us. Not a big thing, but a hassle when we hadn't planned to leave the house all week & were at the far west end of the island. Dishwasher runs but doesn't clean anything, most likely from water pressure because shower basically spits water and makes it hard to wash off soap, sand or shampoo. Multiple pieces of broken furniture like the 2nd bedroom with the broken wheel that has just been propped up under the leg, making the bed lean. Closet doors without handles, nightstands with cabinets and drawers but no knobs. It just makes the property seem pretty rundown for nearly 500 a night. The lamp in the spare bedroom was broken and hanging, and the internet extender snapped. Water damage in the wall that has gone into the carpet and soaked our suitcase. Master shower has huge crack in the drain, and water is pouring out under the house and rotting the wood. There was half dry mildewed sheets and towels in the dryer, and the trash cans still had trash in them. Not sure what housekeeping did except make the beds. It could be a great house, but it needs a lot of work.

Rotten wood behind the trim, and you can see where our suitcase was sitting on the carpet. It was wet when we packed at the end of the week. The carpet is wet.

The Best!!!

We have rented vacation homes many times and this experience was one of the best. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and great location. The house must have been recently updated with great decor and new appliances. We were lulled to sleep each night by the surf and woke to beautiful sunrises from the deck. We had a slight issue with the coffee maker and Adam responded within minutes and brought a new one at once. We are going to rent again soon and for longer. Truly 5 stars!!! Thanks, MA

Excellent Location

The property was as promised. Right on the beach and during high tide right on the water. You could tell it had storm damage as there were cosmetic items (electrical plates missing, uneven ceiling fans etc) as well as in and out internet/tv service. However our concerns were addressed quickly and they didn't detract from the overall wonderful experience. Since nearest resturants are miles away I would suggest bringing own groceries.

Great location/Needs some TLC

This was our second visit to Dauphin Island. Loved being first row, right on the gulf side again, however, the house needs some overall maintenance and a good cleaning. Kitchen drawers were coming apart, beadboard pulling away from the walls and holes in the carpet. The Wifi quit working and they had someone there within 30 minutes to fix the issue. It quit working again, but we were leaving the next morning.

Didn't stay there

There was a sewer line out at the home. We were given the door code about an hour before we stayed there and then Becky called and said a sewer line out and we couldn't stay there. Very disappointed.

Amazing views!!

Great place to take the family! Clean, dog friendly house right at the water! What more could you possibly ask for?? Added plus close to restaurants and if you want to dine in its close to the seafood market. Keep in mind it's on an island so take extra breakfast foods, snacks, drinks, and such because there is no walmart nearby. Also bring extra towels because the house doesn't give very many for the amount of days you stay. We stayed 3 nights and had like exactly one towel each and there was 5 of us. No biggie but just a heads up. Wonderful house! Could not say enough about it. It's a must see.

Location was great

We enjoyed our stay but a few things that need fixed are the cabinet door on the island is half off along with the drawers are messed up and don’t pull out properly. The outside rail on deck really needs fixed it’s kind of sketchy. The outside door in master suite will only shut if the deadbolt is locked. Glass sliding doors catch and won’t open easily. Dining room could use some blinds, the evening sun is pretty blinding coming through those windows. Wi-Fi is almost non existent, we only needed it one day when it rained but we had to hook our hotspot up to get tv to work which we didn’t go on vacation to watch tv so that wasn’t too big of a deal to us. The best part and why we rented was location. It is so close to the beach and it was not busy or crowded at all. We enjoyed the sound of the ocean each night. All the appliances were very high quality and worked great. If your wanting a house right on the beach this is a wonderful one to pick

Fantastic location being literally ON the water. Great furnishings.

Wi-Fi buffered constantly, blurry tv’s in LR and kitchen, but kitchen would clear eventually, no dresser in the 2 spare bedrooms so you had to live out of your suitcase, zero hangers in the 2 guest BRs, clothes washer needs refreshed-smells very stale, the dishes in the cabinets were not clean, that’s really gross! Oven doesn’t function properly, oven read 400 degrees and it was at 280 degrees,(such high end appliances, you may want to include the owners manual-for and example-the oven turns off if you press kitchen timer and not cook timer), ice maker does not work properly (my husband had to google how to fix it), Both sliding doors are difficult to open and close, especially the LR door, the door rocks left and right in its track, shower water pressure is very low (could be water saving shower head?), a lot of the screws in the deck are popping out- safety issue to feet, no lights on ceiling fans in master bedroom and kitchen over the table, no lighting over the kitchen table was extremely frustrating, how is that even possible?, outside wooden chairs are rotted, but they have 4 very nice composite chairs if you have just 4 guests.

Love the location but property needs some TLC

When we got there at 4:00 the cleaning lady was still there (check in was at 3:00). She was very nice and helped to carry a few things upstairs but I could tell the property was not thoroughly cleaned as she was trying to get out of our way. All of the other reviews about doors, soft spots on the floor, having a hard time with ac due to the doors, it’s all true. You have one of the best locations I’ve ever stayed in and if you don’t give the home itself some TLC it’s going to get past the point of no return. Appliances are all fancy and new but we had a problem with the ice machine. They promptly came and fixed the issue. My stay here made me realize I don’t want any new Samsung appliances. They are cool to look at and seem fancy but don’t hold up. With all that being said I would stay here again just because of the location and the fact it’s not overcrowded. Please fix all the doors and other issues so we can continue to come to this beautiful place!

Turned out not to be what was advertised

Island Time should have updated photos of the outside of the home, the beach erosion is now in a severe stage for it to be considered for renting. We drove over 800 miles to find the house completely out in the water! My wife and one family member was basically trapped in the house when a wave washed the lower steps off. They had to be helped out of the residence by a couple of workers from the property management firm. The good news for all involved nobody ended up getting seriously hurt. We were moved to another house for our stay. In my opinion the beach needs fixed, or the home should not be rented. I know this beach is changing, and this is not our first stay at this house and others on Dauphin Island. The night after we were move waves washed down the parking lot where we would have had to park, it would have stranded the cars in wet sand. I had so much excitement coming down because we enjoyed our stay a few years ago in this house. I have stage IV cancer and it just kind of broke my heart to see my stay I had looked forward to ruined by bad decisions to rent this house to vacationers. You wanted my opinion, you have it. I have been warning people we know not to trust VRBO management companies on Dauphin Island!

Great place for families with young kids to stay.

This was a perfect location for our family getaway. Kids loved the beach. The house provided shade for younger kids and adults while watching the kids on the beach. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The location was everything we needed. This was a great house but there were a few things that I would want to know as a property owner. First, the banister on the front of the deck really needs to be replaced. We wouldn't let our kids out on the deck for fear they might climb on it. Next, there were no cleaning supplies, or dish towels to use while cleaning. We cooked each meal there and having tea towels etc. would have been very helpful with kids. One of the kids spilled a can of juice and all we had was paper towels to use to clean with. I ended up having to use wash clothes and dish soap on my hands and knees to get up most of the spill. Then found the mop outside and finished up with that. We did take our own paper towels in and used those as well. Finally, one of the bunk beds was nearly broken and not very comfortable. All of that isn't meant to run down this great house, just things that might be helpful when families are so far away from home and stores. We loved Dauphin Island and the lack of commercialism there. Just other families on the beach each day and a very relaxed atmosphere!

Relaxing and so close to water.

Property was clean and very comfortable. They let us have our 2 small dogs (our family) with us. Very well stock with essentials and kitchen appliances were top notch.
