The Space:
Apartment 2 is a private lower-level apartment with two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen.
The apartment is reached through the shared blue side building door and a set of stairs. The apartment living space itself is private; only the entry corridor and laundry area are shared.
Mini-splits provide cooling and primary heat, with cadet wall heaters available as backup. The TVs are smart TVs; guests should use their own streaming accounts and sign out before departure. Live television and host streaming subscriptions are not guaranteed.
Shared laundry is on the lower level but is outside the private apartment. Because Apartment 2 is below another unit in an older building, footsteps, voices, plumbing, and other ordinary activity from above can be clearly audible.
Guest Access:
Apartment 2's living space is private, but the blue exterior building door and lower-level entry corridor are shared.
There is no key or lockbox. First wake the black Schlage keypad on the blue side door with the bottom-left home button and enter the reservation-specific code shown in the secure check-in details. Go downstairs, wake the Apartment 2 keypad, and enter the same code again.
Parking is public street parking only. There is no reserved driveway, garage, or on-site parking, and availability is not guaranteed. Follow all posted signs.
The Neighborhood:
You're right off NE 28th Avenue - one of Portland's best restaurant rows - with Laurelhurst Park and its tree-lined residential streets just a few blocks south. It's a neighborhood where you can walk to a James Beard-worthy dinner, grab world-class tortas, and still be home in five minutes.
Laurelhurst Market is the anchor - a steakhouse and in-house butcher shop that's been one of Portland's top-rated restaurants since 2009. Go for dinner (the butcher-cut steaks are outstanding) or stop by the counter during the day for house-cured sandwiches and charcuterie. Güero is our favorite torta spot in the city - the carnitas torta and their hamburguesa were recently featured in Portland Monthly as one of the city's best burgers. Montelupo is a proper Italian market and restaurant with housemade pasta, an espresso bar, and a market stocked with imported provisions.
For a casual night, Big's Chicken does Alabama-style fried chicken from the same team behind Laurelhurst Market - the smoked whole bird and mac & cheese are legit. Crema Coffee + Bakery is a short walk for morning coffee and some of the best house-baked pastries in Portland.
A few of our favorites nearby:
🥩 Laurelhurst Market - top-rated steakhouse with in-house butcher shop
🌮 Güero - Portland's best tortas and a killer hamburguesa
🍝 Montelupo - housemade Italian pasta, market, and espresso bar
🌳 Laurelhurst Park - one of Portland's most beautiful parks, a few blocks south
Laurelhurst Park is a quick walk - 27 acres with walking paths, a spring-fed pond, and big old-growth trees. The neighborhood is well connected by bus, bikeable, and central to SE Portland's best districts. Hawthorne, Belmont, and Division are all a short ride away.
Getting Around:

Great spot, either walking distance or many great restaurants or just a short drive away.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the spot and found it easy to get to so many good restaurants. Thank you for staying with us, and I hope we can host you again.
Excellent communication and ease of checking in. The area is awesome!!! We stayed with our adult son and DIL. Tons of stuff within walking distance from early am til late at night even on weekdays. This location is so perfect to get out and about and explore on foot. Great trip!
This property is in a quaint clean neighborhood of Portland. Easy access to everything and walking distance to restaurants and boutiques. The apartment packed a big punch for being small it was perfect for the three of us. 2 nice bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms-which was unexpected. Queen Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Host was very helpful after I had a long day of travel with a Mom who is fragile from cancer. So appreciated everyone. We even saw the cleaning person who was so upbeat and cheerful and told us to have a great day and enjoy.
Basement unit. Pretty tiny but had most necessary amenities. Beds were comfortable, cement floors, and the bathrooms very roomy. The kitchen and “living room” were combined. No dining table although there is a small bar against the wall. Appreciated the full carousel of Portland Keurig coffee! The coach would fit 3 adults (tightly). The only other seating were 2 bar stools with small backs. So although you could easily sleep 4 adults, no real way to “sit” or hang out together. Brought my 2 small dogs - lots of walkable blocks. Steps to great restaurants and a brewery. So, nothing fancy but serviceable.
