Less than a mile to the ocean beach and boardwalk in Asbury Park, this elegant three-bedroom Dutch Colonial house sits right on a lake providing the ideal vacation getaway!

Recently renovated with all the amenities: fully-equipped and brand new kitchen, large outdoor grill, indoor and outdoor dining areas, comfy living room with large flatscreen tv, AppleTV loaded with apps, stereo, phonograph with vinyl record collection, fireplace, three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, central air conditioning, laundry facilities, plenty of street parking. Great Wi-Fi.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an in-suite bathroom featuring a gorgeous bear claw tub and a separate stand-up shower with waterfall head. The larger guest bedroom also has a queen-sized bed and the second guest bedroom has two twin beds. These two guest bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. All bedrooms are upstairs. Conveniently there is a third half-bathroom downstairs just off of the kitchen.

Private backyard features large deck just perfect for relaxing mornings with coffee and a book, afternoon cocktails and elegant evening dinners. A dozen steps down to a private landing right on Deal Lake, a great place to lounge, birdwatch, relax on the comfy loveseat glider, fish in the lake or set off on the 2-person canoe!

Just 50 miles from Manhattan and easily reachable by car or train, Asbury Park is well known for its outstanding restaurants, shopping, boardwalk, nightlife and live music venues including the famous Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, The Saint and the recently renovated Asbury Lanes (not to be missed).

Adult bikes are available on the property for getting around town easily.

Please know that there is a strict no-party policy in place for this property. No more than 10 guests are allowed on the property at any one time (unless prior permission has been arranged). I have the loveliest of neighbors, and I expect guests to be thoughtful neighbors to them. After 10pm is outside quiet time. Thank you!

Charming and comfortable home with all the amenities in a great location-the neighborhood was quiet but very walkable/bike-able to the beach and downtown restaurants. I stayed with three generations of my family and we all loved the house. Dan, the owner was amazingly accommodating and had great tips on food and entertainment.

Absolutely gorgeous property. The lake view from the covered deck is wonderful. Convenient to the beach and quiet. House had everything we needed for our stay. Owners were available, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

My family stayed for the thanksgiving weekend. The house was so cozy and the lake views were even prettier in person. Every morning there was a group of men kayaking on the lake . We walked to the beach every day. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. We didn’t use the outside because it was too cold but in summer and early fall I imagine sitting down close to the lake is so pleasant . The house has everything you need and we did not have to reach out to the host for anything and when i did reach out prior to arrival , Dan answered promptly. If you like to cook the kitchen will have all you need . we are hoping to come back during summer or fall of next year.

Lakeside house

Beautiful, well-stocked Lakeside house. Clean, quiet and easy to find. Was able to walk the neighborhood with no problems. Very relaxing porch views. Dog friendly. Owner was easily available via email or text.

Asbury Paradise

The home itself was very clean, relaxing and was enjoyed by family ranging from the seventies to below ten years of age. The children loved making smores on the fire by the lake and laughing at the geese. Neighborhood was very quiet and people were very accommodating. Dan was very responsive and also gave great recommendations on places to eat and things to see. It would not be the same without him. Thanks for sharing this experience with my Family. Jim

Home Again

We absolutely loved it here. And very much want to come back Christmas week next year. It was the loveliest, most comfortable place we’ve ever stayed. Honestly, we were all a bit concerned that Christmas would feel odd this year. We moved and downsized considerably in July. Had had 26 Christmases in our old house - the only home our adult children have ever really known. We spent many hours looking for just the right space … all agree that this week felt like real home. Dan couldn’t have made things easier, more comfortable or more beautiful. We cannot thank him enough … already counting the days until we can go back.

First visit to New Jersey

We loved everything about this house. The setting is perfect on the lake. The yard is beautifully landscaped. The house is perfect. It was more than we needed for just the two of us. We used the porch more than any part of the house. It overlooks the lake. We had coffee there every morning and cocktails there every evening. Dan left us inflormation about the town that was very helpful. Thanks Dan for making this trip possible for us.

