Spacious apartment, central location, fabulous views.

We stayed in 412 is on the 4th floor of this 14 apartment complex right on a rocky beach. The sea is not calm. Our flight delay meant we arrived well into the evening. However, the owner was there to greet us, help us up (10 steps before the lift !) and in with all the luggage. First impressions were GREAT! The apartment is HUGE as is the balcony. The owner then asked us if he could take us to the supermarket! On our return, he again helped us up and in with the shopping. Great Service 👍𣐮

Cleanliness is not a top priority, especially in the kitchen, and the apartment contents are a little tired. Maintenance is also a problem here as quite a few things don't work well, or at all, as in the case of the dishwasher. However, this was replaced with one that almost fitted, in a few days.

The central area can be a little noisy and this can be heard later at night especially in the back bedroom. However, with lots of restaurants, a few bars, and a nice buzz about it, the benefits far outweigh any occasional slight disturbance.

The pool is very small, and ok just for a dip. The small beach is sandy but entry to the sea is rocky, and the sea slightly rough. We walked along the road and in through the complex next door as their section of beach was a little calmer, and had a less rocky entry to the sea.

My partner is ultra clean, and I am ultra fussy about things that don't work. The apartment could be cleaner, and the maintenance could be a lot better. However, the apartment is great, the views are stunning, and the location suited us just fine. Would we go back? Definitely!!

Upgrade it, get a new cleaner, and it's a 4 or 5 star !

Owner's Response: I though the comment about "cleanliness not being a priority" as well as the handwritten note tucked away for future guests were uncalled for. We maintain a clean unit as evidenced from previous renters' positive reviews but acknowledge that these guests had valid concerns. I was overseas and discovered on the weekend that the diswasher was not working; it had been repaired a few months before. I apologised to the guests for the broken diswasher on their arrival Sunday night and explained that I would have a technician investigate shortly. Technician came on Tuesday and advised me to replace the unit; I was unable to find exact replacement in stock and found a superior good fit S Steel model that was installed Thursday midday. The guests on this occasion complained to me after 10 days, on the eve of their departure, for greasy cutlery in the kitchen drawer and the area under the master bath vanity being unkempt. I apologised for both occurrences and while I am unsure why the cutlery was greasy (the cleaner usually soaps cutlery in hot water), I believe the area under the vanity was dusty because its access is very difficult and it had not been cleaned despite three different cleaners cleaning the condo in the last 2 months. It appears the guest was looking for something that dropped that rolled under the vanity and discovered the dust. The cleaner acknowledged the oversight and dealt with cleaning the area immediately. The guests' comments have been taken on board and we have and will do our utmost to prevent a repeat as we continue to provide quality accommodation for our guests. I am definitely encouraged that the review did provide many positives and confirmed that the guests would return to the condo.

Perfect for what we were looking for!

Location: couldn't be better! The Gap on one side and the ocean on the other. I wasnt bothered at all by the noise with a fan on. Easily walkable to bars/restaurants and Dover beach. Short ride to the airport and Oistons although we chose to beach hop our way there.

Accommodation: lots of space for 4 of us - could definitely accommodate more as there is a futon for 1 person. Balcony is huge and having an incredible oceanview meant we didn't have to leave. 2 bathrooms was great and next time I'll have to try the jetted tub. Beds, linens and pillows were comfortable. A lot of storage space. The appliances aren't brand new but everything was in working condition including the blender for ice drinks. The TV even had Canadian hockey...

Beach/pool: nice private sandy spot. Helpful to have beach shoes for those that prefer but I was happy without. Chairs are provided with the rental. Small pool available but we barely used.

Host - Colin was always helpful and even organized a cab waiting for us in the chaos of the airport. Very friendly, understanding and accommodating.

Would definitely return!

Great Location and Amenities

This is a great spot to come and relax to the sound of the ocean. We had a great time and we're not bothered by any street noise that some talk about in this area. Colin was great and even let us leave our luggage there til later in the day. He's also local if there are any problems. I definitely will return

Nice stay in Barbados

We stayed in the apartment for 9 nights from January 4 to January 13, 2016. The property looks very much as pictured, it is not brand new but everything works fine, so no complaints. We are a couple with two fairly big kids and we enjoyed that the bedrooms are on the opposite sides of the apartment The location is very good, a small beach is private and a big Dover beach is just around the corner. The owner-manager was very responsive and answered questions right away. Internet is very fast which helped a lot as I had to do some work during vacation. We can certainly recommend this property.

Family Vacation in Barbados

This was our first trip to Barbados and our 21 and 23 year old son and daughter joined us . We had a fabulous trip and loved our accommodations at Mistle cove . The location of the condo in the St Lawrence gap area was perfect with lots of great restaurants and bar options right next door . Beautiful Dover beach was a 5 minute walk and we also had a nice little strip of beach right in front of our condo . The unit was a large , clean and had everything you could ask for . The deck overlooks the ocean and it is huge - awesome !! Colin Deane is the owner of the unit and he was a pleasure to deal with , very responsive and helpful .

I would highly recommend staying at 412 Mistle cove and when come back to Barbados we will definitely try and book this unit .

Wonderful time at Mistle Cove

The owner Colin was so easy to deal with from the beginning and made sure everything was set for us . Even though he was off-island at the time, he tracked that our flight was late and made sure we were looked after on arrival.

The apartment itself exceeded our expectations in size, and was very well appointed. Nice to have a full size kitchen with modern high-end appliances including the silent dishwasher. The balcony was 4 times the size of the ones in the neighboring hotel where we have stayed several times before.

Proximity to the convenience store (which has groceries, meats, bread, eggs, dairy, wine, beer liquor, etc) and many restaurants meant no need for a car for us; and it was only a 5 minute cab ride to the supermarket anyway (although we never went there this year). Restaurants we like are Harlequin (next door - we go there every visit), Sharky's (bar across the street), Beach One (used to be Southsea, then Waterside and next door the other way). Sunday lunch at the Southern Palms with the steel pan band is always fun!

The grounds and pool were spotless, and the little private beach was fun - lots of breakers. Just a note to wear surf shoes, as there is a lot of coral reef there - but we came prepared! And for a bigger beach, just walk 2 miinutes down the road to Dover Beach - one of our favourites in the Caribbean.

The view of the ocean and the sound of the surf were stunning - we knew that would be the case as we have stayed elsewhere on the Gap before. Now we have found the place we want to return to year after year!
