About Cathy Morgan, Your Time in Ireland SR

Dear Guests, myself and my family returned to Ireland in recent years having lived overseas ourselves for many years. We enjoyed many worldwide trips & travels over those years, and experienced firsthand the pro’s & con’s of hotels versus short stay apartments. Hotels can be great, but! we realised, how much we better enjoyed ourselves when we felt thoroughly ‘At Home’ on these travels. Putting all of this into good practice in our beautiful Galway & Dublin short-rental options, we are extremely conscious of always offering this pleasure to the weary traveller – a seriously welcoming home-from-home environment - for 3 nights only or 3+ leisurely weeks! Working hard on the things that count – including fresh, luxurious bed linens & duvets and beds fully made up, fridge freshly stocked with Useful Food Items, and our useful local guides - you can so quickly settle in and get going with the many wonderful activities, explorations and small adventures awaiting you on a visit to Ireland, including lively engagement with everyone you meet on your tips and tours...

Cathy Morgan, Your Time in Ireland SR purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Cathy Morgan, Your Time in Ireland SR chose Galway

Our hi-end short rental options are just 5 minutes away from the liveliest quarters of Town – and yet so peaceful and quiet for a great night’s sleep!

The wider city is alive with visitors, restaurants, cafe-bars and many unique & special traditional Irish pubs and live music - you will have made an excellent choice by staying with us on The Crescent! Galway is a great town! - the capital city of Connacht is a bustling and superbly lively university city that sits at the end of Lough Corrib - Lake & River - as it wends its way to the Atlantic Ocean. Long a wonderful and busy merchant town with a serious maritime tradition and backdrop, Galway’s trading history can be seen in town canals, water breaks & salmon weirs, pier heads, and sea-side promenades and walkways, plus rich ancient woodlands that survive in precious pockets around the town. Our location on The Crescent is part of this older world of Galway going back to the early 1830’s - when trains ran to Clifden, and a tramline ran from Eyre Square via The Crescent and out to the seaside promenades of Salthill. Our apartments are located in an elegant tall period house there of some 180 years standing, and we do everything we can to maintain the ambience of this lovely old period house accompanied by many beautiful and contemporary features of today.

What makes this apartment unique

- Beautiful environment to settle into quickly, beds all freshly made up; fridge stocked and generous Welcome Basket of groceries.

- excellent local shops & supermarket just 2 mins away;

- excellent shopping in lively town centre just 5 minutes away;

Perfect place to base Galway stay!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is located walking distance from downtown, and even closer to the famous Crane Bar. It is comfortable and very attractive, has everything needed, and even offers room to stretch and wash clothes. A grocery is a block away, and, should you need it, medical services and a pharmacy are across the street. Best of all, Cathy greeted us with a basket of goodies and loads of information. We had a parking space, but it was (typically for the area) in a tight location. The good thing is that we didn't really need a car. I highly recommend this apartment! I'll stay again if I make it back.

A Perfect Place to Enjoy an Irish Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We were very comfortable in our apartment on the Crescent. It was comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful. It is a great comfort to return to after a full day of touring. The location was very convenient-an easy walk to Galway with all there is to visit there and we even managed a walk to the beach in addition to our touring. It was a pleasure to enjoy this home away from home in beautiful Galway.

Great location and very welcoming hostess.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for our stay in Galway. Comfortable bed, abundant hot water, and the best dryer I have ever found in Ireland. The fireplace provided enough heat for the sitting room. A welcome basket and breakfast food in the frig. ensured we didn't have to rush out after we arrived for necessities. Highly recommend for a couple looking for a short or long-term stay.

Clean, cozy, and convenient

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 4 great nights at Silver Acres and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It was impeccably clean, well stocked, and very cozy for two people. Location was great--an easy walk to all of Galway's busier locations, but still very quiet at night. The apartment is pretty small, but laid out well and really maximizes the space well. It's great for two people, or maybe parents with one small child. The kitchen is stocked really well if you want to cook meals at home. Another fry pan or two would be a nice addition. Bathroom is clean and sufficient and having laundry facilities is a huge plus. We rented a car and chose to pay the extra fee to use their reserved parking spaces and that was a great convenience for us.

Liz was a fantastic host, too. She was eager to greet us and give us lots of groceries when we arrived, and was easy to reach by phone/text when a few other questions arose during the week. We was accessible but never intrusive. You can tell that they take pride in keeping their rentals spotless and making sure their guests enjoy their stays. You would not get this type of care and attention at a hotel.

If you are navigating via Google maps, it can be a little tricky to find. They emailed detailed instructions ahead of time, but there is a business housed in the same building (DV Mannion & Co) and we had no issues when using that business as the destination in Google maps. If you try to enter the specific street address, you will likely get confused.

Really, the only minor gripe we had was that the WiFi service was somewhat spotty and the signal was only reliable in the front of the apartment.

lovely flat in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic, quiet location in Galway city. We had a lovely two week stay in this beautiful flat. The owner was helpful and personable and greeted us with fresh flowers and an amazing welcome basket. This cosy flat is a short walk to the market, the eclectic West End, and the beautiful walking path along the bay. We highly recommend!
