Guestbook comments from the owner

This house was perfect for a New Years weekend with friends! We had one three-year-old who was in heaven with all of the toys in the downstairs playroom (along with six 30 year old men who had a ping pong tournament that lasted a whole day). The rooms are a good size and the whole place was clean and easy to use. Daniel was a great host- he was easy to get in touch with before and during our stay and even sent restaurant recommendations and information about nearby grocery stores, etc. Altogether this was a wonderful experience!

Amazing property right on the water!

  • 5 of 5

This house is incredible! Right on the water, amazing views and a gorgeous house. We had 8 couples come here for a fun couples weekend and we had such a great time. There is a great winery about 15 minutes away and plenty nearby for whatever you need. We had a great time playing pool and ping pong and the back deck is fantastic. Can't recommend this place enough!

New Years' Weekend at the Lake

  • 4 of 5

Our children and their families enjoyed a fun weekend together. The house flowed very well with room for the children to play and room for the adults to visit. The kitchen was large enough for several "cooks" to work together. The dishwasher's upper shelf was broken, but still functional and the corner molding on the end of the counter was loose. The dining table seated all of us very comfortably.

It was an off season weekend, December 29th through January 1st, and temperatures were below freezing. Although we paid for linens, some of the towels smelled moldy and blankets were not available. We were never able to get the house to feel warm, so most of us were cold the entire time.

Late at night, a full moon shone through the upper window of the vaulted living room. And the lake views were lovely. We would enjoy a summer stay when the outside amenities could better be enjoyed and the weather would be warmer.

Owner's Response: Thanks again Tony for choosing my home to celebrate Christmas with your family. Linens were laundered the day of your arrival so I'm not sure why any would have smelled moldy but I'm sorry about that! As for the temperatures, yes we definitely aren't used to lows of 11-13 degrees like they were that weekend!! Since we now have so many offseason renters, I am making plans to address that issue. I'm going to order electric fireplaces to put in the downstairs bedrooms which, based on their heat rating, would be capable of hearing the entire level on their own even without the regular central heat in the house. It normally isn't an issue, but I have noticed that the heat pump has some struggles keeping the lower level at 70 degrees when overnight lows drop down into the teens so hopefully that will help.

Something for everyone!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend at this house and had a great time. There was something for everything and plenty of space for the whole gang! The little boys (2 and 3 years old) loved the playroom with the train table and Beach area. Their dads loved the deck and fire pit. The ladies loved the big table for everyone to eat and that everyone had a space to sleep! We look forward to scheduling a summer weekend as well!

Comfortable nice large house

  • 4 of 5

The house is large, clean, and comfortable. We had a great time with our large family here celebrating my husbands birthday. It is located close to a great winery and has a grocery store 5 minutes away which was very convenient. The lake is beautiful. The only minor complains were the unexpected rental fee for linens. Seems this could just be included up front with rental cost. And the towels all had a damp mildew smell. Nothing major to ruin the trip or anything. Daniel was so great with communication and was very helpful booking the trip and answering questions.

Beautiful property, will be renting again at some point

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival we were a little confused because of the volleyball court. We had thought it was on the side, since we were told the septic field was in the middle of the circular driveway and not to park in the middle. Sure enough the volleyball court was right in the middle, so I'm not sure why someone would choose to park in the sand. We used the court just about everyday minus the rain, it's a bit tiny and the sand isn't exactly the best which left our legs a bit cut up when we dove but it was still a lot of fun. If you plan on playing volleyball be sure to make a wall with your cars around the court cause if you don't the ball will go directly into the trees, or down the hill straight for the lake. As well leave a pair of sandals nearby as if you have to chase a ball you'll be running barefoot over rocks, dirt, and plant life. There were racquets as well for badminton which was a lot of fun as well, and less chasing required. Inside the house was stunning. It has a kind of old homey type feel with beautiful views of the lake. There is so much space that half of the time you didn't realize how many people are there and where everyone is (We had 16). The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking, though we used the grill the majority of the weekend. The dining table is massive and seats 16 with ease. The couches and beds are very comfortable and a lot of us ended up passing out on them after a day of swimming. There is a lot of fishing poles available which was nice, but we didn't get any bites. There is a sand pit outside by the water with some chairs and ladderball. The biggest problem was the ladderballs had been left out for god knows how long, so the strings on the balls were torn through so it was unplayable. There was a hammock by the sand pit that takes a bit to get comfortable but once you do it's amazing. There is a 6 person floaty which we used as well. It is anchored down, which wasn't a problem as we didnt want to float away anyways. There is a small row boat which a few of us took out one day. The basement has a bunch of toys, nerf guns, stuffed animals, toy train set, punching bag, air hockey, ping pong, and pool table. We didn't touch the bag as it looked to be on its last legs. The air hockey table didn't keep score, but still fun. The ping pong table we used the most and has definitely been through a lot. As well the pool table has seen better days, but it gets the job done. All in all great weekend, charming house
