About Ron and Cheryl Morse

Durango residents:

We started visiting the Durango area in the fall of 2013 when our son started school at Fort Lewis College. We quickly fell in love with the area...enough so that we decided to make a huge lifestyle change and moved here after spending 25 years in Austin.

Once we arrived in Durango, we soon realized that this area is all that we expected (and more). We also knew that we wanted to find a vacation home on the water. When we found this cabin we knew it was a perfect place to spend quality downtime with our family. One of our favorite things to do is to sit on the deck and enjoy the sound of the water flowing by.

We hope that you will enjoy your time at our cabin as much as we do.

Very clean and great location

  • 5 of 5

I'm a bit picky when it comes to cleanliness and this cute cabin exceeded my expectations. Very clean and the perfect location allowing the boys to fly fish while the girls shopped in Durango. Nobody wanted to leave. Next time we will have a longer stay to enjoy more of what the area has to offer.

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the cabin! While we there we visited Mesa Verde National Park a couple of days to see the Indian Cliff dwellings. Spent a day in Durango sight seeing. Went to Silverton and visited the Old Hundred Gold Mine. We even tried our hand at fly fishing at the lake near by. It was great coming back to the cabin after our daily adventures to the relaxing sounds of the river and enjoying the deck. Ron and Cheryl were great hosts and very helpful.

Loved our visit to Durango. This cabin was perfect for our family. It was very relaxing and being on the river was a true delight. We were very impressed with the stocked kitchen as well as the snacks provided by the host. We would definitely recommend this property.

Wonderful cabin on the river

  • 5 of 5

WOW. What a wonderful visit! The hosts were great in communicating about our visit, right down to warning us about the "calming bumps" that were on the road to the cabin. (Thank you for that!). We were greeted with a big basket of snacks, and a pan of fresh baked brownies. The main cabin was spotless and well appointed. We were traveling with my parents, and they loved having their own little "tiny bedroom" separate from the main quarters. The highlight of the stay - the river. I couldn't get enough of sitting on the deck listening to and watching the river flow right by us. The cabin was well appointed, and had terrific resources on touring the area, which we took advantage of. My only regret - we did not stay enough days in this wonderful place. There is so much to do and see in the area, and to come back to stellar accommodations each night was wonderful. I absolutely will book this place when we return to Durango - but next time, it will be for a week. This is absolutely one of my most favorite rentals!

Very comfy home

  • 5 of 5

In general the home had everything to make you comfortable even fresher baked brownies. The only thing we found lacking was a light over the door of the 2nd bedroom which was only accessible from outside. If you did not have a flashlight at night putting in the door code was a challenge

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice review of our cabin. I'm sorry the motion-detection light was not operating when you were at the cabin. We have the lights over the front door to the cabin and also shining on the guest quarters for just that reason. It must be that the previous guest turned that switch off and we didn't notice and get it turned back on for your arrival. We have since written a note on that switch to leave it on at all times so that future guests are sure to have the lights on when they arrive and when they go out to the guest quarters. Thanks again for your feedback. Best regards. Ron

Absolutely lovely

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful property, lovely setting and so relaxing on the river! The cabin was very tastefully decorated and the gracious owners made sure we were very comfortable from the beginning - even leaving us fresh baked brownies upon our arrival! Which we devoured! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay here and we are already planning when we can come back !
