Mother's Day Retreat

  • 5 of 5

As a part of our annual Mother's Day Retreat, my sister, mother, two daughters and myself all rented this lovely waterfront apartment in Annapolis Royal.

We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the living area to socialize in, with large windows that looked right out onto the ocean.

It was so well stocked, with some basic kitchen staples, to what seemed like bottomless coffee and tea, as well as all the kitchen utensils you may need! (including a wine opener :) )

We would definitely recommend this property; and may even stay there ourselves again in the future!

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

Well provisioned 2nd floor apartment over retail space in Annapolis Royal. Somewhat creaky, as might be expected in older buildings. Two decent bedrooms with double beds and one room with a futon. Well equipped kitchen included complimentary coffee, milk, eggs, butter, milk, and juice. Nice touch! Acceptable single bathroom. Front sitting room looks out to the water. Satellite TV worked, but required reset of the box multiple times. All in all, a successful stay.

An excellent accommodation with great views and right at the heart of town

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived to find the apartment sparkling clean, we also found food in the "fridge, such as eggs, butter, juice bread etc. There was also a bottle of wine and a voucher for the local pub/restaurant. The beds were nicely prepared with freshly ironed cotton sheets and there were lots of towels. The views from the lounge oer the harbour are amazing and I will remember the sunsets for a long time. We were within a short walk of cafes and restaurants as well as shops; we could self-cater as the kitchen was fully equiped. There was plenty of room in the two bedrooms and the utility room and we made good use of the washer and dryer. There was even a dish-washer in the kitchen. The housekeeper is obviously someone of a high standard and the caretakers, Jean and Lloyd cerytainly live up to their name. I would nad have recommend this venue to friends and family and will definitely stay at any future dates we are in Annapolis Royal.

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

A colleague and myself were in town on business for 6 nights. We found out very last minute about the trip, and Anita was very

accommodating, opening her apartment for us out of season and taking our last minute reservation. The apartment was clean,

comfortable, had a great view of the water and was very centrally located. The building was quiet, no noise from neighbors. All

rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Anita even made sure we had some basics stocked for our stay (eggs, butter, bread, milk - and a

bottle of wine!). The price was very reasonable, and we were quite happy with both the apartment and the service we received! We would

happily recommend this place to anyone who happens to be traveling in the area. We will look to make use of it again in the future if/when we are

in the area and in need.

Wilf's Place is a beautiful place to stay in Annapolis Royal. We have been going to the town for many years as it is my husband's hometown. The apartment was the best place we've ever stayed at in the town because of all the amenities....being able to cook our own meals at times, its central location, the washer and dryer in the apartment, etc. It was perfect. Anita's attention to detail is amazing! We would highly recommend Wilf's Place to everyone. Terrific value for the $ charged.

Map

In 2004, the United Nations Environment Program called Annapolis Royal 'the most livable' small town in the world. It was selected for the beauty of its landscape and the attention it gives to local heritage and the environment. The town of 525 was the site of the first permanent European settlement in Canada.

Located on the shore of the Annapolis River, Annapolis Royal dates back to 1629. It was the capital of Acadia and then Nova Scotia for more than 100 years until the founding of Halifax in 1749.

Today Annapolis Royal plays host to visitors from all over the world. Old and new exist side by side--the largest tidal power project in the world down the way from the fort that stood guard over the river for both the British and French at different times in its history.

This small corner of Nova Scotia houses world-class craftspeople and artists showing their wares at the summer market. Restaurants and shops dot the main street, just steps away from Wilf's Place. Come and stay in wonderful Annapolis Royal!
