About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

At a 7,400' elevation, Snowbowl Mountain Hideaway has magnificent views of the San Francisco Peaks and sits nestled in rural surroundings. The forest area is located near the front of house and is literally within 1 minute walking distance to trails for hiking/biking.

This home has the best of both worlds. The back of house has a country-like setting which sprawls over 2 1/2 acres of natural grasses meadow terrain. Wildflowers crop up during the summer months where one hesitates to run the tractor to mow! The winter seasons bring wonderful snowfalls that leave picturesque views across the valley. A wooded area of ponderosa pines are scattered on the west side of the property. The side yard and all around the back of perimeter of yard is completely fenced in.

Here, one can sit and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the deck/balcony in the morning, and cap off the day with a glass of wine in the evening - perhaps capturing the herds of elk heading down from the nearby forest to graze in the distant pastures. There is a variety of wildlife in the area; elk, deer, coyote, skunk, badger, raccoon, and even black bear. Overall, one never tires of taking in the serene sites of the countryside and mountain views. Other homes sit sprawled out on one or two acre lots.

In the evening, the extremely clear skies make this is a wonderful place to star gaze and one doesn't have to wait long before making a wish - seeing their first falling star of the night!

The house is approx. 1,800 sq feet. It has a Kitchen/Dining Room which is open to the main Living Room area. There is a wood burning stove that sits in this room supplying appealing warmth/ambiance for those chilly Fall and Winter seasons. A cathedral ceiling is over these rooms.

The Kitchen is a full kitchen with microwave/electric stove/refrigerator. There is a large pantry for storage. The Kitchen has ample counter space for preparing meals and for seating, in addition to the table in Dining area. The outside deck/balcony has an additional 500 sq feet of extra space with picnic table/umbrella along with deck furnishings for comfortable and relaxed seating to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, and is located on the west side of the house, with a full bathroom attached. There is also a large walk-in closet in the Master Bedroom. On the other side of the house, beyond the Kitchen/Living Room area, are the other two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have two single beds in each room/dressers/end tables. (The 3rd bedroom has a day bed with trundle, that easily pulls out to a single bed). There is a full bathroom across from these bedrooms and a utility room with washer/dryer accommodations. A fully stocked linen closet is located at the end of the hall.

In the Living Room area, a queen-size fold-out sofa bed can be utilized to accommodate additional guests upon requests.

All bedrooms/Dining/Living Room areas have glass (arcadia) doors that lead out onto the deck/balcony area in the backyard. All of these bedrooms have wonderful views of the Peaks.

The two car garage sits separate from the house and has ample room for bikes etc. There is plenty of parking in the driveway if one has an RV or trailer.

Why Julie Bruggeman chose Baderville

The location of our home is in a rural/country setting and has spectacular views of the San Francisco Peaks/forest areas. The four seasons in Flagstaff have allowed our family to escape the heat of the Valley during the intense summer months while giving us the opportunity to enjoy fall and winter activities. This house is located approximately one hour from the Grand Canyon, and one mile away from the entrance road to Arizona Snowbowl Ski area. Nearby hiking/biking/sledding for all to enjoy. The home is a short distance from downtown Flagstaff.(appr. 7mi).

What makes this house unique

One of the main benefits of staying at this property is getting away from the busyness and fast-paced city life. Here one can relax, experiencing the tranquility of bygone days. This is how life should be — definitely more down time and outdoor living. Of course I can't stress enough the million dollar views from this property!

Our family enjoyed a very special week at this 'Mountain Getaway' enjoying life. Spent morning and evening time on the deck enjoying an incredible view. We were treated to regular visits from Elk, Mule Deer and resident Chipmunks. Grandsons spent hours playing in the fenced 'yard' (yard is an understatement... it's huge). Mountain air, warm days, cool nights, and QUIET unfamiliar to a city family made the experience very memorable. With this incredible home as a base we were able to enjoy the Grand Canyon, Wupatki Indian Ruins, Northern Arizona Museum, mountain hikes, and even a rodeo in Williams. This home is everything advertised and beyond. Must be experienced to appreciate!

