Great Place

This is one of the best places on the lake. Great part of Lizard Creek that is not as busy, house fits the family comfortably. Plenty of room. The dock is awesome! So much fun swimming and using the kayaks. Boating is great! everyone on the dock can watch skiing and tubing. Chris is great and communicates as needed.

Excellent property

This property is just as described, Chris is a great host and great communication. The house fit our family well and made our 17th year of family vacation enjoyable. The large group of windows made for a beutiful view of the lake and also allowed kids to fish from dock and we could still keep an eye on them. The cove is peaceful and calm for the most part. A little busy on weekends but no more than any other cove on the lake. Thanks again Chris for the great property and we look forward to future stays with you.

Lake Gaston Fun!!

We had a great week here! The house worked well for a wheelchair bound member of our family and slept all of us comfortably. We enjoyed fishing, paddle boarding, boating, tubing, knee boarding, and relaxing..would definitely return!

Perfect Stay!

This house was everything my family and I hoped for. First, the owner is very responsive to any messages sent and easy to work with. We stayed during Thanksgiving and the house had everything we needed. There was enough space for everyone to relax or come together for fun games. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great Stay

Really nice location and house. Fit 6 adults and 5 children easily. The dock was nice, although on the weekend it gets tough to swim due to the wake boats. We enjoyed fishing, tubing, skiing, and swimming. Everything was clean and in working condition.

Terrific for a reunion!

Location is fabulous. Beautiful dock for sitting or swimming. Lovely view of the lake. Design of house provides many options for small groups (or large) to meet while avoiding the noise of kitchen preparations, etc. Chris, the owner, replies promptly and constructively to any concerns. We loved being there!

Birthday Celebration

Lake Gaston is the perfect location for vacations and weekend getaways. The property we rented was perfect in every way. The house is right on the lake, the dock is large and well equipped. The house is beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained. The owner was quick to respond and very helpful. The rate was very reasonable and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Lake Gaston.

Great Lake House

Our family enjoyed our stay in Lizard Creek. The home had everything we needed and more. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. We spent the majority of our time at the dock and loved that we could see our family ski, tube, etc right in front of the dock. The owner was easy to work with and very communicative. We have already booked the house again for next summer. Thank you!

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect

This was the perfect home for our family vacation everyone was able to relax and have fun. Clean, well maintained and the kitchen was fully stocked with anything we needed for cooking. There was even a fancy ice maker in the kitchen (totally unexpected). The accessibility was perfect for my father in law who has minor mobility issues. There were also all kinds of games and puzzles for us to enjoy as a family. Thank you for letting us stay in your home, I hope others enjoy it as much as we did.

Summer at the Lake

We had a great time at this home. We will be back for sure. Plenty of room for our family of 12. We brought our boat and they had a lift for it which was perfect. Our weather was terrific. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. They even had an ice machine that was so great for a large crowd. Fun was had by all!! Thank you.

Great place for family vacation

The house had ample room for our extended family of seven adults and five children. Kitchen is well equipped and there are many areas to play, eat, or sit and enjoy the lake views. The boat house and dock are perfect for fishing and swimming. The portion of the lake is separated from the main channel by an earthworks for a road with a passageway for boats beneath it, so the lake is quiet and calm but still large enough to tune with a pontoon boat. The only surprise was the two rooms with single beds for the kids were situated so you have to go through one to get to the other. That was not popular with the two older kids who had to go through the room with the two younger kids. Just something to be aware of. Overall, we loved the house and the lake and had a very wonderful week.

New Year's with the Family

We have stayed here for three years in a row over New Year's. Each year we have had a terrific stay. We have 8 adults and 6 kids stay, there is plenty of room for everyone. The lake view is amazing. Everything works just as it should. We are able to enjoy our family time together because the house is just right. The owner's are very responsive should we need something. One year we tripped a breaker and had to find the switch and they helped quickly to tell us how to fix it. A fantastic house, great owners, and a wonderful place to relax!

Awesome family vacation

Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our family of 11 enjoyed a lake vacation at his beautiful Home. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep, the kids to play and no one felt cramped. The location is ideal - right on the lake with a big dock and boat lift, a fire pit to enjoy s’mores- grills and a nice deck overlooking to water for family meals. The kids rooms upstairs made it nice for the adults to hang out at night and play games and just talk after the kids went to bed. Chris was super quick to reply to any questions we had and so accommodating. Five stars for this property and owner. We will definitely be back!

45th Birthday Getaway!

