The Space:

This waterfront property is perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers! Nestled in the cedars, but life on the shores of a pristine pond offers a unique blend of relaxation and outdoor fun. Do you like to fish? Kayak? Sit around the fire pit and enjoy s'mores in front of the breathtaking sunset with the family? The stargazing is as amazing as the memories you will make at this waterfront family cabin.
2 kayaks are provided, to explore at your leisure.

Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed, with storage and wonderful water views.
Bedroom 2 has a full sized bed, with lots of natural light and storage.
Loft has a queen bed and a full bed.

This clean and spacious bathroom has a walk in shower, and plenty of towels, and storage.

Living area: A well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook for your family. There is a propane grill and outdoor seating as well.
The living room has a flat screen TV, and a desk for office work. There is plenty of seating for relaxing with the family.
Out doors is a fire pit, outdoor furniture on the deck and waterfront.

Fishing, kayaking and swimming are within 5 steps from the house. If you like to enjoy the fresh Maine waterfront, this is your place!
The house is close to Schoodic mountain for hiking, close to Schoodic National Park (part of Acadia National Park) and the ferry to Bar Harbor out of Winter Harbor.
You are 10 miles from Ellsworth for Hannafords, Shaws, Walmart, shopping and restaurants.
Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are about 20 miles.
Fireworks can be viewed on many nights right from your lounge chair at the house. ; )

The house is great! We enjoyed using the kayaks and there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep. The hosts were super communicative and we had a great time!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Kayak Cabin! Our hosts were friendly and attentive. The cabin was clean and spacious, and very welcoming. Flanders pond was exceptionally beautiful, quintessential Maine! We swam and kayaked and had lots of smores in the fire pit. We will definitely be back next summer!

Relaxing!

What a trip. The cabin was everything you one hope for. Excellent check-in (Thanks Mike!). The lake (pond) was breathtaking and will be a lasting memory. Great location to visit Schoodic and the other crazy part of Arcadia. I would highly recommend the property if it fits your needs and we hope to come back.

Perfect Peaceful Vacation

This property had only a few reviews (all positive), and I was a little nervous to book it. Turns out property was new to VRBO but definitely not new to renters with lots of stories in the cottage book dating back to 2007.Best things: quiet, peaceful lake. Perfect hosts: kind, helpful (share the property at the top of the hill). Easy drive to Acadia and other hiking. Full kitchen. Kayaks! Anything you could think of: life jackets, fishing poles, binoculars, extra swim towels, swim raft, grill, etc.Caution: water is 2-3 foot at edge of shore and railing is not child proof near water. I would not pick this if my kids were toddlers as my kids are explorers. Perfect for my 8, 10, 11 year old.
