3 Bedroom, 3 1/2 bath oceanfront home with pool and spa

Enjoy some of the best snorkeling and surfing on Maui right in front of the home while your friends watch from the spa or pool. The oceanfront home is located on a beautiful cove that is home to numerous green sea turtles. The lanai area includes a pool and spa which overlooks the cove, ocean, and the island of Molokai. There is direct access to the cove from the house. The home is located on a palm-tree lined private road with gated entry. Next to the property is a 1/2 acre grass field with a tennis court that we own and that guests have access to.

The oceanfront home features 3 bedrooms; each bedroom has an en suite bath. The upstairs master bedroom has a king sized bed; the attached bathroom has a large jetted tub and separate shower. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed and full bathroom. The main floor bedroom has a queen sized bed, a full bathroom, and a lanai. Each bedroom also has a flat screen tv.

The home has a large, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast eating area and an adjacent family room. There is a separate dining area which seats 6 and a living room with wet bar and marble tiled, gas fireplace. Additionally, the home has a laundry room and a second refridgerator in the double car garage. The home has wireless internet, cable tv, and gas barbeque.

Also, we have a 5 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath beachfront house with pool and spa in Maui (VRBO #445750) and our companies own Silver Mountain Ski Resort, waterpark, golf course, etc. in Kellogg, Idaho right off of I-90.

The home is fully permitted and approved under Vacation Rental Permit #STWM 2013-0020; TA-031-582-0032-01; GE-031-582-0032-01. House Rules in Rental Agreement.

A 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home, with pool and spa, located on the ocean is quite unique. It has some of the best snorkeling and surfing on the island right in front of the house. Great restaurants are within walking distance. Fabulous hiking is also nearby.

Spectacular -- perfect!

Absolutely gorgeous home and location! Right on the water, with our own stone stairway down to cove with "the second-best snorkeling on Maui," as we were told -- and it was good snorkeling! Great cover for stand-up paddle boarding too. Pool and hot tub overlooking the water -- beautiful home with 3 lovely bedrooms including two with water views (the upstairs master has incredible view from bedroom and bathroom); the third has a lovely mountain view. Four sitting areas plus outdoor dining area next to pool. Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils; washer & dryer are terrific, etc. In other words, this place wants for nothing. Walking distance to some nice restaurants including Sea House, and short drive to groceries, etc. Short drive to DT Fleming Beach, which has good snorkeling even when we were told it was low visibility (we swam out to a reef) -- DT Fleming also has a great, 7-mile hike up mountain. House is very close to Lahaina where we experienced a luau, which was so much fun. Tryg and family are incredible hosts! We cannot thank them enough for such a gorgeous place. It was truly perfect, and I don't often use that word. Maholo!

The House of Honu- As magical as it sounds!

Ahhh! Where to begin? Let's start with "Don't question if this place is worth it when considering a stay here. Just book it."

Seriously. This home is gorgeous- located in a private, gated neighborhood, bedecked by enchanting, iconic ocean views and furnished comfortably & tastefully with an open layout. The kitchen is well-organized and equipped with every cooking implement likely found in your own home. There are fans in each bedroom & lots of closet space. Our family appreciated the many extras not mentioned in the listing such as hair dryers in the bathrooms and shampoo/shower gel dispensers in the showers. The laundry room was provisioned with detergent, an iron & beach towels. Additionally, the garage held ice coolers, a couple of beach chairs, tennis racquets, boogie boards, sand toys & even ponchos for rainforest hikes! Just pack your clothes!

Outside, the landscaping was beautiful, the pool refreshing and the cove captivating; full of tropical fish and graced by dozens of Honu (sea turtles) gliding through the warm water to graze on rocks, occasionally popping their heads up for air. It's accessed by rock stairs out back. Remarkably, we never witnessed more than 3 people in the cove at any time during our stay. It was wonderfully tranquil.

All of that said, one thing you can't predict when renting a property like this is the disposition of its owner. One of our favorite parts about this particular rental was getting to know its owner, Tryg Fortun. He and his wife are gifted with a sense of hospitality and they genuinely care that their guests have what they need ahead of time & are able to enjoy a seamless, quiet stay on a beautifully maintained property. The Fortun Aloha Spirit & attention to detail was demonstrated in our friendly interactions leading up to our arrival, the generous welcome basket we found waiting for us when we walked in after a long day of travel, the condition of the home and the well-organized information packet we received just prior to checking in, full of helpful. local information. We found Tryg to be an exceptionally responsive property owner/manager, with integrity. He's friendly but not intrusive. My husband & I would choose a property owned by the Fortuns above any other for these reasons alone.

Book this property & experience a relaxing vacation in "The House of the Honu"- it will be one you'll not soon forget. (But don't take all the good dates because we're coming back!)

We just returned from an 8 day stay and we loved it. Tryg was so nice to work with and accommodating. The house was fully stocked and nicely furnished. Excellent locations and tons of turtles in the bay! Thanks for all the recommendations! Can’t wait to come back! Mahalo!!

Absolute Paradise!!

This place is absolutely amazing from the location to the mob of green sea turtles that sun bathe every day in the bay! We loved our stay and would love to stay here again. This property is very well located just above Lahaina and near tons of more amazing beaches. If you need anything the Napili market is just up the street. Beach bums is a perfect stop for a beer! Not to mention the great pool and spa that over look the bay and is perfect to relax for the sunset with a cocktail!!

The property was stunning, and the furnishings beautiful.

There are not enough superlatives to describe our total experience. From the minute we arrived our senses were delighted with one treat after another. The detail put into every aspect of our experience was awesome, including the welcome basket, fresh flowers, marine wildlife sheets (so we could identify what we saw when we snorkeled), the Hawaii info books and so much more. Thanks to the abundance of beautiful fish and turtles in the private cove, snorkeling there was breath-taking. We loved snorkeling there more than at Hanauma Bay on Oahu. Having our own pool and jacuzzi lured us into spending almost every night "at home." This rental gets a 5-star rating. Thank you, Trig, for your wonderful hospitality.

Cleaning Fee $495
Refundable Damage Deposit $1,000

All rates based on a 7 night stay (14 nights during the Holiday period). Guest pays taxes, $475 out-cleaning fee, booking fee, and $1000 refundable deposit. Guest also pays a $35 per night "Administrative Fee" which is to reimburse us for our costs for accepting credit cards. If the booking will result in an unrentable gap in our calendar, nightly rate might increase. Guest agrees to provide information for and sign the House Rules in Rental Agreement.

  • Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
