Communication with the host was easy and questions were answered quickly. The location is great with a very short drive into town while still feeling miles away from the chaos.
Great views and a very family friendly property! Our toddler was very appreciative of the windows to watch the trees, birds, and nature. The weather was a bit too poorly for us to use the outdoor amenities, but we loved the coziness of the interior very much. The only complaint we had was that the only bedroom with an overhead fan was the queen bed, and with the toddler we had to use the king, so it got just a bit warm. All in all, we are very pleased with our stay!
Nice home that worked well for our stay. Lake access involves a steep climb, but we would book again for the view and location, which was central to all that we wanted to do when visiting the area. It was nice to have the hot tub on some of the cooler nights. Fenced backyard would be great if you travel with pets or young children. We saw deer in the yard beyond the fence on several occasions. Furniture by the fire pit is weathered and in need of repair or replacement.
We had a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful and fit our family perfectly. The backyard and the scenic lake access was amazing. We did however expect to have a bit more swimming access, but the listing does accurately describe what was available. The only suggestion I would make is there was not enough towels for our family of 8, we could only find 5 towels. We made it work though and truly enjoyed our stay!!
We booked this property for the lake access. There is NO LAKE ACCESS! I wish a past review would have told us that there is NO LAKE access. Yes, there is a VERY STEEP trail that goes to the lake but it is overgrown with weeds/grass/ticks and trees. You CAN NOT get in the lake. It is a jump from the rocks and no way to get out. The picture from the look out tower is not access to the lake. You can not see the lake from the house or the trail because of all of the overgrown trees. In the summer you would never know the lake is there. I did ask about the lake access and was told to follow the trail to get into the lake. Frig doesn't make ice or water so bring both. The oval bath tub is a very awkward shower. The chairs at the firepit are very dangerous and falling apart. The nails are sticking out of the wood. The decks were dirty and still had all the dead fall leaves. The patio cushions are filthy. They need to be cleaned/replaced and covered when not used. That should be part of the cleaning. We did have issues at the house. The shower (no cold water only very hot), clogged bathtub and the hot tub full of sand and dirty. The place wasn't very clean considering you pay a cleaning fee. We did contact the company. Great communication. They sent Billy. He was AWESOME! He could not fix the hot tub as it would need to be emptied and cleaned but he did get us a working shower and unclog the bathtub. It is a cute house and a good amount of space, it just needs some TLC.
