About the host
Hosted by Glenn & Stephanie Woodbury
We have been Airbnb/VRBO hosts since 2008. Over the years, we’ve hosted guests in our cabins, Indian teepees, homes, and RV sites at a beautiful resort. Now, we’re excited to offer our newest property, called The Woods - "Madrone Cabin"
Don’t laugh... but the reason it’s called The Woods is rooted in childhood nostalgia. When we were kids, there was a patch of forest central to many of our friends’ country homes. Back then, everyone had landlines, so you’d call your friend and say, “I’ll meet you in "The Woods" at noon.” Nostalgia won out!
Why they chose this property
The most beautiful wooded property in southern oregon. Close to so many things to do and beauty that is absolutely breathtaking.
What makes this property unique
Our property is peaceful and secluded, yet just minutes from town and surrounded by countless things to do in every direction. You'll find yourself just 10 minutes from 10 wineries and 30 minutes from over 30 more in the renowned Applegate and Rogue Valley wine regions. Two local restaurants are just around the corner, with dozens more in nearby Jacksonville, Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass—all within an hour’s drive.
Love the outdoors? Crater Lake National Park is a breathtaking two-and-a-half-hour drive, perfect for a day trip. The Oregon Coast is also within reach, offering scenic drives and coastal towns just 2.5 hours away. Mount Ashland provides fantastic skiing and snowboarding in winter, and cross-country skiing is available just minutes from the cabin. For even more adventure, Mount Shasta is only 1.5 hours south and offers world-class alpine recreation.
Water lovers will enjoy Applegate Lake (with paddleboard and kayak rentals), Lost Creek Lake, Lake of the Woods, Emigrant Lake, and Diamond Lake, all offering stunning scenery, boating, and fishing. Don’t miss the Oregon Caves National Monument, a fascinating marble cave system less than 90 minutes away—a true hidden gem.
Whether you're wine tasting, hiking, skiing, paddling, or just relaxing under the stars, this region is rich in beauty, adventure, and charm.
