The cottage was beautiful and so peaceful. We really enjoyed the back porch and hammock. This cabin is a must stay if you are looking for a quaint getaway with lots of nature.

4th of July trip

Place was overall good. Could have been a bit cleaner with the cobwebs but all the amenities I wanted were available.

"Could have been a bit cleaner"? This is a nearly 100-year-old cottage built of rough-hewn timbers. We are surrounded by woodlands in a very rural area. I spent two weeks of hard labor to open up the cottage: cleaning, unpacking and setting up for the season. I clean the cottage in between guest bookings and before my personal guests arrive I vacuum and/or sweep all floors, wipe down all surfaces, and take a broom to any overhead cobwebs I see. We share this natural setting with various creatures. A spider can get started on a new cobweb within an hour. I am allergic to spider bites so I am militant about removing them. That's the best anyone can do in a rustic woodland structure.

Perfect hideaway

This cottage was nestled in a quiet remote area. My husband and I traveled from AZ to Vermont for family wedding, the cottage was everything we were hoping for.

My primary residence is a lake house in north central Florida and offer guest lodgings there too if that appeals to you. Arizona! I love the Southwest and have lived in New Mexico for tor two extended periods of time. Offered guest lodgings there for several years before I moved away: Casita Santuario by the Rio Grande River and then a couple of historic adobes.

Enjoyable visit within one-hour of major attractions

We stayed for the week of the solstice in June 2024. Enjoyed listening to new birds and watching the sunrise on the lake. Went to the mountains for hikes and visits, and also enjoyed the scenery. The cottage was quaint and well-furnished. Our host was very good and accommodated our needs. Overall there was adequate privacy even though there are neighboring cabins and others enjoying the lake.
