About this property

Glamping dome w/hot tub & fire pit

Summary:

Experience a tranquil mountain retreat in a cozy glamping dome, perfect for starlit evenings, soothing hot tub dips, and nature immersion.

- Sleeps 2 | 1 bedroom | 1 king bed | 1 bath

- Private hot tub under starry skies

- Patio with fire pit & BBQ grill for outdoor meals

- Full kitchen & bathroom for easy self‑catering

- Wifi, TV & Bluetooth sound system for entertainment

- Mountain views from a cozy single‑level dome

The Space:

Cold mountain air settles as dusk drapes the wooded hillside, and the sky above the dome ignites with a blanket of stars. Steam curls from the private hot tub, while the forest’s quiet hum wraps around you, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves. Inside, soft lighting and expansive views frame the landscape, creating a calm retreat that feels both open and intimate. You’ll find the perfect balance of nature’s serenity and thoughtful comforts for a truly relaxing stay.

Sleeping arrangements

The dome features a king bed in an open, single‑level layout, offering a spacious place to unwind after a day of exploring. The space sleeps two guests comfortably, with no stairs and a private entrance for easy arrival.

Bathroom

A full indoor bathroom provides all the essentials, allowing you to refresh without stepping outside into the cooler evening air. Climate control keeps the interior comfortable during winter evenings and chilly mornings.

Kitchen & dining

A compact kitchen and dining area let you prepare simple meals, from a quiet breakfast before heading out to a warm dinner as temperatures drop. The layout includes basic appliances and countertop space, making it easy to enjoy home‑cooked meals without leaving the dome.

Entertainment & connectivity

Unwind with the flat‑screen TV or stream music through the Bluetooth sound system. Wi‑Fi is available for streaming or staying connected, though speeds may vary in this remote mountain setting—perfect for a balanced disconnect‑and‑reconnect experience.

Outdoor living

Step onto the patio or balcony to take in mountain views and crisp seasonal air. The outdoor space includes comfortable seating, a fire pit, and a BBQ grill, inviting you to savor evenings under the stars. The private hot tub offers a soothing soak after a day of hiking or simply admiring the landscape.

Setting & surroundings

Stargazer sits on a wooded mountainside within the private Cooper Mountain retreat. Two other domes are nearby—one about 60 feet away and another over 120 feet distant—so you may glimpse fellow guests, yet each dome retains its own deck, fire pit, and hot tub for a sense of seclusion. The property borders a nature preserve with trails that invite easy exploration of the surrounding forest.

Good to know

Because the dome is not sealed like a traditional home, occasional insects may drift inside, especially during early spring and summer. Outdoor areas are regularly swept, but leaves, pollen, or natural debris may still be present, adding to the authentic mountain experience. Wi‑Fi can be spotty at times, so downloading needed content in advance is recommended.

This dome is ideal for travelers seeking a peaceful escape, cozy winter evenings, and a close connection to the surrounding landscape without sacrificing comfort.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Stargazer in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
