House was very clean and the views are amazing
Gorgeous view - Great place
We rented this place along the Lost Coast for a few nights. What a wonderful get-away. Close enough to two great restaurants but very also private. It is located on a quiet cul-de-sac. Just the sounds of the waves. The place is great for two people, super clean and very well cared for.
Very nice stay
Enjoyed very much ... views are spectacular after the early morning fog clears .. can highly recommend .. very relaxing!
We came to this lovely Shelter Cove property to escape life in the city. This was the perfect spot to this. The property is well maintained and offers a truly breathtaking view. The hot tub was lovely addition. The only bit of advice I could offer was in regards to the tools offered in the kitchen. It would have been nice to have measuring cups and spoons since I did a lot of cooking at the property.
Our time here was just what we needed. Thank you for sharing this special place with us.
Great accomodations- very clean and well equipped. Good privacy and fabulous view!
Would book this rental again, next time bring my husband.
Incredible views and remarkable privacy
Forget the New Jersey Shore where you need to purchase a "beach tag" to fight for a place to spread your towel! This house is perched on a hillside with unobstructed panoramic views that are >180 degrees due to the curve of the coastline. There is a sense of privacy because the lots on each side (plus across the street) are open, so neighbors are comfortably distant. The main living area is the 4th (top) floor, and has an open floor plan with lots of windows. The feeling is quite spacious and relaxing. The bedroom has only a small ocean view, but its lovely sound is clearly heard. There is also access to the 3rd floor (when you want shade on the deck). We saw a mom deer with her fawn, a fox and lots of birds riding the thermals (they are at eye level due to the height of the top floor). As a bonus, we spotted small spouts offshore that were probably whales. We also had fun watching the tides creep and recede on the small black pebble beach. Bring binoculars!
The community of Shelter Cove is very small with limited dining and shopping options. We were glad that we were prepared to dine in for most meals and had brought supplies with us, although the Venezuelan restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The home’s kitchen is adequately equipped for preparing simple meals. There is a nice TV and DVD player, but no cable or stereo, so guests that depend on electronic entertainment should plan accordingly. We had a couple of questions during our stay and Simy responded promptly.
Overall we very much enjoyed our three nights here and my husband had to drag me away from the deck when it was time to leave. We were especially fortunate with the weather: clear sunny days with little to no wind. For a quiet couple who appreciates the spectacular California coastline and values privacy, this house is ideal.
