The Happy Mallard is newly renovated and has one of the best beach fronts on all of West Twin Lake. The house offers a fully stocked kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, open plan living/dining room plus a separate TV room and laundry. Outdoors includes a big lake front yard, BQ, deck, dock, and the best fishing in the lake! We supply 2 kayaks, beach towels and a fire pit for summer rentals. It's the perfect place for making memories.

Beautiful Home, Great Space for our Group

The house was clean, well appointed, and spacious while still feeling cozy. Check in and communication with the host was easy. Our group enjoyed our winter stay here and I can only imagine how beautiful it would be on the lake in warmer weather. I'll definitely be looking to return if the house is available on my next trip to the area.

Great "Up North" Stay!

Our family had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Happy Mallard! The property and cottage were lovely--everything was so well maintained and organized. Off the beaten path enough to be in the woods, but close enough to enjoy everything quaint Lewiston had to offer. The dock, kayaks and fire pit gave us many enjoyable hours together. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great Up North experience!

Happy at the Happy Mallard

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Haopy Mallard, home was spotless and well appointed. The overall layout of the home was perfect, great kitchen for preparing and cooking dinner. Bedrooms were all very comfortable, the yard was quite private for a lake house. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely be back! Thank you Heather and Wendy.

Best VRBO I’ve rented

We had 4 guys on a Northern Michigan golf trip to the Garland USA Resort. This house was the perfect set up. 5 miles to the golf course. 4 Bedrooms, all very comfortable and the house is stocked with everything you would need. Played golf during the day and out to the fire pit sitting right on West Twin Lake for Cigars and beverages at night. Easily the best VRBO I have stayed in over the last 10 years. Communication with the owner and property managers was excellent. Everything as advertised and then some.

Superb!

A group of us four couples have been vacationing together at a different lake house every year using VRBO for 10 years now. We all agreed that this was the most comfortable lake house we’ve rented. The pictures didn’t do the house justice. It felt like we were in someone’s home, not just a rental. Normally we have to either bring or buy something for the kitchen, but not this year. The Happy Mallard was the best stocked with pans, utensils and staples of any other house we’ve used. Every year the guys always find something to maintain, fix, or tweak in each house we’ve stayed at. Not this year! Everything worked. (although I think the guys were secretly disappointed). The yard had good beach, water and combination of sun and shade. It was very comfortable and well laid out with plenty of room for the 8 of us both inside and out. The lake was fairly quiet and the Loons, Eagles and Kingfishers graced us with their presence. All in all, it was a great vacation at a great lake house. Thank you to the Hustons for hosting us!

What makes this property unique

This home is special as it not only has amazing views of the lake but is also located at the deepest part of West Twin and thus has the best fishing due to that. We have amazing sunsets and are also a short walk from town.