Gorgeous, Peaceful Lakehouse, close to ocean, shopping, dining

Cannot emphasize enough how comfortable and well-equipped this home is — perfect for cozy stays or as a home base for beach and town visits. Views of the lake and lake wildlife from almost every vantage point in the house, unobstructed views from the gorgeous and comfortable porch. This house includes row boat and life vests for journeying out on the lake. As gorgeous as the pictures! Ideal kitchen for beginner and skilled cooks, alike! Plenty of supplies (towels/chairs, etc.) for beach visits — beach and historical boardwalk (including Stone Pony music club!!) just over a mile away. Even in winter, the coziness of this home is perfect for watching the snow fall or seeing the seagulls and other water birds enjoy the partially frozen lake. Dan, the owner, is a very gracious and responsive host — willing to field any questions or needs that may arise. For my extended stay in this home (2 months +) I did not experience any difficulties or problems with this property. All bedrooms (3), bathrooms (2.5) are welcoming, comfortable, well-appointed with amenities (master bath is especially spacious), brightly decorated with cheerful decor. Washer and dryer in basement are handy & well-stocked with supplies. Safe, well cared for neighborhood, ample parking (driveway, street). Overall a wonderful place to relax or plan your next adventure to beach or beyond! I give this home my highest recommendation for peaceful getaways to active family adventures. Loved it!

Beautiful Place for a Beautiful Vacation

What’s not to love about this place? An idyllic setting on Deal Lake, this house was our perfect vacation getaway, where we felt indulged but at home from the moment we entered. Dan treated us to a delightful welcome basket, which included a comprehensive guide to the house, flyers for some of the local venues, a map of the area, a bottle of sparkling wine, and the way straight to my heart: a bag of locally roasted coffee. We were immediately in love. Visually, the house is well-captured in the photos, with its inviting and mod decor. The blue couch is super comfortable for cozying up to watch a movie, as is the mattress in the master bedroom. (Incidentally, I slept better at Dan’s house than I have in a while! Dan: what kind of mattress is that? lol!) Modern conveniences (e.g., keyless entry, NEST thermostat, hi-definition television with all kinds of options) complement the home’s original charm (hardwood floors, glass doorknobs), and we happily took advantage of everything. We played Scrabble (I dominated! haha!), listened to a bunch of nostalgic records from Dan’s collection, cooked in the amazingly well-appointed kitchen (and on that incredible grill, too), lounged for hours on the porch, made friends with some misfit ducks, built a fire down by the lake (so romantic!), and even took out the canoe a couple of times. We really fell in love! And while we stayed in more than we went out, the house is perfectly located to explore the ever developing Asbury Park ... and only a short drive/cab-ride to the coast (and Silverball PINBALL :)). We spent the most amazing week and a half here that we’ll always remember. If you’re planning a trip to Asbury Park, this is the place to stay. Thank you for everything, Dan!

Wonderful Stay!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The house is unique in that it is located directly on the lake yet you are about 1-1.5 miles from the beach. We found it to be very peaceful sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee or glass of vino watching the ducks swim in the lake and the squirrels chasing each other around the yard. The boardwalk is also located nearby which had some great restaurants and also allowed us to walk off all of the delicious food whenever we were done eating... lol! Lastly, I would like to comment that Dan(the owner) was phenomenal. He touched based with me on several occasions prior and during our stay to make sure that we were comfortable. He had a list(via email and printed copy) of recommendations for restaurants and other things to do. He also provided us with a welcome bag filled with all sorts of goodies that was very much enjoyed and appreciated. This place is a nice little gem that provided the rest & relaxation that my family needed for a week. We would definitely consider coming back again!

Tranquil environment along the lake

I had a wonderful experience. The home was the peaceful environment I was looking for and perfect for a small intimate dinner party with friends. I had the unexpected treat of watching beautiful birds and turtles hangout daily in front of the home. It was also only 5 minutes from the beach and Asbury Boardwalk.

Perfect getaway in Asbury

We had the best time at this beautiful home in Asbury - on one of the prettiest blocks in town. Dan’s home is so stylish and unique for a rental home - feels like you are in a boutique hotel! Vintage games and records! Really cool mid century furniture and a great assortment of books. The outside setting is magical. We spent so many days and evenings on the back deck and sitting by the lake. Within minutes you are at the beach or in downtown Asbury with so many great restaurants. We are so glad we stayed at this gem and experienced Asbury this way!

Amazing house and location

We spent a wonderful month at this property. The house was very clean and exactly as depicted. It was very comfortable and the kitchen was even better stocked than we were expecting. The back porch was just amazing. We will miss the views, canoeing, and fishing out back. The location was great as well. Best VRBO we’ve stayed at!

Highly Recommend!

