About Kevin and Danielle McCarthy
Kevin and Danielle McCarthy purchased Coconuts in 2010, and began extensive expansion, remodeling, and upgrades, which were completed in early 2012. Coconuts has since become one of the most popular rental villas on St. John. In 2013, we had an opportunity to purchase the adjacent villa on Gifft Hill, Plumeria vrbo 472847, which allows larger groups of up to sixteen guests to be accommodated. At both Coconuts and Plumeria, we are singularly focused on making the guest experience the finest it can possibly be.

Why Kevin and Danielle McCarthy chose Estate Glucksberg and Grunwald
We were in the market for a villa with incredible ocean views, sunsets, Caribbean indoor / outdoor living, a level floor plan with a flat driveway, quick and easy access to Cruz Bay, and complete privacy. We were delighted to find Coconuts in the summer of 2010, which fulfilled all of our expectations and more. With the renovations and expansion that we embarked upon, Coconuts has gotten even better. We invite you to join our many repeat guests in discovering this tropical gem.

Such a wonderful and relaxing vacation spot. The view from Coconuts was absolutely breathtaking. It doesn’t get any better than this. This property was perfect for our family getaway. The owners have covered everything you need. The outdoor grilling spot was top notch and very clean. Enjoyed many nights using the pool and hot tub. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Kevin and Danielle. Also thank you for your quick response to any questions we had. Truly enjoyed.
Lovely villa and hosts
Beautiful spot, lovely property and gracious hosts. This was my second visit to Coconuts and won't be my last. The property is excellent for families and small groups, and quite honestly, it's hard to leave. We far preferred evenings at home overlooking those beautiful sunsets to running around the island restaurants. We also hired some at-home food services which made hanging out in that amazing setting even more special.
Kevin and Danielle have set the bar high for the rest of the vacation rental owners! Firstly, I can’t imagine a better view on St John than the one they have at Coconuts. The pictures are accurate (and I certain took plenty of my own) but they just can’t capture the magic that happens when the sun goes down. We would race home from whatever beach we were on to watch the “show” that was unfolding right from our deck. Prior to arriving at Coconuts, I booked my family a diner reservation at a popular (expensive) restaurant boasting “spectacular sunsets”. After the first night at the villa, I cancelled it because nothing was going to beat what we had going on from the comforts of our hot tub with drinks in hand.! We moved all of our future reservations to occur after the sun went down.
Secondly, the house came with everything you could want and more, and things you couldn’t even dream you would need or ever have time to use. Their coffee set up is for real!!! You have to experience for yourself to understand. Small touches like that are all over their property. I had long conversations with Danielle, not that there was anything wrong to discuss we were just talking. Like old friends. That’s the type of person you will get when renting this property (and their property next door Plumeria ). They truly take a lot of pride in their homes and will do everything that they can to make sure your stay is the best it could be!
We loved out visit to Coconuts. The view over Cruz Bay and St Thomas was spectacular, and we could enjoy it from the hot tub. The great room was very comfortable and the kitchen was well furnished. I am happy to recommend it!
Even better than the beautiful pictures
This was our first VRBO rental and we have already booked the property for next year which says it all. The online pictures showed a gorgeous house with amazing views. When we walked in, the views and property were even better.
The owners responded to any questions we emailed or texted within minutes. I don't think they ever sleep. Their love of their property is shown by their attention to every last detail..
What we loved most was the huge shaded outdoor area which is where we spent most of our time hanging out and enjoying the view.
There is no restaurant with a better view than we had from the outdoor table as we ate breakfast and lunch. Town is only a 10 minute drive going the non-scary way and the north shore beaches only another 10 minutes.
St. John is back. Everyone on the island did an incredible job rebuilding from their devistating hurricanes.
We can't wait until our next visit when we are told that off season renovations will make Coconuts even better. Thank you, Kevin and Danielle.
About St. John:
Travelers have once again voted St. John their #1 Caribbean destination in 2013, and for good reason. Thanks to the foresight of the philanthropist and naturalist Laurence Rockefeller, two-thirds of St. John has been and will in perpetuity be preserved in its original state, as part of the U. S. Virgin Islands National Park. Its 35 picture-perfect white sand beaches are each unique, with many of these lying within the boundaries of the National Park. As a result, when you turn away from the Caribbean Sea and look inland, you witness unspoiled virgin green hillsides, looking much as they did back in 1493, when Christopher Columbus discovered and named these islands. St. John's hilly terrain, and the literally hundreds of islands and cays that surround it, provide unmatched vistas and photographic opportunities from all around the island. The V.I. National Park maintains dozens of excellent hiking trails, and well preserved ruins from the era of the sugar mills allow you to step back in time to that earlier period. Despite large tracts of undeveloped natural beauty, St. John also offers extensive fine dining options, and the seaside village of Cruz Bay has many interesting shops to peruse.
If this will be your first visit to St. John, you are in for a treat!
