I was more than happy with the location.

The vacation rental was clean.

The property manager was more than helpful.

Reviewer Comments:

The size and location of the property were perfect. The common areas were spacious enough for 8 adults and 4 children. However, it was inconvenient not having a bathroom on the same floor as 2 of the bedrooms. Also, some of the grounds were dangerous. They used wobbly pallets to cover holes in the ground, which caused my 60 year old father to take a tumble. Finally, the steep hill to the lake was a challenge.

Reviewer Comments:

Two refrigerators to keep the food and water separate. We go through a lot of water. Nice wine fridge. Kitchen was well stocked and the many decks were nice. You pretty much have all you need here. The dock area was nice and the lower deck that is right by the water was a great feature. The fire pit was also very nice we used it often. Pool table kept us entertained. There are 3 full and two half baths. The two bedrooms on the old side of the house have no bathrooms. So you have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. That was very annoying for the kids. The yard is not kept us nice. They are currently using an old pallet for a last step off the bottom deck. That is starting to rot through. There are holes in the yard which you can easily fall into. The house seems to be always under construction. There are moldings missing, patches walls etc. It's obvious this house has a big addition and used to be much smaller. The thermostat in the right master bedroom controls the whole house AC. There is a thermostat on the wall in the main area where the pool table is that does nothing but tell the temperature, took a while to figure that out, would be nice if the owner or the rental company gave you a book or info sheet about the house to tell you all these things so you don't waste time trying to figure it out. The basement area has three single beds but no air conditioning, so if your going when it's hot you need to know that. The beds in the masters are really noisy and the mattresses need to be replaced. It would be nice if there were tv's in rooms other than the master bedrooms. The house is very close to the bridge so if you want more of a serene view and less noise this is not the place for you.

So we just got back from this rental yesterday. I will start with the good points of the house first. Plenty of room for everyone.

Negatives.

There are also so many boats that go by all the time that you can't even swim in the lake for fear of being run over. The Saturday we go there, there were 3 boating incidents with people being injured because of all the boat traffic. The house has central air, but the two bedrooms that are all alone upstairs with no bathrooms have window units, no big deal but people should know.

Overall we had a good trip, took a while to get used to the house quirks, I hope the owner reads this and makes some adjustments based on it.

My husband and i enjoyed a week with our children, their spouses and our grandchildren at this lovely lake home. I would recommend a larger hot water tank to accommodate tH e large number of people it holds and a dehumidifier for the lower level.

Reviewer Comments:

My family (husband, sister, brother-in-law, niece (18) and nephew (21) prefer to stay at the Northern end of the lake in older properties, and love the Rock Lodge Road area. This house was perfect for us. The two young adults had their side of the house for sleeping and there were two master suites for the grown-ups. Two fridges allowed for the fishing worms NOT to be with the food. The decks were wonderful for relaxing, reading or eating outside. While there were renovations in progress, there was nothing to interfere with the enjoyment of the house. The bar area was nice and greatly appreciated. The entire layout of the house was nice and allowed for much needed relaxation by everyone. The fishing off the dock was excellent, but the sight of the hydrilla (overgrown grasses) in the lake was disturbing. Hope that can be fixed. I had to stop in the rental office - by choice - to say how nice everything was. The keyless entry was so easy as was the departure check-out. We did require the replacement of a blender, but it was quickly taken care of. The young lady who delivered it could not have been any nicer. We loved the way you could lie in bed at night and see the lake - plus there was a full moon during our stay, which was beautiful. We would certainly recommend this property. We had no reason to use the downstairs bedroom, but it seems just perfect if there were children. The house has a lot of charm, which is just what we are looking for. Although we cannot make a return reservation at this time, we certainly would consider renting this property again. The owner takes pride in his home and it shows. Thanks for allowing us to be a guest in your home.
