Hello from Jacksonville. Conveniently located near San Marco and I-95. f you are in town for a football game, attending to medical related needs at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic, UF Shands Hospital or in town to visit family or here for business purposes, you’ve found a completely private, fully equipped and fully furnished 'all yours' house. Located near many tasty restaurants and two major grocery stores.

Pets are considered on a case by case basis. One dog less than 20 lbs. is preferred. I strive to afford a squeaky clean house, free of any pet dander. Tell me everything about your pet, breed, temperament, treated for fleas, etc. I will charge more for cleaning and perhaps a pet fee depending on circumstances.

If convenience and location are key then you have found your comfy house.

ACCOMMODATIONS: This is a very cozy three bedroom house, hardwood floors, two full baths, one for the master (shower) and one for everyone else (bath tub). Two of the bedrooms include a luxury queen bed, large closet, chest of drawers, ceiling fan, bedside table with lamp. The third bedroom has a double bed. It also has a large closet. Each bedroom contains a ceiling fan. The fully furnished eat in kitchen has a table and two chairs, all new appliances with a large refrigerator, dishwasher and electric stove. The large living room has a sofa and matching love seat with a large flat screen TV with DVD. A separate dining room has a table that seats 4. The dining room has a large window to the private back yard with a door that opens to a completely fenced large back yard. The yard is recently landscaped with a large patio area. Lawn chairs and a gas grill are available for your use. A small room off the patio contains the washer and dryer.

PREMISES: The covered car port allows for two cars. Shirl Lane is a narrow residential street thus parking for more than 2 vehicles is not available. There is no street parking.

OWNER OPERATED: Owner lives less than two miles away and can be reached at all times by cell phone.

CENTRAL LOCATION: The house is on the corner of Shirl Lane and San Jose Blvd., a major north south artery. Shirl Lane is residential. A very small office park with Monday through Friday business hours is directly across the street.

CAVEATS: This is a strictly non smoking residence. You are welcome to smoke outside but your courtesy is requested to discard cigarette butts in a proper trash receptacle.

Please read the pet caveat. Yard is fenced.

Cozy and perfect location!

We stayed for about 5 weeks in between moves and this was perfect for us. The location is great as it offers close access to San Marco and Mandarin, as well as I-95 and JTB. The house is exactly as described with comfy beds and 2 full baths. Suzanne (owner) was excellent and very communicative. We would not hesitate to stay again!

Lengthy stay

I was in Jax for medical treatment and stayed in this house for about 40 nights. The experience was excellent for me, my wife and our dog. The hosts were outstanding and immediately responsive to the minor questions and issues we had. The house is located in a great location and is close to many great restaurants, shopping areas, grocery stores and highways. The price was very fair. I highly recommend it.

This house has everything -- hosts are the BEST!!

Everything you could possible want or need comes with this house -- dishwasher, laundry room with washer and dryer, nicely landscaped back yard, big TV and WiFi, three great bedrooms and two tiled bathrooms. It was perfect for being near downtown Jax and easy access to highway for the beach!! Fred and Sue and the greatest hosts -- they will respond to what you need but not bother you at other times. You can tell they care about the guests and they care about how the house accommodates their needs. I would rent from them again when I am in Jacksonville.

Home away from home

We needed a stay in the Jacksonville area for many weeks for a medical treatment. This home was the perfect fit. It was in a quiet location, but close to everything including great restaurants and only a short drive to the Proton Center each day. My husband called the house a "great old North Florda home", wood floors and all. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at home when we wanted. The yard was completely fenced and even had a sitting area with shade. The host was very receptive and any issue was addressed the same day. Clean, Quiet, & Comfortable Home Away From Home

We were recently doing a remodel on our home and needed a place to stay. Suzanne went out of her way to get us into the house on Shirl Lane quickly and what a great experience! We stayed here for a month and it was the closest to home we could've expected. The house is clean and fully stocked with everything you could need while renting! Beds are comfy and the neighborhood was nice & offered all we needed. We only had one issue with a running toilet - the owners were responsive & fixed it within 24 hours. The internet/TV were excellent and I was able to create a quiet and productive home office during my stay. I would highly recommend this house as a local rental (long or short term).

