Great place for us. Had 10 adults and 10 kids ages 6 months to 11.
Great place, but the blinds need to be repaired and or replaced.
One bedroom window had nothing on it, so the morning sun
was very bright. Had to put blankets to cover the light. Ice maker did not work.
But otherwise we were very satisfied with the property.
Perfect for what we needed!
This place was perfect for what we needed. We had 19 people ranging in age from 3 thru 60+ coming together to spend Thanksgiving together. We read the reviews ahead of time and came prepared with plastic/paper ware as well as a few extra towels. There was a small grocery store in town that met whatever need we did not come prepared for (laundry detergent, perishable grocery items). We slept comfortably and pretty much all had easy, convenient access to a bathroom. The house is very close to town and the slopes. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it was clean (not immaculate - the cabinets could use wiping down and it was dusty). We didn't have any issues with things not working.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen were basically clean. Windows very dirty. Dusty throughout. Coffee pot very crudy throughout - given new one. Short on silverware - only 4 teaspoons, 13 forks, for 20. Ice maker did not work. Two ceiling fans not working. Garage door opener totally broke on one side. Trash in garage dangerous for young children. Could not fish from backyard as no grass and you fell in the stream if you went thru the gate on fence. Not enough towel sets for our group. Staff cooperative and then very uncooperative.
We are very sorry that you felt we were uncooperative. In the beginning of your stay, you brought us a list of things to bring to our attention (some things in this review were not in that list). To avoid disturbing your vacation, we waited until after you departed to send over our maintenance man to address the issues you brought to us. Most of our guests looking for a rustic mountain experience have really enjoyed this home and have booked it for years. We are located in a small mountain town, so meeting the desires of all of our unique guests can be difficult, especially when remote mountain conditions are taken into consideration. Sometimes we do fall short, but we try our best to accommodate our guests. Red River is a beautiful mountain town where a lot of people come to escape the chaos of city life, a rustic place where they can sit outside and enjoy the sights of the mountains and the sounds of nature. We appreciate all feedback, positive as well as negative, so we can continue to improve and provide our guests with the best stay possible.
We are in the heart of the Carson National Forest. We are at an elevation of 8650. Fresh air, mountain views, ATV trails, Hiking and skiing are just a few of our many activities to enjoy!
