We had a wonderful stay. This was our second stay at this VRBO. We love the lake, the sunsets and the waves lapping at the shore. The family enjoyed the area and its attractions. Our host is fantastic, making sure everything was perfect.Weather was very nice, with only one day of rain.

Great Place to Relax

The view of the sunsets and storms, the breezes, the yard for games, the lake just down the steps, all the facilities of the house so serviceable. We have been guests for over 15 years--gets better each year.

Spectacular views!

Spacious (5 bedroom), charming cottage with lots of indoor and outdoor space for family gatherings, located in a private waterfront neighborhood not far from local sights and shopping. Spectular views of Lake Erie and sunsets. The owner is a pleasure to rent from - we will be back!

We LOVED the lakehouse! Communication with Andrea was easy, the entrance and key situation was easy to access, and check out was straight forward. The house had good seating areas, conducive to people being able to sit and see each other and talk. Lots of windows and fans to supplement the lake breezes, and air conditioners which we didn't use much. We loved sitting outside by the water as well as inside with the windows open to hear the waves on the lake. Juggling the shower took a little condsideration but was completely do-able for the five of us. No one used the tub upstairs. So many nice amenities, and well-stocked with dishes and glasses. We knew there was a stairway to go to the upstairs bedrooms, so we packed more but smaller suitcases to carry up. We loved the privacy and space of the two larger bedrooms upstairs. Grocery stores were within 20 minutes (Tops and WalMart) as well as things to see - the Barcelona Lighthouse and Dunkirk Pier made for a nice day trip. Lots of wineries in the area, also. A nice quiet neighborhood, altogether a great place to stay.

This was our second stay at the lake house, because it was our home away from home! We love how cozy and comfortable it is and has everything we needed. There are plenty of spaces to relax and have a conversation or just read a book. The sunsets are breathtaking, and the sound of the waves on the lake soothing. Our host Andi answered any question we had, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, down to a basket of fleece blankets for chilly nights out by the fire (we didn’t need them with the summer temps we had). The location was perfect for us, very quiet neighborhood.

Charming house right on the lake.

This classic bungalow with its five bedrooms and two baths was perfect for our large family with grown children. The pictures and info provided give a completely accurate assessment of the property. The beach area is a bit small and rocky, but it was great for launching our kayak, hanging out, and enjoying the awesome sunsets. We loved everything about it and would definitely book it again.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review of our lake house. I am always so pleased when others feel that same as I do. In re: the small beach area - for some reason ( probably only Mother Nature knows) the Lake Erie water level is extra high this summer. That is a frustration to many of us - it adds stress to our break walls and also cuts down on our beach area. I am so glad you were able to still enjoy your time at our little piece of Heaven. Lake Erie is truly a GREAT LAKE .

This property provided such beautiful memories for my family. I wouldn’t recommend for families who have young children under the age of 5 due to the high ledge that overlooks the lake. The owner was wonderful with providing all that was needed. We loved going on daily adventures along the beach as well as walking around the neighborhood that was in a very safe location. The sunsets were breathtaking and we had beautiful sunny days. I loved that we didn’t have air conditioning since we could feel the lake breeze.

LAKE GETAWAY

The house presents both a cheery exterior and interior with lots of lake signs and pictures throughout. Due to the high water, there was no beach to utilize, but the views were wonderful. The lake breezes kept us cool during the week. Fredonia has lots of interesting restaurants to try and our trip to Jamestown to visit the Lucy Museum and the Comedy Museum was liked by all.

Wonderful again

We have stayed at this cottage numerous times over the years. It is a wonderful property on a fantastic Lake Erie lakefront location. The property is very comfortable and we are able to cook all of our meals without difficulty and able to eat them in a screened in porch area that overlooks the lake. The kids all have a wonderful time in the lake with our old truck inner tubes. In sum, this property and its location are simply wonderful.

Classic Lake House

This property was well suited for my family ages 3-Adult. It is truly a classic lake house-very casual and comfortable. and in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was very responsive and accommodating during the entire booking process. I am a native to the area and I may be biased, but you just can't beat the sunsets on Lake Erie. They are different every night. Be sure to get water shoes as the owner suggests-very rocky entrance to the water.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting!

My brother and I (as well as two of our adult sons) stayed a week in this lovely cottage, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place! Not only is it beautifully situated on the waters of Lake Erie, but the house itself is warmly and tastefully decorated. Indeed, we all felt very comfortable there! The kitchen, moreover, was well stocked with all the plates, silverware, mugs, and glassware we needed. Communication with the owner was also excellent, and we knew she was available if we needed anything. She also provided us with some excellent tips on things to do in the area. My family is already looking forward to returning at some point in the future!

Classic lake house experience

The property is well described in the listing and was very clean. It was nice to have extra space on the three enclosed porches to relax and read. All of the furnishings, including the beds were comfortable. The host supplied a multitude of thoughtful items like fans, baby items, board games and puzzles. Every bedroom had a ceiling fan. It was interesting to watch the lake change with the weather!

The perfect family vacation!

My husband and I have 3 children and 1 grandchild. All of them live in the area, but everyone is busy with ... life. The Mansfield Cottage was the perfect setting for a week of relaxing, reconnecting and recharging! It's in Fredonia, close to Dunkirk and Lily Dale, and there are lots of options for things to do together or separately. The weather was glorious, so we were able to have lots of fun together outside. The host left plenty of information to help us keep the property as she likes it, and she even popped in to check on us about mid-week. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay ... or two! ;)

relaxing family getaway

We had a great week at a well-stocked, comfortably lived-in lakeside house. The kitchen was amply stocked with cookware, dishes, gadgets, and accessories. The house was stocked with games, furniture, bedding, towels, washer/dryer, fans and throw blankets for curling up on a sofa or comfy chair. The outside was stocked with Adirondack chairs, tables, firepit and a beautiful view of the sunset that changed each evening. Our days took us to nearby beaches, wineries, a day trip to Niagara Falls, and tour of a lighthouse/museum. The host was extremely helpful with items for the two year old and always responded quickly. It was a delightful week.

Like staying at Grandma’sThis home has a lot of nostalgia and history in it. It seems to be very old. Not a bad thing. It has evidence of being around during the early 1900’s. There is stamped lumber that has the name of a lumber company from Texas that was open from about 1905 until about 1985. There are Hubble electric outlets in the floor, which dates back to the early 1900s as well. The home is at an excellent location. Beautiful view of Lake Erie. We traveled the immediate area and extended out to Niagara Falls on multiple adventures. The downside of this property is that it doesn’t have air conditioning and the air was very stale when we walked in the door. We ventilated the house by opening windows and added an air freshener. It appeared that no one else had stayed in a little while.