Great location for our anniversary😀

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I take a trip to a different location every year for our anniversary and this year was the Grand Canyon. This house met all of our needs as we wanted to explore the area between Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. Located just 6 miles outside of Flagstaff the house was conveniently located to grocery stores, restaurants, etc in Flagstaff. The views were wonderful and the temperatures were amazing. Coming from Atlanta in the middle of September when the humidity is 100% in the 90’s, to no humidity and temperatures in the 80’s was a nice change. The house had everything we needed and was well furnished. If ever we find ourselves back in Flagstaff we will look for this property for sure. Thank You David and Julie for opening your home to us.

Relaxing girl's getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year coming here. Love the porch and the views. Took the chair lift at the big mountain across the way for more beautiful views. Our only suggestions :fix the locks on the sliding doors and improve the lighting...not bright enough in the kitchen especially. Also this year there was construction going on next to us so it was disturbing. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days here.

Great place for a relaxing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Great location just outside or Flagstaff. Plenty of room for my wife and I and our two sons (16 and 13). Nice outdoor area to view the sunrise and stars. The first VRBO I've been in that had many items in the pantry for use such as spices and other condiments. Would definitely recommend to others!

Phenomenal Location, Great Home, Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

Our first stay at the Mtn getaway! We will be back, excellent location to be close to the Grand Canyon, SnowBowl is across the street, Flagstaff proper is 10 minutes away for anything you need or want. Honestly, one of my favorite vacation stays, hot water, good laundry machines, beautiful view, awesome deck, there were Herds of elk nearby 2/3 nights we were up there and it was super quiet and great sleeping overnight! All amenities were there, kitchen was great (I am a Chef) everything we needed was available. Place was very clean, use of the garage, property is fenced in for pets if nec. Dave and Julie were very accommodating and were available by email to answer any questions we had.

Arcadia doors across the entire back of the house for fresh air and views, quiet area, view of Snowbowl mountain, wildlife, what more can you ask for? Dish TV and a million dvds for watching during the evenings and bad weather! Great sound system, great bar, great mattresses! It’s old school feel adds to its charm, the cleanliness and amenities make it a place we will return to winter and summer !! Thanks Dave & Julie for letting my son and I rent the home for our special getaway before school starts again! We loved it.

Million dollar view, but poor care of the home.

  • 3 of 5

The house had beautiful views of Mt. Humphrey, but the patio doors and windows were so dirty you had to go outside to see them. There was a missing screen on one of the patio doors which meant airflow was restricted and since there was no air conditioning it was a problem. Fans provided were just adequate, with the one in the master not working completely.

The master bedroom had no storage for our clothes. The walk-in closet had so much stored in it that there was no free space to hang our clothes. The dresser had one small drawer which was inadequate. The comforter in the master was very old, lumply and looked awful. Spiders were found all over the house. The mattress on the king bed in the master was terribly uncomfortable. It needs to be replaced.

The self cleaning oven was filthy and several of the electric burners were not seated properly and could not be seated for cooking.

The living room braided carpet had a large stain that looked like blood. It should have been cleaned before we arrived.

Living room furniture was old, but comfortable. A GFI had blown before we arrived and a light would not turn on in the living room. One morning a breaker for the kitchen blew. When it was reset the GFI for light was reset. We have no idea why or when the GFI for the living room blew, but we did reset it.

This rental home could be absolutely beautiful with some proper cleaning and organization of the owners property. Renters should not have to work around their belongings.

Owner's Response: Hi Norman, Well we appreciate your feedback on our property, even though we may disagree with most of the content. The property has been booked steadily for months and we receive so many compliments on it that your depiction of it is very surprising! Our housecleaning team is excellent and very conscientious of details that need attention. We will send over this review to our cleaning team so that they can address any of these issues. We do live right next to the forest, so may come across a dead spider or two, The kitchen appliances etc. are maintained well. Coverlet which holds a down conforter in master bedroom is extrememly cozy and mattress very confortable. A review that was posted a week later, commented on our confortable bed!!! The master closet is spacious for hanging up clothes. We're not sure how you blew a fuse, but thank you for resetting! Flagstaff homeowners normally don't have AC which is stated on our listing, and due to our elevations of 7400 feet, temps are very doable. Plenty of extra fans in closets if needed! Nights are much cooler!! Kind Regards, Dave and Julie