Premier host

Property was listed accurately, listing all of the pertinent details and information. The host was both very responsive and quick to action with anything necessary, which was very little that was within her control, was well as quick action on an issue that was totally out of her control.She had it resolved within 8 hours - overnight. The home is well equipped, and it was a real bonus to have a lot of necessities supplied, like aluminum foil, wax paper, plastic wrap, dishwasher pods, condiments, and much, much more. What a pleasant surprise. The home is very conveniently located. The host is totally transparent about both the location, the street, which really is a lovely lane, and any restrictions required - i.e. parking. There was ample parking for myself and a guest who had a car. There is a double carport and depending on the size of vehicles (I had an SUV), 2 cars can fit in the carport. Neighbours were friendly. The lane is a great spot to walk a pet. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Excellent house and host and hostess

First walk thru was “wow we did well”. The decorating of home was very cute. Fred and Suzanne were very responsive to any requests. The fenced in yard was a godsend for having our Great Dane with us. There was a doggy daycare within a block that was excellent. The location was great close to grocery stores and restaurants. The neighborhood felt safe and next door neighbors were quite friendly. An ideal home away from home

We were flooded out of our house by Hurricane Irma and needed housing for an unknown amount of time. How fortunate we were to find the house at 1502 Shirl Lane! For the next 3 ½ months it was a cozy and comfortable “home away from home” for the two of us and our sweet dog Curley. The house is thoughtfully outfitted, not only with furniture, bedding, and linen, but also the kitchen has everything necessary for either a long or short stay. The decorative pieces add a sense of whimsy and demonstrate the landlord’s care in decorating the house. A fenced back yard makes the house ideal for pets. You couldn’t ask for better landlords than Suzanne and Fred. They immediately respond to any problem and have it fixed in no time. They want to make sure that all is going well without being the least bit intrusive. In short, they were wonderful! The house is conveniently located in Jacksonville, not far from the hospitals, downtown and stores. We strongly recommend this rental house.

Overall, excellent place to stay!! Nicely remodeled, centrally located house which is fully furnished and equipped so feels like a home away from home. Perfect for a couple's getaway or for larger groups looking for a cute and convenient space. Beautiful backyard, very serene for sipping a morning cup of tea and perfect for barbeques and entertaining. House and décor is inviting and comfortable beds provide for a great nights' rest. Grocery store and many restaurants very close, less than a five minute walk. Or take a short drive to visit the amazing shops, restaurants, and breweries in San Marco Square, Riverside/Five Points, and downtown Jacksonville. Several parks nearby with a couple providing water access to the St. Johns River. Would stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to the Jacksonville area!

You might say my husband and I are of advanced age, LOL, as we are both in our early 60's but still on the go. We have one daughter who is a full time student at FSU. We both work full time and we get out of town when we can. We have enjoyed being a guest at other VRBO properties and thus know first hand the importance of giving every detail attention. We like hiking, every flavor of water sports and looking for fossils, mostly shark teeth. We have a dog, Panda, border collie. She is also of advanced age. Thank you for visiting.

Why they chose this property

This is a special and very well cared for property. As you can see we have owned it almost 20 years. It's been a residential rental all those years but we are not property managers. Both my husband and I have day jobs. We just fixed up and updated this cozy house and did most of the work ourselves. We are very familiar with every square inch. In other words we are about the property and that translates to, we care about you. It's important to us that you enjoy the property to the fullest and that whatever brings you to Jacksonville that you find 1502 Shirl to be everything it should be.

What makes this property unique

Our house is centrally located to town and easily accessible to all major roadways. Shopping is 5 minutes away with two major grocery stores and good restaurants. The beach is a direct shot via expressway.
