Lovely, peaceful, well-appointed home on Grass Lake (literally just steps outside the door). Comfortable beds, excellent water pressure in the showers. We would definitely stay there again!

You're always welcome back! Thank you for staying with us.
The sandy bottom swim area was perfect for our kids. The fishing along the canal provided hours of entertainment too. Loved seeing turtles, fish, frogs, sandhill cranes, deer.
Well equipped cozy home with room for our multigenerational family to spread out. Kids enjoyed being able to swim off the deck. Sunsets were spectacular. Check out process was easy. In all a relaxing family vacation as described.
This beautiful lake house includes lots of great amenities that you will only discover if you make the effort to ask host Ted! Don’t hesitate to engage in a conversation about how to maximize your enjoyment while in Grass Lake! Inside the detached garage are 3 kayaks and lots of floaties that we never would have found if we hadn’t talked to Ted. And our favorite attraction in the area was most definitely the Arboretum, hiking trails and incredible Sky Walk at Hidden Lake Gardens.
We had an amazing stay at this home. It had plenty of room, the common spaces worked well and the outdoor spaces were fantastic! Enjoyed the fire pit and several beautiful sunsets!
Thank you for the nice review Kameron, we hope you come back for another stay at Mack Island!

Property is located on Wolf Lake with water access to Little Wolf Lake and Olcott Lake. Butterfield's boat rental is a short walk down the road. This place checks all the boxes!
House was great for our group and very well set up for guests. Everything was in great shape. Upstairs lake side bathroom had really rusty colored water.
We brought a group of old friends together for a long weekend on the lake. We were able to spread out and relax, take walks on nearby trails, cook large meals together, and sit around the fire in the evening. Great place to get away:

Lovely view! Great layout, we rented a boat and used the float tube that is provided with the cottage, everyone had a blast tubing around for hours! the kitchen is large and well equipped, we had plenty of room even with ten people. The sunset views are the best!

Perfect for our group event!
The house was perfect for our NYE family/friends celebration! The open floor plan and lake views were great! And the owner was very hospitable. The accommodations and number of bathrooms were just right! Aside from a few summer cobwebs :) and finding the driveway, this place was great!

The house was very nice and comfortable. The only downside was the water pressure was extremely poor so had to stager dishwashing and showers throughout the day. Did not do any laundry so don’t know how that would work. Parking was a bit tight but we made it work. Could use some instructions as to how the TV worked. Never got it working (not even the grandkids) but really didn’t need it. The outside property was very accommodating and the lake was great for boating and fishing. Could have used a few chairs on the balcony but the gazebo worked out great. I feel that the owner would have been very accommodating if we had the need to contact him. The Klimas Family

Sylvia,
Thank you for the response, I appreciate the feedback. We’ve upgraded the TV to something much easier to use! The water pressure issue has been resolved and we plan on adding some seating to the balconies. Thank you for staying with us and you’re always welcome back.

The house was as advertised. Clean, roomy, great views, nice deck, and nice gazebo. Owner had a canoe and kayaks on site, as well as a rentable pontoon. All of this made our family vacation much better than anticipated. Adults and kids enjoyed themselves immensely. Would definitely do it again.
Great property right in front if lake. Kayaks and boats to use. Rented boat and went to awesome sand bar to swim kids swam right of pier. We had a grear time. House soacioua and comfortable. Beds coukd be sifter
Very nice and clean. We rented a boat from Butterfeilds Marina and had a great time fishing and swimming. The kids all caught panfish on worms from the property.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Martin! Thanks for the great review.
Wonderful 4 days with family! Celebrated my FIL's 90th birthday with my husbands 2 brothers and wives. Plenty of room for all 8 of us. And having a 1st floor bedroom/bathroom was perfect for inlaws. Home was very clean and comfortable. So close to the water and beautiful view anytime of day. Loved sitting in the gazebo and watching the stunning sunsets. Rented a pontoon from Butterfields and enjoyed having itvdocked right at our back door. Already talking about coming back next year!

