A Cottage Feel, In A Sea Of Architectural Greatness!!
About Karen Nye
Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan I had a great life living with the resources the University of Michigan had to offer. After graduating from college, I taught elementary education and continued my education until I graduated again and became the Director of John Denver's Wildwood School in Aspen, Co. 10 years later my son was born. Wow, no time for anything but wanting to be a mom. The bills had to be payed however so I started my own company which I still own and run today. Built on the shoulders of my mother's company (Calico 'N Things), CNT Pattern Co. is very much a homegrown business. As sole proprietor, I'm one of those lucky kids who got the opportunity to return to the soft down of mother's wing. The knowledge she shares with me provides the base on which my company is standing. After moving close enough to my home in Aspen to fully enjoy her grandchild, my mother encouraged me to produce patterns for her company. I had taught school, run my own school and written a book titled 'Building Self-Esteem For Decision Making: A How-To Handbook for Parents and Educators of Young Learners - Ages 3-7' (now there's a mouthful). With a desire to build a little more self-esteem of my own, I decided to follow my mother's suggestion.
Why Karen Nye chose Manhattan

It is quiet, yet uniquely located to some of New York's greatest performances at Lincoln Center! And New York's gem Central Park as well as The Fairway Market, Citarella's.
What makes this Apartment unique
It is amazing to ride up to the top floor of the Parc Coliseum in an elevator and have the doors open into your apartment! 5 steps out of the elevator, open your french door and walk out onto your very own private rooftop with views of some of the greatest architecture in New York, The Ansonia, World Trade Center, Trump Tower.

We had a great time!
Karen is wonderful to work with and her place is amazingly close to everything we wanted to do!
Lovely setting in a neighborhood you feel comfortable and safe.
We very much enjoyed this apartment. We had breakfast out on the terrace every morning. There is a lot to do in New York, however the terrace is such a treat, we were in no hurry to leave this little oasis. Karen is a charming host, she helped us out storing our luggage till it was time to check in and check out. She also stayed in touch in case we needed any thing. The subway station is a half a block away. Central Park is 4 blocks one way and the water is just as close in the other direction. So much more room than a hotel room. This was a real bonus since it rained all day one day so we spent most of that day in the apartment, with our buddy Fluffy the cat. A great place to stay, We felt more New Yorkers less tourist. Definitely made our New York trip special. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone heading to New York.
Fabulous Terrace with NYC Skyline views
This is a fabulous small studio apartment in New York's UWS. For the price of a Studio Suite in the Beacon across the road, you get your own private rooftop terrace. Watch the sun come up over NYC with that first cup of coffee - and watch it go down sipping a nice glass of wine.. The location is also perfect - close to Fairways and Trader Joe's for groceries
, and close to the 72nd St (with an all important 123 Express stop) Subway.
The apartment comes complete with Fluffy 🐱 - who is absolutely adorable...
Karen has been great to deal with - a very welcoming and caring host.
We look forward to returning!😎
Living the NY life above it all!
What a fantastic stay my husband and I had in NYC, in your amazing roof top studio.
So wonderful to get into the elevator and have it open into our own private unit. The roof deck was fabulous and added so much. We had our breakfasts out there, when it wasn't raining and one dinner, as the sun was going down over the Hudson river. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was perfectly equipped with all necessary items and the building is perfectly located to the subway, (one stop to Times Sq), Central Park, the Hudson River, Lincoln Center. We loved the neighborhood!
We also had our own sweet little kitty, named fluffy, who would greet us when we came home.
We look forward to staying with you again in the future!
All the Best,
Robin and Craig
Sweet spot in a great location
I really enjoyed my stay at this nice penthouse studio. great of one or two travelers- a block from the subway and in a great neighborhood. The resident cat was sweet and friendly. The roof terrace is great and let's you enjoy some privacy outside away from the noise and traffic of NYC.
