Spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

Two friends and I stayed a week here. The house is spacious and offers great views of the Hudson, and even from three bedrooms. It's also well-stocked, even with plenty of brochures for area attractions. The location was convenient for numerous historic sites and wineries. We only experienced one minor issue with a TV and Angela solved it in a very timely fashion. She was very responsive throughout the process. We didn't want to leave!

Perfect get away home

Beautiful place. The view of the river was spectacular. You can see the river from the living and dining rooms as both have large windows. Angela was helpful but respected our privacy also. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. A wonderful place to stay.

Family Vacation For West Point Graduation

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed this beautiful Ulster Park property. It is located directly on the Hudson River, with gorgeous views. We enjoyed watching the various boats go by and the daily trains in the distance. There is a bird feeder hung from the deck area that attracts a variety of birds continuously. Chipmunks run around and enjoy the bird seed that falls from the feeder. Plenty of deer around and not uncommon to see them when driving down the road to and from the house.

The home is beautiful and the pictures really do not do it justice. It is very spacious. It is decorated with an array of pottery and tile pieces and some antique furniture and lamps. Nicely furnished. The bedrooms were comfortable. The views are wonderful! From the living area you see the Hudson River and there is a large cluster of beautiful white birch trees at the edge of the property. There is a large media room that our grandchildren enjoyed staying in. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck daily and enjoying the beautiful views. There is a retractable awning to cover the deck. One day we had a light rain and the awning was nice to use so we could still enjoy the outdoors. We have rented from VRBO for years, and I must say this home was the best stocked. It has a butlers pantry with a large variety of cooking items. There is also a nice screened in porch off one of the bedrooms and the sofa bed room. It is large with ceiling fans and nice outdoor furniture. We enjoyed walking down to the waterfront area. There is a nicely landscaped stone path at the back of the house that leads down to this area. Easy shopping in the Kingston area. There is a super Wal-Mart we used, also several wine and liquor stores in the area. The home is beautifully landscaped with lots of colorful flowers in stone lined beds and pots.

The property manager, Angela, lives on the property in a cottage. She greeted us the afternoon we arrived. She was very prompt to answer any questions we had about the home and had some helpful tips, as to attractions in the area. There are parking spaces for two in the front of the home and several in the back.

Much to do in this beautiful area. We enjoyed Hyde Park seeing the FDR Library and Museum and having dinner at the Culinary Institute. We took the train from Poughkeepsie into Grand Central Station and spent the entire day touring the city. We ended the week seeing our nephew graduate from West Point. Great fun and memories! Five star rating!!

Beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

The property is on a bluff overlooking the Hudson, so it has great views from basically every room. The house is large, well stocked, well maintained, and it has great outdoor living spaces. Our favorite was large, very comfortable screen porch. Angela is a very courteous and responsive host.

4 Stars - Comfortable home on the Hudson - Great Access to Historic Sites and Hiking

  • 4 of 5

4 friends greatly enjoyed this home for a Hudson Valley visit. Historic sites are within easy drive across the river. Home somewhat dated, but large rooms and windows on 2 floors had great views of a wooded area and waterfront. Comfortable beds, huge TV, lots of room. Across street from hiking area to Esopus Lake. Nearby good restaurants in Kingston and just across river. Recommend Rhinebeck Aerodrome biplane show, and "PorchFest" as well as Hyde Park's FDR Presidential Estate and Library/Museum and Hudson's Olana estate of Artist Frederick Church. Manager Angela was helpful and available.

Minor Issues: 2 outside decks and waterfront area needed cleaning. Waterfront area was accessible but chairs were dirty and in poor shape. Most closets and kitchen contained many owner's articles, food etc. Despite well screened doors and windows, various bugs were also guests. Angela responded to all these issues and will address them.
