Stay comfortably in Au Train at this 2-bedroom cabin. Right across the street from the Au Train river and easy access for kayaking/fishing. Also less than a mile form Lake Superior and Au Train beach. A short drive to Munising and Pictured Rocks. The house has been completely remodeled and easily sleeps 6 with a fully stocked kitchen and one and a half baths.

Work/fun

The host was very responsive to questions and suggestions, the house was very clean. Would highly recommend staying there. I will definitely stay there again. The location is great.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the check-in was easy. They are adding a deck outside too, so that will be a nice addition as well. It’s down the road from the beach, a lake, and 15 minutes from Munising attractions. Also, this is a great spot to stay if you’re doing a waterfall tour. I’d definitely stay there again.

Au Train Area Meeting Place

This cabin is being remodeled and is very well outfitted, clean and centrally located for exploring the area from Au Train to Pictured Rocks. It is comfortable and quiet. Currently (mid July 2025) there is no real outdoor space or river access or viewing from the cabin but a deck is planned and there are access points immediately proximal for kayaking and the sandy Lake Superior access at the river mouth is a mile or so away. There is a small grocery and some prepared food vendors very close by.

Centrally located to Lake Superior! We were on the AuTrain river with easy/quick access to kayaking. Lake Superior was about 6 mins away with beautiful beaches, views, walks, fishing and adventures. Christmas and Munising were also very close. (15 mins or less) We enjoy renting a boat a touring Pictured Rocks as a family. We also visited Tahquamenon Falls. (about 1.25 hours away) The property itself has a bonfire pit, charcoal grill, wifi, endless TV (if needed) and other falls and walking adventures! The property was perfect for us bc of the location, remodel and pet control. Thank you, Jim for your hospitality!

Small but perfect

We stayed at this property for a weekend…a hot and humid weekend knowing that the cottage didn’t have AC. The property owner was gracious enough to get an AC unit to make sure we were comfortable. He was very quick to respond to any questions and was an excellent host. The cottage itself was very nice. It had just been redone. There’s a nice dining area and ample seating in the living room in addition to a large tv. The kitchen had everything we needed and had all new appliances. One bedroom had a king bed and one had a queen. Both couples agreed that the mattresses were very comfortable. It also had a nice full bath (shower). The bonus was also having a half bath (no waiting). It’s a great little cottage. I would definitely stay there again.
