Beautiful Property, Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This is a very well equiped home and on a beautiful location. The river is just outside the back door and it was so relaxing to just set on the deck or soak in the hot tub. The pictures are very accurate but somehow the house still exceeded my expectations. The kitchen is well equiped with just about anything you need and unlike some rentals there are spices, condiments, etc so that you don't have to race off to town for every little thing you need. We cooked several amazing dinners with ease.

One reviewer noted the water had a smell-which the owner corrected---and we found no problems with that whatsoever. In fact, I thought the water tasted great.

Our two kids and their spouses joined us for most of our stay and we had plenty of room to spread out and the house easily accomodated the six of us.

We enjoyed hiking near Vallecito Lake area, Silverton and nearby ghost towns and made a trip over to Mesa Verde.

Nearby Durango has all the necessary stores for whatever you may need along with the usual assortment of restaurants. Our favorite place to eat was Handlebars Food and Saloon in Silverton.

We are on the Verizon network and were unable to get any signal at the house but the internet served all six of us well so we had no problems communicating with the outside worrld if you feel you must. If you need to make phone calls use an app like Vonage which worked well for me.

We would definitely return to this vacation house. The management company was easy to work with and very responsive to my emails.

Great home and a relaxing retreat!

  • 4 of 5

This home is just lovely and in such a tranquil setting. We feel relaxed and rejuvenated after spending time fishing and enjoying the river and playing in the spacious backyard. Our children were so entertained and w/out electronics! The home itself is very nicely furnished, has comfortable furniture and beds, and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything a cook will need. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful cabin but very stinky water.

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, very pretty site, but the water out of every faucet smelled very strongly of sulfur. Won't ever rent this cabin again & can't recommend to anyone.

Owner's Response: We wish you would have contacted us as we have some tips on the water. This is a mountain home on a well so sometimes there is an odor if the water has not been flushed through the pipes and has been sitting for a bit. Update 5/26/17: The waster issue has been looked at by a professional and a new system put in place to get rid of the problem.

Peaceful Mountain Get Away

  • 5 of 5

My family and I decided to plan a last minute getaway to Colorado Thanksgiving week. The cabin was LOVELY!!! A very large property with all the amenities and a relatively short drive into town. We woke up after our first night to beautiful snow drenched landscape. The cabin had great amenities allowing us to cook some of our meals in and enjoy family time together. The location is quiet and pretty secluded with just a few surronding neighbors. We loved the river that ran through the back of the property. It was peaceful and beautiful in the snow. The layout of the cabin was great with plenty of sleeping room for anyone with a large family. It is about an hour away from Pagosa Hot Springs and we would highly recommend a visit there. We enjoyed many of their 24 natural hot spring pools. We also highly recommend a drive into Bayfield to eat breakfast at The Tuning Fork Cafe downtown. It was delicious!!! The drive to Bayfield was very pretty with open land that stretched across the base of beautiful mountains. We would HIGHLY recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone that wants to get away from it all but still be a short drive back into civilization.
