Bella Vista ~ Peaceful, secluded getaway

Bella Vista is your picturesque cabin vacation located on over 90 private acres in Virginia's Piedmont region. It is situated amongst rolling hills, mature forest, streams, and miles of hiking trails exploring the property. Bella Vista is truly the perfect place to relax and unwind over a half mile from any road.

Our guests enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of the house, the privacy of location, the easy access to nature, and the local historical attractions.

The Space:
Bella Vista is comfortably furnished for a relaxing stay. There are two roomy bedrooms and one shared bath. Enjoy the sunrise from the timber frame patio, rock on the front porch, immerse yourself in a book next to the gas fireplace, or simply sit and enjoy watching the wildlife. Spend time cooking in the well-stocked kitchen or dine out and enjoy the local flavors! After a day of enjoying the historical area, soak your cares away in the spa or kick up your feet around the fire pit. If you feel like exploring, there are several easy walking trails through the surrounding forest and along the streams.

Bella Vista is located within minutes of the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park and other historical landmarks. We are 20 minutes from Holliday Lake State Park which offers hiking trails, swimming, boating, and fishing. We are 30 minutes from the beautiful city of Lynchburg, home of Liberty University. We are also 30 minutes from the lovely town of Farmville, home of Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College, Green Front Furniture, the High Bridge Trail State Park, and The Fishin' Pig, the best barbeque in Virginia!

Other things to note:
High-speed internet access is provided via Starlink.
Each TV has an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
There is excellent cell phone signal through Verizon Wireless.

Bella Vista was an excellent property to stay at for a family Thanksgiving retreat. The land is beautiful and the trails around the property were fun to explore. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. The host even reached out to us to recommend a small local market. We would happily stay again!

Amazing Weekend!

What an incredible place, we loved it. Beautiful scenery. The place was a super easy check in, kitchen was fully stocked. We loved having extra towels for the hot tub!

We loved this place!

We found the area to be wonderful (including an awesome bike ride on the High Bridge Trail). We also loved the quiet serenity of this home. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful when we had a question.

Spacious and Modern Farm House

Bella Vista is a wonderful VRBO. We will absolutely go back if we are in the area for another event. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The grounds were perfect for spring outdoor photos. Thank you for being the perfect host!

Fantastic Place

Bella Vista was a perfect getaway. It is a beautiful home, in a beautiful setting. It was so quiet! The décor is great; bed and furniture are both nice and comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of needed items. The hot tub is a great feature. I can't say anything negative.

Great Weekend Getaway

This was a great little getaway. The house was just as described in the ad. Donna was very communicative. There was a nice welcome basket with snacks. The kitchen had several spices to help with cooking. There are some nice trails to walk. The internet was consistent. The hot tub was very relaxing.

The house is stunning and the hot tub was our favorite activity. Clean beautiful and comfortable. The hosts were amazing having the house all ready we felt like we were home. We will absolutely be coming back!!!

Relaxing!

No complaints! Kitchen, linens, bathroom all fully stocked better than any other vacay home I’ve been in. Beds, hot tub, sectional couch were pluses! Definitely take time to walk to the creek!

Peaceful getaway

Donna was an amazing host. She replied back very promptly to any questions we had. The house was exceptionally clean, I’ve never stayed at a vacation home that was so well kept. All of the provided amenities were top notch. They really have thought of everything one might need during their stay. The best parts though are the breathtaking views, the peaceful seclusion, and the hot tub! I highly recommend this home for anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway.

peaceful and polished

The home is small but perfect for a retreat. We came for LU graduation, but enjoyed the peace and quiet at this base for the weekend. The kitchen is well stocked, ample linens, very clean. We did not get to enjoy the hot tub nor fire pit. The drive in is a very windy and hilly gravel road, so take care driving this section. Once you get to the top clearing, tranquility awaits!

Peace & Seclusion

It was so peaceful and relaxing we had to come back, we fell in love. This was our second time vacationing at this restful retreat. The home is beautifully decorated, well stocked, and clean. Games, books, music, movies, tv, etc.. for your indoor needs. Plenty of room to accommodate two couples nicely. Hot tub, nature trail, fire pit, grill, etc.. for your outdoor needs. The host communicates easily with you, which makes everthing that much better. The plan is to make our way back again... where tantalizing tranquility awaits at "Bella Vista".

Home away from home

My partner and I were looking for a romantic little getaway for our anniversary and I believe this was the cutest place we've stayed with awesome views! I was a little nervous at first cause I use a wheelchair and I wasn't sure about the accessibility but Donna was really fast at responding to any questions we had and I'm so glad we were able to get it to work. I brought my own little 3ft ramp for the entry step and managed just fine and I was SO HAPPY that my hoyer lift and wheelchair easily fit through all the doorways too. Additionally, we were so surprised and grateful with everything provided as we forgot to pack some essentials. For example, after making dinner we needed something to store our leftovers in and we discovered some ziplock bags. We also forgot to bring napkins and seasonings and all of that was also there...which was SO HELPFUL! lol Literally a home away from home and the CLEANEST vacation home too. Also, I can't end this without saying, the kingsize bed was honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on during a vacation and that means a lot to me because due to my disability, I have pressure point issues at night as I can't roll over on my own. I usually use an adjustable bed at home to help with positioning but both my boyfriend and I slept like babies, floating on a cloud. lol Anywho, thanks again to Donna for everything and I hope we can come back again one day. 😊

My husband, Mike and I moved to Appomattox Virginia from Lancaster Pennsylvania in 2018 to pursue a dream of owning a small farm. We love the laid back life style we have found here as we build our farm. We enjoy caring for our sheep, gardening and long walks in the woods. One of our favorite spots to relax is on our front porch, with a cup of coffee or sweet tea in hand. We love hanging out with family and friends who stop in to visit, and watching the deer and other wildlife that meander thru our meadow.
We are looking forward to making your stay at Bella Vista as relaxing and restful as possible.