I rented this beautiful house for my husbands 45th birthday to spend with family and friends. It was an amazing weekend full of relaxation, yummy food and spectacular views of fall color from the back deck. The owners Chris and Crissy are great, easy to work with and thoughtful. I haven't stopped talking about our little weekend trip to our friends. I look forward to come back and make more special memories in the near future. Truly Happy Guest Jani P.S. This property is dated, the kitchen needs upgrade and dishonest cleaner

This property is very dated in the master bedroom the TV has to be from 1995, the kitchen appliances are very outdated only 2 eye work on the stove. This home does an ice maker which is great however you hear the water running all night. The freezer melted our ice cream. All of the bedding is old and worn. My family text the owner to advise we didn't want to put the trash in the dumpster because it was full, he told us to take it with us on the airplane I guess then tried to accuse us of broken the kitchen drawer and pee in the bed when it was already broken, and ALL ADULTS stayed in the house i think we have control of our bladder. NOT WORTH THE MONEY

The renter did not respect the rules of the house and caused damages to the property, requiring the retaining of the deposit. None of these issues were brought up until the deposit was kept. The booking was for 8 people and 17 cars, and 35+ people were in the driveway at one point. To address their issues in this response: The Tv in the bedroom is not on the listing. Just connected to a DVD player. True, it's older and could be removed. The gas stove is a KitchenAid and works perfectly. Perhaps operator error? This issue with the Freezer was due to a tripped breaker. Too many people overloading the circuit. The kitchen drawer was broken off the track and fell back into the cabinet as if someone had sat on it. It was not reported. The cleaners found it. All of the bedding is replaced yearly. This renter just happened to be at the end of the year. Newer sheets could have been made available if communicated. Spares are in a closet. As far as the pee in the bed. I can only say what the cleaning staff reported. The mattress has now been replaced. Trash left in the house - This was a 3-night stay for 8 people and the 3 55-gallon trash cans were completely filled. There are signs posted on the indoor cans stating that if the trash doesn’t fit in the outdoor cans, please take it with you.

Perfect Vacation Home

Chris, the owner, was super easy and pleasant to work with from the beginning of our booking process. He’s very quick to answer any questions! This home is beautiful and perfect for families. We loved the oversized kitchen and lots of counter space! My family took turns cooking each night and it was nice to have that space to move around the kitchen. Loved the oversized freezer and frig! Beds were comfortable which is just want you need after a full day on the lake! Lots of room inside for sitting and relaxing. We enjoyed the Foosball table and our family had a Foosball tournament. They had lots of game options including a table that flips sides to include backgammon, scrabble and monopoly. It was so cool. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful home! The location is amazing. It is close to many things including Food Lion. This is a perfect and quiet area off the main lake which we loved because it wasn’t crowded and felt like we had the whole area to ourselves to boat, tube, and jetski! Everyone loved the dock and how we were able to jump off in deep water and layout, yet have some shade too! The house is right on the water and has a great viewing room (sunroom) to watch the kids tube from inside the home if you want. It was a brilliant idea to have walkie-talkies available for us. We used them to radio the boat , the dock, and anyone in the house that needed to come down, or bring us snacks. We used them all week! Thank you for opening up your amazing home! Highly recommend for anyone looking a home with privacy and lots of space! We will be back soon!!

Outstanding lakeside location

The location is amazing for those who enjoy lake living. Ideal for swimming, kayaking, fishing and birdwatching. Boat rentals are available very close by. The house design made large group living enjoyable.... a large kitchen, multiple living areas and bathrooms, good insulation between rooms. The owner was quickly responsive to minor glitches. We enjoyed it verymuch and plan to return!

Family long weekend

We had THE BEST TIME! The nice neighbors let us hide our cars in their driveway so we could all jump out and surprise our mom for her 70th bday. She didn't know were she was going or that we would be there. This house is even bigger than the pictures show. The blue room upstairs is huge and quiet. My baby slept in a pack n play in this room and slept perfectly with a very loud downstairs crowd. The two twin bedrooms were the perfect set up for the young kids (2, 4, 8, and 11). The two TV areas were also the perfect set up. The older two played Playstation and the younger two watched Disney+ in the two separate areas. The kitchen is bigger than these pictures look. We could all comfortably gather around the island to talk. We cooked and cleaned with multiple cooks in the kitchen! I am very particularly about cleanliness and usually disappointed in the cleanliness of other rentals and their inaccurate ratings. This house is extremely clean. Some typical wear and tear like you have in your own home. You can tell these owners actually visit this house and care about its condition. Chris was extremely responsive and helpful. We made a fire in the firepit, fished off the dock, rented a pontoon boat and cooked great meals. I could go on and on. I would change nothing. This is the first time I have ever written a positive review. It's also my first time using VRBO... maybe it is the upgrade I needed. I think we are a lake family now!

AMAZING

Every aspect of this vacation rental was amazing. The location was perfect, close to Food Lion and a coffee house. We enjoyed the dock and fire pit, used the kayaks and fished off the dock. Furnishing where comfortable and I loved the washer and dryer. Very spacious freezer and refrigerator. GREAT PLACE. JEAN

I love this lake! So easy to get to and it is so clean.
The setting for this house is like your own private park.
I love having lots of parking and the dock had no steps to climb to get to the house. Wonderful space for the whole family. The Ramp out front gives access to my 92 year old grandfather!
