Wonderful on-the-beach property
My family and I just spent 10 wonderful days in paradise in this tranquil, beautiful property. The online photos do not do justice to this surprisingly spacious villa whic has a large footprint on the best beach in Barbados. The beach is literally a step from the villa and who needs a pool when the warm clear waters of the Caribbean is on your doorstep. The large jacuzzi is an added bonus. Kayak and water boards are provided. The views are spectacular and not only is the beach location superb but also the proximity to the towns of Speightstown and Holetown is excellent being a short drive to each.
The wonderful staff at La Lune is what really makes this place. The cook Marcia and the housekeeper Jan are fantastic! They are friendly, efficient and very welcoming. Marcia’s Cooking is the best!!
We will definitely go back.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay so much! Thank you for the nice feedback :)
La Lune is a great hideaway !!!
Lovely villa with beachfront access. The beach here is beautiful and its where you will stay all day. Refreshing hot tub and eating area also with great views of the Caribbean sunset every night.
World class experience, we will be back!
Great Location and we found it to be great value
Great rental. Its just been renovated and you’d know it. We are already looking at dates for later this year. Yvonne thank you for the recommendation. Everything was just as you said it would be. We appreciate that.
Super villa right on our favourite beach! We booked last minute & took a leap of faith which paid off. Wow the sunsets! Lovely staff & just a brilliant location. I’d highly recommend.
This is our Home From Home
We were so delighted with La Lune. The location is just idyllic – I can’t tell you how many hours we spent just bathing in the sea & relaxing on the beach. My wife loved walking along the beach. Cheryl prepared delicious meals for us. Thanks to Julie for the restaurant recommendations – our favourite was The Tides. The new owners have done a great job on La Lune – we found it modern & chic. My favourite spot is the deck – watching the world go by on Gibbs!
We feel like we’ve found our home from home in Barbados.
Barbados is a spectacular tropical island that is famous for its pristine white sandy beaches, calm turquoise sea, English colonial history, festive street life, exceptional restaurants, and some of the best luxury vacation rentals in the Caribbean. The island is relatively flat, with a few gently rolling hills to the north. Along the east coast the trade winds blow up lively surfs and the sea pounds the rocky shoreline. The west coast is much calmer; it is lined with fine white sand and natural coral reefs- ideal for snorkeling.
MULLINS BAY AND GIBBS BAY
Mullins Bay beach is one of the most popular on the island. It is located to the north of the famed platinum west coast of Barbados and comprises of a perfect crescent shaped tropical beach with pristine white sand and calm turquoise waters. Mullins Bay beach is one of the best places on the island to enjoy water sports and you can hire jet-skis here too.
One of the most popular spots on the Island is the famed Mullins Beach Bar. It truly is an institution and one of the most popular beach bars in Barbados and throughout the Caribbean. It serves some of the Bajan classics such as flying fish and Shrimp Roti as well as a host of other delicious bites. It is particularly popular for sunset cocktails and for Sunday Brunch. Mullins Beach Bar also features live music and DJs on certain days. Just north of Mullins Beach is Bombas which is a very popular laid back beach bar serving tasty snacks and drinks.
Connected to Mullins Beach is the equally beautiful and slightly quieter Gibbs Beach in the Parish of St Peter. It is a pristine white sandy beach with beautiful waters making it the most perfect swimming location on the island. There are also some large trees on the beach providing wonderful natural shade. As there is very little public access to Gibbs beach the villas that are lucky enough to be directly on the beach have the benefit of what feels like an almost entirely private beach.
The area has a really excellent spa called The Indulgent Spa should you fancy some pampering. It is run by Royal Westmoreland and is located almost directly opposite the beach at Mullins Bay. They offer a whole range of facials, massages and beauty treatments.
Located in Carlton is The Shell house and a must visit for any keen shell collector. It probably has the best selection of shells for sale anywhere in the Caribbean. The shells themselves come from all over the world. There is also some fabulous art on display by well known artist Maureen Edghill.