Beautiful home on quaint lake
The home is beautifully decorated on a quiet lake in Michigan. It easily accommodated two families with 5 young kids. Easy access to Ann Arbor and other surrounding small towns. The owner was friendly and great to work with. Responded to our requests quickly and came out to the house promptly when the water pump stopped working. When we booked the house it was not clear that the house had no air conditioning and we weren't informed of this until a day before our arrival. Would recommend including this in the description and including tower fans on the first floor. May not be the best location for small kids if walking and a
play ground are a necessity. Overall we had a nice stay.

This house was really lovely and much larger inside than the photos give credit for and made for an awesome long weekend away from the city.
A couple of notes (not necessarily complaints) on the property:
- the lawn is very small and sloped, so it's not really a great space for lawn games, etc. as the water is very close
- there were only 1-2 very old and mostly busted lawn chairs aside from the small old wooden ones shown. recommend bringing your own stadium chairs, etc.
- the master bedroom never really cools down. we had the a/c blasting, fans, blinds closed, everything, and it just couldn't keep up with the sun. the rest of the house did cool down nicely, though - definitely keep the curtains in the living room closed all day.
- the gas grill and charcoal grill are very small. It was fine for our group of 5, but a large group would take a while or need to use both
- bring your own condiments; we usually expect there to be some leftover from other guests but the kitchen was empty aside from a few spices
- pots/pans/etc. are scarce and a bit dated as some others mentioned
- there is a neighbor directly to your left so the property isn't entirely private
- the sand bar in the lake is awesome and hopping. we stopped every day and anchored off and hung out. It ranges from 2-4 feet deep in places and is mostly a very pleasant sandy bottom
- firewood is not provided
- there are extra towels in the cupboard in the master, however they're all white and old and not formal beach towels just to be aware
- renting from Butterfield's Landing is not an awesome process. they take cash only, don't document things properly (or at all - you won't get any confirmation and they don't do anything online), and change up when they're available at their own discretion. we were told we could drop off first thing Sunday and not be charged, only for him to tell me that he wouldn't be there until 1 on Sunday, so I had to pay for a half-day. Not what I was told when I rented but not a humongous deal. Just be sure you put things in explicit, clear writing with them.

Thank you for the constructive feedback Colleen. This helps up enhance future guest experiences. Lawn chairs will be updated and restocked, as well as pots and pans. As for the condiments, this is a non-owner occupied property so we do not keep perishable items such as food/condiments on property and to also uphold an environment that is clean, safe and free of potential food allergies for all our guests. Also, we do want to make note that we are in no way affiliated with Butterfields boat rental, but we will make a note to future guests that they only accept cash so they can be more prepared. Thanks again Colleen and we hope to have you back next summer to relax in our new lawn chairs :)
The property was a little smaller than I thought it looked from the picture. Took a minute to figure out how to get to the parking location for the property. Parking area was very small. Other than that it was a great house and we had a great time on and in the water. Accomidations were just right for our family.

Grammatico Real Estate LLC is a family owned and operated company that specializes in rental properties. For over 30 years the Grammatico family has been working in the Ann Arbor area and building their portfolio. We have always enjoyed the water and living in Michigan it's a must that you spend your summers on a lake. We decided to expand our portfolio even further and offer Summer rentals as a way to give people like us, the chance to enjoy what they love without the hassle.
Why they chose this property
This property was custom built by the owner of Grammatico Real Estate LLC- Ted Grammatico. Ted has been a builder/developer in the Ann Arbor area for over 30 years. Ted built this home for his family as a personal lake home but as the kids got older and moved out of state it lacked the attention it needed. Ted hand picked this property, floor plan, and details. He envisioned the perfect space for a waterfront home and brought it to life. It will be impossible not to feel the same vision Ted had when you walk into this home. The panoramic views are expansive, the breezes are gentle, and the lake is peaceful.
