This comfortable house is located in the beach community of Van Buren Bay, a community of about 75 houses and cottages nestled along the beach of the bay. Access to the beach is by public path between the two houses directly across the street. Besides the beach, the community has a tennis court and two playgrounds. The flat roads are good for bicycling.
The first floor consists of a large living-dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a master bedroom and a bath, along with a garage which is used as a storage room. There is a second bath and three bedrooms on the second floor. There are beds for 13 (see details) and two cots which can be placed in the upstairs hall or the garage.
The towns of Dunkirk and Fredonia are about five miles away with restaurants, shopping and activities. Erie PA is an hour west and Buffalo is an hour east. Chautauqua Institute and Jamestown NY are within an hour. Niagara Fall is about 1 1/2 hours.
Summer season (JUly and August) rentals are a minimum of one week and are from Saturday to Saturday. The remainder of the year the minimum stay is three days. Besides being a great place for a family vacation, this is a good location for winery touring, antique shopping, skiing and sightseeing, particularly Buffalo and Niagara.

Why Joanne Kepple chose Van Buren Point
A great place for family fun.

Everything you could imagine.
We all had a great time. The property is ideal. Truly, you can find everything you need in this house. One thing that was disappointing, however, was the lake level and lack of beach.
That is something that no one can control. In years prior, we had rented lake front properties and we were used to the kids having plenty of sand to build with, etc., luck of the draw.
A good time was had by all!!
Well appointed is an understatement
My extended family and I were in town for a family wedding. If we had known just how well appointed the home was, we could have traveled much lighter. My wife and mother-in-law commented frequently how every thing they could have needed was there, neatly stored and easy to find.
There was a wealth of items for outdoor activities, games, books and all the linen we needed. I was even able to quickly find the basic tools I needed for a minor, unanticipated car repair.
We visit the immediate area just about every year and have stayed at numerous properties. This is the best one so far, for a balance comfort/amenities and price. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was very well equipped with linens, towels and kitchen supplies. It was conveniently located and had plenty of sleeping room. I would recommend this house to all of my friends and family.
Wonderful 4 night stay for 12 Pittsburgh guys in the area for a hockey tournament.
Simply stated we had a unique experience during our stay and turned out to be one of our most memorable trips to the area for our hockey tournament that we've been going to for the past 16 years. Our group decided to rent this place instead of staying at a hotel. Didn't know what to expect, but it didn't take us long to say "Why didn't we do this sooner?!"
The Kepple's were wonderful hosts. We didn't meet them but they were readily available to answer any questions or concerns we had. More to come on our experience, but I did want to mention the hosts first and their willingness to work with us on parking concerns and a few minor things at the home.
The house is very roomy. We obviously fit 12 male adults with plenty of room to spare. 2 guys slept in the downstairs bed comfortably along with 1 person in each of the beds upstairs and one person on the couch which was very comfortable. There are also cots with mattresses that can be used as well. We did do quite a bit of cooking. Unfortunately the oven wasn't working but the stove did. We contacted the owners to let them know and they actually purchased a new stove that day which will be installed soon. Only other minor issue was the hallway and stairway light wasn't working. Which they are going to fix as well. We made do by using a lamp and extension chord in the hallway. Also available to us was the grill which we did use quite a bit during our stay which is a nice added feature. Refrigerator is almost new or might even be new with plenty of space. There is an abundant amount of cooking utensils and cookware which is very nice. We also brought our own TV project and project screen to watch hockey games and TV. The TV is pretty small so we knew to bring what we had to enjoy our hockey and TV a bit more. Wonderful sized front yard which we used the entire weekend to play yard games, grill and hang out since the weather was pretty decent during our stay.
Then there's the neighborhood and the lake. Our only bad experience ended up turning out just fine and that was parking and temporarily (less than 5 minutes) parking a car in the neighbors driveway across the street. Long story short, one guy parked there while we moved a few cars so he could fit in the driveway. The neighbors immediately contacted the owners, who later contacted me, and reiterated to not park in neighbors driveways. We didn't realize the 3-5 minutes temporary stop would have cause an issue, but we understa
Great house, highly recommend
Had a wonderful week at the VB bay home. Real close to beach. Everything as described. We rented 4 other homes in the area for the same week for other relatives and this one was the best. The only fault was its was a little more expensive than the others but well worth it.
Van buren bay lake erie home.
Eight of us came up from Ohio to fish. The home was very nice. We found it to be clean and just as advertised. Our group was very pleased and would recommend it highly. Thank you to the owners for sharing your home with us!