My family loved staying at Dan's home. The house offers a lovely respite as it sits on a quiet inlet with egrets, herons, and the occasional kayaker or fisherman passing by. At the same time, we were less than a mile from the beach. We spent a lot of time outside on the porch reading, talking, and sharing meals. Dan has updated his home beautifully and we felt very comfortable watching TV, listening to his albums, and cooking together in the kitchen and using the new grill. Dan communicated well with us before we arrived and left us wine and chocolate for our arrival. The AC works very well which helped when the weather was 90 degrees. We were able to get food deliveries from Wegman's and from Whole Foods--and from local restaurants(the doughnuts from Purple Glazed are amazing!) We are already looking forward to returning for another vacation. Thanks, Dan!

Lovely house in a beautiful setting

We loved our stay in Dan's gorgeous, comfortable house. The kitchen has everything a cook could possibly need, the living room and big-screen television were perfect for our movie nights, and the view of the lake from most rooms made us happy every time we looked out. We used the bikes to explore the pretty neighborhoods nearby, and to get over to the beach for walks. Dan even left us a welcome gift of wine and coffee and chocolate. It was a great place to self-isolate for a. month!

This Place is Paradise!

We just returned from Asbury Park and this lovely, charming home. We were drawn to this rental by the pictures of the beautiful house and lake, and it absolutely delivered!! I just can't think of one thing that was not available in the home. As others have mentioned, sitting on the porch by the lake was the best part. Dan, the owner, is fantastic! He will send you all of the information that you need in a clear, concise way that I really appreciated. He is easily reached, very attentive and will provide a lot of recommendations for a great stay in Asbury. This home is a short distance from the beach and many good restaurants. Thanks, Dan, for a great vacation!

Beautiful home with easy access to all the wonderful Jersey beaches

Dan has a very charming home and covers all the little details that make for a very enjoyable stay. Dan clearly wants to make sure that you are comfortable in his house and enjoy all that the surrounding areas offer. In addition, he is attentive and responsive during your visit, promptly answering any questions or helping with any issues you may have. While he takes care of all the basics that you expect, it's done in a first class manner. His home was extremely clean and very well maintained. Some of the things I didn't expect, but thoroughly enjoyed, were the use of bikes for my entire family, going for a canoe ride, enjoying drinks by the lake, and the use of a vinyl record player and extensive collection of records. . . brought me back a bit. It turned a beach week into much more. Dan's house allows you to enjoy the beautiful Jersey shore in wonderful accommodations at a reasonable price. I look forward to a return visit next year!

Dan spoils you with comforts!

We felt spoiled! Dan's home is clean, bright, comfortable and has it's own personality. Vinyl records & eclectic books at the ready. With 2 families sharing the home for early spring get away, we had plenty of room and everything needed to turn the long weekend into one of poignant memories. The bathrooms are spotless, with white boarding and even on old claw foot tub. The rather romantic master overlooks the lake where egrets nest. We saw turtles, blue heron, ducks and geese without leaving the porch! If the home and all the special touches are so much fun in the spring, we can only think how it would be in the summer when beach swimming is added to the mix! Thank you for the welcoming flowers, the linens and beds made, the towels, the goodies in the kitchen to make cooking easier and having all the comfy hang out spots to sit! Highly recommend this home!! (Don't miss Silverball pin ball gallery either)

PERFECT EXPERIENCE!!!

Wouldn't change a thing! This is our second time at the house. The house is perfectly quaint and fully equipped with everything you can need. Great location on the lake, short distance to the beach. The owner, Dan could not have been more accommodating. SO helpful, attentive and courteous. All around great time! We will definitely be back!

Perfect Family Vacation

This house was a perfect fit for our family vacation which included my husband, myself and our adult children. It is a beautiful setting and a tastefully decorated home that you'll fall in love with the moment you enter. You could live on the backporch with a gorgeous view of Lake Deal. The owners are great to deal with and are responsive to any questions or concerns you may have. Take a canoe ride on the lake, a short trip to the beach, convenient to shopping. A gem of a spot for a vacation with friends and/or family!

Fantastic vacation at the shore

We recently completed a 5 day stay at this terrific lakeside cottage in Asbury Park. The house was spotless when we arrived and is well equipped and spacious enough for 6 people - there were 3 adults and 3 children in our party. The house is in a great location, quiet and private, and only a 5 minute drive to the beach. We grilled and ate outside on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake at the back of the property, and had fun fishing (everyone caught something!). We have been to Asbury Park before and once again had fun on the beach,some great meals out, and relaxing walks on the boardwalk. The owner was a gracious host and provided all the information we needed to have a great vacation. Highly recommended!
