This review is unfortunate and appears retaliatory based on the timeline of events, coming only after the guest was charged for the extraordinary condition in which the property was left. This was not a typical departure cleaning. Restoring the cabin for our next arriving guests required substantially more labor than a normal turnover. During the stay, we checked in ​to ensure everything was going well, and the guest responded, "Excellent, thank you for asking." On the day of departure, the guest also wrote, "Very lovely place. Really enjoyed it." None of the concerns described in this review were reported during the stay or at checkout, despite our communication and the opportunity to bring them to our attention. Upon arrival, ​cleaning immediately began documenting the condition of the property with photographs and requested additional assistance due to the amount of work required. Extensive trash and food debris were found throughout the cabin​, garage​ and grounds, food was smashed into floors and other surfaces, there was an extraordinary amount of laundry, including clean bedding and blankets that had been removed from closet shelves and left on the floors, requiring laundering before the next guests could use them. Additional conditions included vomit on bedding, damaged curtain rods, fireworks debris scattered throughout the property and waterfront, and burn marks on the dock and inside the boat after fireworks were discharged from the cabin deck and boat without permission.​ These conditions were documented with photographs and written statements. No concerns similar to those raised in this review had ever been reported prior to this stay, nor have they been reported by subsequent guests. We take guest concerns seriously and ​investigate every concern brought to our attention. Following this stay, the property was inspected, prepared for the next guests, and no such concerns were reported. Moose Cabin has many loyal repeat guests, including families who return year after year, with some staying for two weeks each fall. We encourage prospective guests to read our many 10/10 reviews, which accurately reflect the experience our guests have enjoyed at Moose Cabin over the years.

Hi Diane, Thanks for leaving a review. We are sorry you were disappointed. We pride ourselves on communication. I checked in with you during and after your stay and not once did you reply back to me or let me know you were having any issues. The propane tanks were full, however you didn't have them tightened enough. All you need to do is ask if you are having a problem.. The water does have iron in it which is common in the area . This info was known to you before you arrived, in the information, and it's suggested that you bring drinking water. Will for sure check out the beds, but normally that is a personal preference. This is a rustic area which is stated in the listing and communicated to you prior to your arrival as well. The rustic-ness and nature is beautiful out here but we realize it's not for everyone.
