Very Good

We had a great stay and the house had all the amenities we needed for a 2 night stay for 6 adults and 1 toddler. Our only suggestion would be to add shades on the bedroom windows. The curtains don’t really block the morning light.

Few Hiccups
The house itself was very clean and nice inside. The beds and bathrooms were exactly how you’d want them to be. I appreciated the prepared sheets, towels, bathroom supplies etc. We had fun and enjoyed our stay mostly, but there were a few things that took away from the experience. The location is nice, but the neighbors(?) were very strange. With one woman constantly standing on the side of the open yard and staring at us for prolonged periods of time, pretending to walk her dog. At one point even recording us with her phone held out pointed at us. There was another man walking with her on the day of our exit, who stood at the top of the driveway watching us for an uncomfortable 3-5 minutes without saying a word. Not the hosts’ fault but it hurt the overall experience. The grass in the yard was also very long and unkempt. That led to a lot of bugs and a lot of bites. The hot tub was a nice touch but we couldn’t find directions on it and it wouldn’t heat up no matter what we tried. Also, the undisclosed ring camera/door set up made people a little uneasy. It does feel a little odd when you didn’t know beforehand. Lastly, the communication with the hosts wasn’t as responsive as I’d like, but they seemed like nice people.

Hi Bailey,
Thank you for your stay and for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I’m glad to hear you found the home clean, well-stocked, and enjoyable overall. We put a lot of effort into preparing the space thoughtfully for each guest.
That said, I was a bit surprised by some of your comments, and I’d like to offer a few clarifications for transparency:
• Communication – I didn’t receive any messages from you via the platform or text during your stay. If there were any issues—such as with the hot tub or questions about the property—I would have been happy to assist had I known. I can’t address problems that aren’t brought to my attention.
• Ring camera – The presence of a Ring camera is clearly stated in the listing, as is standard for many vacation rentals. It’s there strictly for security and peace of mind for everyone involved. I imagine the camera may have felt intrusive if arriving several hours before the 4 p.m. check-in without notice. (Noon) I didn’t say anything at the time (it was a holiday and the house was already set), but generally early arrivals are subject to a fee and prior approval.
• Yard & hot tub – The yard is on a regular 10-day landscaping schedule and was serviced recently, but I’ll follow up just to ensure nothing was missed. The hot tub was confirmed to be operational right before your check-in by our team. If it wasn’t heating, a quick message could’ve resolved that.
• Neighbors – This is the first time I’ve ever received a report like that. I’m sorry you felt uncomfortable—it’s certainly not the norm.
We always strive to create a great experience, but part of that includes open communication. I do wish you’d reached out during your stay instead of after the fact. Nonetheless, I hope the rest of your weekend was relaxing
About the host
Hosted by Joeanna Napoles
My wife and I are educators in Brooklyn and we bought this house to have a place to come with our two boys, Jamie and Noel who are 5 and 3. This is a really special place for our family and we’re excited to share it with yours.
Why they chose this property
We love that it’s isolated and quiet while also being really close to two fun upstate towns with shops and lots of good food options.
What makes this property unique
Our house is only a few years old and is barely used by us, so it still has that “new” feel. Our yard is big and the view of the pond is serene.
