Loved it

  • 5 of 5

The home was very comfortable and we enjoyed staying there. The paddles are in the boat house and you are given the keys. There is a welcome packet on the first floor, we did not see it until the morning we left. So many helpful hints! Jim is fantastic! Would recommend this house and hope to be back again. Thank you!

This home is beautifully furnished and decorated to make you feel that you are in a 5 star resort. Just entering thru the front door, you will be amazed at the elegance. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need. The living dining area is perfect for family gatherings and even though it was still hot out, I could envision everyone around the beautiful fireplace. The bedrooms all had access to either their own private bath or one close by. I would give this home a 5 star rating and would definitely recommend it as the perfect choice.

Wonderful Home on a Quiet Cove

  • 4 of 5

Our vacation was wonderful. The home and the cove were perfect for our family. Thank you.

Particularly, we enjoyed the quiet cove for our water sports. We were able to tie our Waverunners up between the dock in front of the boat lifts angled to the posts along the walkway to the dock. It worked out perfect. Using a bungie tie up rope we had not issues with the boat wakes.

Thank you for the use of the boat lift. We only lifted the boat just out of the water and that was just what we needed.

We loved the closeness of the boat ramp and storage for our boat and waverunner trailers. Big Bonus!

Your words about the dock were correct. I brought my own hammer and pounded in a few nails. No one go hurt, but it could have been ugly. We all wore sandals on the dock.

We would stay here again.

As a suggestion, your lower dock could use a floating dock to lounge on. Upper deck was way too hot during the day, even with the cabana, and there was little room to sunbath while looking out on the water from the lower deck.

Use of the bathhouse was valuable to store out stuff especially when it rained.

Almost none of your solar lights work on the walkway to the dock.

As for the house. Thanks for the accommodation. The kitchen was well stocked, especially with staples like salt, pepper and sugar (even though we brought our own). The refrigerator left much to be desired. Probably on its last legs with broken drawer and ice machine that always delivers crushed ice. Not a biggy. Master bed was super comfy, but could have used brighter lights on the nightstand for reading before nodding off to sleep.

We used the outside deck often for breakfast, lunch and dinners. The grill was a bit gooey and the igniter doesn’t work, but we figured it out. Someone had tried to light the burners above the pan by burning a piece of paper. I’m sure they had little success.

The tree guys were very pleasant and left us some wood in the firepit. We did not get the chance to use it because of the storms, but it is all set for the next group.

Loved all the extra towels and the washer/dryer. Made life much easier. We enjoyed the comfort of the sectional couch for watching the All Star game and a few movies. We had no issues with water pressure, hot water, or electricity. On your fridge, we did Star the trash disposal place by the boat repair shop as the closest and most convenient place.

Highly Recommend Vinny's by the bridge as a good place for dinner.

Wonderful repeat visit

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed at this home and we loved it just as much as the first time. There is a lot of space in the house so everyone had room to spread out. The view of the lake from this property is just beautiful and the dock is fun to swim off of, fish off of or just lay out in the sun. I highly recommend this home.

Car: necessary

The home is located on the north east side of the lake in Bedford County. It is 7 miles to the state park which has a beach, marina, hiking trails etc. It is also only about 3 miles from a wild life management area which is open to the public for hunting, hiking, wilderness camping, bird watching etc. There are lots of marinas close by so that you can rent boats or jet skis if you don't have your own. We have a community boat launch in our neighborhood. There are wine festivals in the area several times a year, and concerts at the state park.
