No BS in the listing description. This cabin is as advertised!

Critical stuff first:

The road leading up the mountain is marked with a street sign, and easy to find. The path the road travels up the mountain is not as easy to follow, as it is no wider in places than an average driveway, and there are no more street signs on the way up. There are places where it's not easy to decide which way to go on the ascent, and a wrong decision will mean backing out of someone's driveway. Once you figure it all out, you just need to be aware of one other thing. If you have a very long vehicle, it is necessary to nail the turn in point for each corner, as otherwise you may have to make some corners into two point turns to stay on the road. I had a full size crew cab pick-up with an eight foot bed. Using the designated turn around spot of the cabin's shared driveway requires three to four careful back and forth maneuvers in a vehicle this large, and turn around you must. There will be no backing out of this lane folks!

To be very picky, for those who fancy themselves videophiles, the TV cable service would be better in HD Digital. There is a good selection of channels, but they are supplied via coaxial cable in analog 4:3 screen size at a maximum of 480i, and must be altered for best fit on a 16:9 screen size. Also being picky, maybe the second bedroom could go from a queen to a king next time the bed needs replacing? These last two were NOT problems, just call it a wish for the future?

The fun stuff:

This cabin is beautiful.

The view is very good.

The furnishings are comfortable.

Of the things we used during our visit, there was nothing to report that needed repair, and that is amazing in a rental of any kind!

The hot tub was very nice, and put to use daily. I'd love to add some curtains or Venetian blinds on the door to the deck for privacy from the people inside the cabin.

Running the ceiling fans in the house better circulates the air, and the A/C works very well. That's probably good advice for the winter too!

It was the best stocked kitchen of all the home rentals or timeshare condos we've ever visited. Bring a few tall kitchen trash bags and your food, and you'll be set for the week! We were a party of two couples, and had plenty of privacy in the bedrooms the way this cabin is layed out.

We all agreed that we would be happy to stay here again!

Great Place for the family, somewhat hard to find, pets not so much.

  • 4 of 5

Overall had a very good stay. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Upon arriving to the neighborhood we had a very hard time finding the home. Once we found it we loved the location! We felt secluded from the rest of the neighborhood.

We were in Sevierville for a softball tournament so that required me to have a trailer to carry the teams equipment. The neighborhood roads leading to the house are one way and pretty tight to navigate with a trailer. Once we arrived at the house it was very difficult to park the trailer and turn around in the drive way.

The house was very clean and we were happy with kitchen and bathroom supplies. The house is located close enough to town to be there quickly with easy access to grocery stores and local attractions. The view is wonderful from the porch and the hot tub worked great!

With the house being pet friendly we were able to bring our 2 dogs. The only problem we had was the house doesn't have very much open area(what open area that is there is just dirt) around it as it is on the side of the mountain. This made it difficult to get the dogs to go outside and use the bathroom. We had to keep them on the leash as we saw several bears in the area and of course wanted to keep them safe. Several houses in the neighborhood have small yards that were within walking distance as long as you did not mind climbing a very steep driveway.

I am giving 4 out of 5 because of the couple of issues mentioned above. None of them are game changers though as I would stay at this house again. Winter months with snow on the ground could be a little slippery with the grades of the roads but absolutely enjoyed our stay.

What more could you say about the view, except it was breath-taking. The location was perfect to all entertainment, including rides, restaurants, shopping, groceries. The cabin was very clean, spacious, the beds were very comfortable. Aleta , the owner, was always right there by phone, to answer any question of any importance. Felt safe, but secure, only one neighbour, lots of privacy. Thanks again Lynne@Dean Pointon.
