The Sutter Escape - NEW!

Welcome to The Sutter Escape, the front half of a modern duplex just one mile from Central Avenue in McKinleyville. You'll be centrally located near the town’s best restaurants and shops, and just a quick 11-minute drive to downtown Arcata.

This cozy retreat features two comfortable bedrooms—one with a King bed, the other with a Queen—each equipped with its own smart TV. The fully stocked kitchen includes everything you need to prepare a large meal and our spacious backyard is perfect for BBQs.

Enjoy a relaxing rain shower, a cozy living room with a smart TV and board games, and the convenience of an in-unit washer and dryer. Outside, you'll find a large fenced backyard, a spacious deck, and a BBQ grill—perfect for sunny afternoons. Our kitchen is stocked with all major cooking and baking utensils such as pots, pans, measuring cups, etc., as well as some specialty appliances such as a KitchenAid mixer, Ninja air fryer, Ninja blender, six-burner oven, electric tea kettle, and both a drip coffee and K-Cup machine (please note: coffee not provided).

Guests have access to street parking, a private driveway, and garage space. Please note: your nightly rate includes a 10% McKinleyville Transient Occupancy Tax and a 2% Humboldt County Lodging Alliance tax, collected on behalf of the city and county.

We’re pet-friendly! A $30 per dog, per day fee applies—guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

We provide a high chair and pack and play crib for your family's convenience.

Internet speeds are 22.8 Mbps down / 10.7 Mbps up with 14ms latency. Please use your own streaming accounts (e.g., Netflix). For your safety, a Ring doorbell camera is installed on the front porch.

The host obviously went above and beyond in providing for her guests. The kitchen was well equipped and there were thoughtful touches throughout to make for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was quite small but functional with a shower that was both great and good-sized. Everything worked.

Excellent location to Cal Poly Humboldt. As well as stores and restaurants in McKinleyville. Nice amenities.Very dog friendly, they even had dog poop bags, such a nice touch. We could park in the garage, which we loved. Definitely will stay here again.

Great property, completely updated throughout. Check in was a breeze with no hiccups. And did Toni think of everything, amenity-wise? Yes! Fresh, fluffy towels, quality cookware, a variety of small kitchen appliances for use - even those little clips for chip bags. Beds are also new and quite comfy. One note of caution: it doesn't show in the pics so well, but the driveway is steep and the hump over the sidewalk is prominent. If you have a lower vehicle as we do, it may scrape the bottom unless you approach from an angle. All in all, a great stay - thanks!
