About the host
Hosted by Nancy
We love the ocean and relaxed atmosphere in the Grayton Beach area, and decided to buy our rental property in 2003. This is our only rental so we like to take care of it, making sure it's in top shape for you, our guests. We renovated the home in 2023 and early 2024, with new flooring, window treatments, adding 600 count sheets and new beds and duvets to make the home even more enjoyable for everyone who comes to the beach.
We have found Grayton Beach to be the perfect vacation get away where you can fully relax and enjoy all that is available in a relaxed atmosphere. You're close enough to everything busy and active, and if you want to just chill out you can do that in too Grayton and at our home, Toulouse Mongoose. Our kids love the beach, riding bikes, swimming and taking part in all the local activities. Families come back each year and create memories together, just like us. Kids and adults love swimming in the heated pool.
Walk over to The Red Bar and Chiringo for a quick bite and a beverage to head out to the beach and watch the sunset. Magical experience each and every time; and it's different each and every time.
We hope you'll enjoy all that Grayton Beach has to offer. You'll want to keep coming back too! SD & Nancy
Why they chose this property
The beaches are incredibly unique with mesmerizing white sand and ocean water that changes from turquoise to emerald green, depending on the time of year, and time of day.
Grayton Beach is one of only a few neighborhoods actually built within a State or National Park, and is a historical beach in Florida! Grayton Beach was established in 1890 and has been awesome ever since. This is a laid back old Florida surfer town. Grab (or rent) your paddle board and head out into the Gulf to gain some terrific views of the beach area.
Today, there are several artificial reefs. One of them is located 500 yards from shore off of the eastern portion of Grayton Beach State Park. It's called Sea Turtle Reef. There you'll be able to enjoy snorkeling or diving among all sorts of different fish, including sea turtles from time to time.
What makes this property unique
Hey now! Toulouse Mongoose is located in Grayton Beach's unique spot of an Old Florida surfer town surrounded by Grayton Beach State Park and Point Washington State Forest. You are close to everything, literally just a bike ride away, but you're also in one of the chillest spot along 30A and the panhandle itself.
The house itself is located two houses off of the beach. You're 75 yards to the Sandy Lane beach access point. You can enjoy the wide open beaches. There are no limits to our guests enjoying wide open beach access. Check out the Sea Turtle Reef located 500 yards off of Grayton Beach State Park for a snorkeling adventure.
The house itself was remodeled with new flooring, updated bathrooms, new window treatments, new beds, and 600 count sheets and 800 count duvet covers. We enjoy art and have Walter Anderson block prints located in several parts of the home. He was quite the artist and influenced many with his works until his passing in 1965. To this we've added a few pieces from Francisco Adaro, a really cool Latin artist who has called the US home for the past few decades. Check out Adaro Art over in The Big Chill to pick up your own piece of inspiriation.
Some of the local activities you and your group can enjoy include: Biking, Swimming, Snorkeling/Diving, Surfing, Paddleboarding, Walking, Restaurants, Fishing, Sailing, Hiking and Biking, Trailrunning and biking, Amusement Park, Zoo/Wildlife Park, Shopping, Sightseeing, Massages and other Spa services, Surfing, Mountain Biking, Wildlife Viewing, including Bird Watching of the Snowy Plover, Hiking, Fishing, Cinemas/Movie Theaters, Submarine Museum, Cave snorkeling and much more!
