Kal and I are from West milford NJ and have 2 active boys. We enjoy being out doors. We love to hike ,quad, fish, hunt, snowmobile and boating. We chose this property because we can enjoy all these activities. and we love the peaceful area and driving around the pastures and rolling hills.
Ofie Kataw purchased this farmhouse in 2012
We chose this property because it has always been my husbands dream to have lots of property and I love old farm houses. The views are breath taking. We love to take walks especially on the fields and through the the old apple orchards taking in the fresh air and I love to visit the cows down the road we can even see some from our deck. It is very private and
peaceful. when you need to get away this is really a special place.
Our farm house is very cozy with 2 fireplaces all wood floors. It has a cover porch with great views. The kitchen is fully equipped with every thing you need. You will feel right at home. Views from every room. Furniture custom made by the Amish with aged barn wood. My favorite is the wooden swing they made for me. Snowmobile trail right at the end of our property that goes all the way to old forge. Open and airy for the whole family to enjoy. Window every where keeping the house bright.
Anyone who's considering making a trip to Cooperstown, NY (Baseball Hall of Fame among other things) should stay at this home. It's a lovely farmhouse situated on oodles of land and views for as far as the eye can see. Comfortable, warm, inviting, nice big working kitchen, laundry, porch ..... everything you need at your fingertips.
Bedrooms are comfortable and it couldn't be more fitting for a couple or two (or three) with a bunch of kids .... the place sleeps 9 ppl comfortably.
You won't want to leave quite simply. I know we didn't.
We will return that's for sure!
Great getaway and relaxing visit over Parent's weekend at Colgate! Beautifully restored farmhouse on gorgeous rolling hill property. Such a treat to be able to hike, visit and then just relax by a fall fireside . Thank you, Ofie, for sharing your wonderful vacation home!
We stayed at Dragon Hill for a week while our son played in a Cooperstown tournament. The house was fabulous...comfortable and modern and the views were stunning. It was great to kick back around the fire pit and relax on the porch after a long day at the fields. Ofie was fantastic, responsive, and easy to work with; a very gracious host with plenty of suggestions and recommendations. Between all of the baseball, our family spent time golfing, horseback riding, and kayaking. The property is true to its description and we would recommend without hesitation!
Enjoyed our stay very much, very comfortable place - bedrooms are nice, beds are comfortable, several cozy areas for reading, socializing. True chef's kitchen. This place is out in about 14-15 miles from Cooperstown on rural roads. We arrived at night and drove right past it - google maps identified the neighbor house incorrectly as this property, but the house number was easily seen during the day. Good places to run, bike, and hike
Very scenic location! If you are looking for a rural getaway home with all the modern update this is a great home. My family of 5 stayed last week for my son's baseball tournament at All Star Village. The drive is about 25 minutes, but it was nice to get away from baseball. My family is use to updated appliances and this home did not disappoint. We were scare to rent since many families told us of horror stories of home with out dated furniture, appliances, and the smell of mold/mildew. This home none of these problems. We would definitely stay again when my younger son is heading to Cooperstown.
My family stayed at this lovely home with a few friends for a quiet New Years weekend. It did not disappoint! During the day, we enjoyed the lovely view of rolling hills and settled in at night by the wood-burning stove for board games. The home was beautifully renovated, well-stocked, and meticulously clean. The beds and other furniture are all very comfortable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet winter getaway! We would certainly stay there again!
