About this property
Spacious 4-bedroom farmhouse with 20 acres surrounded by a whitewater creek.
This Reliance farmhouse boasts 4 inviting bedrooms with a mix of king, queen, full, and twin beds. The property includes 3 bathrooms, a large great room, fully equipped kitchen, large screened porch and sunny deck looking at a firepit for 12, volleyball court, and a white water creek with benches and entrance. The property has hiking trails: some level following the creek, and others climb to the top of the ridge. Bring your swimming gear, rafts and hiking boots. There is even a large desk in the master bedroom along with WIFI if urgent work is needed. We are just a few miles from the Hiwassi River, famous for fly fishing and rafting. The Cherokee National Forest is right across the creek. When you first enter, there is a gazebo where you can sit and look at Star Mountain and hear the rushing water of a small stream as it enters the large Spring Creek below. This is a very large property with only one other smaller rental house, The Creek House, also available on VBRO. This is a perfect location for families or gathering of friends lovingly maintained by the Chattanooga owners since 1995.

The house was roomy, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the property even more than we had imagined, with hiking and fishing just steps away. Add the fire pit and badminton net, and there is everything for family fun! If only the fish had been biting!
Amazing location with groomed trails around the property with multiple stream views and access points. Loved the fire pit, badminton, and playing in the creek. Plenty of room for all of us!
This is a great location for access to the Hiwassee River and surrounding area. Very comfortable for 10 to 12 guests. The screened porch was the gathering place of choice after a day of paddling. Our group wants to stay here again next year.
As promised, very close to our training venue. We were there for a Swift Water Rescue course. The house was great with a well-appointed kitchen that made cooking for a big crew easy. The bedrooms were nicely laid out to sleep a large group. The property was awesome with the creek and trails, a screened in porch, and a nice grill setup. The host was wonderful and promptly responded to any questions or concerns. If more than 5 stars was an option I’d use it.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The listing details were misleading. The photos on the site did not appear to be recent. The bedroom listing for a queen with two twin beds had one twin with a trundle, under which we found dead bugs and dead lizards. The second bedroom had a day bed with no bedding instead of a second twin. The house and grounds were in poor condition. There was mold in the upstairs closet and on the ceiling near the skylight. During a heavy rain the skylight was leaking, as was the ceiling above the stairway on the main level. The upstairs bathtub was unusable due to rust and calcification. The handle on the oven came off and had to be repaired. The side porch surface was flaking and splintered. The furniture in the area was badly rusted. The firepit was overgrown as was the small access to the creek. The second rental on the property shared a common driveway. The gazebo was at the far end of the property and not accessible as the area had not been mowed. The owner responded promptly and apologized for us dealing with the leaks. We remained at the property for the four nights because there were no other rentals available for our family of nine.
