Beautiful rental apartment in Rome center at Governo Vecchio, or the street stretching over one of the city's most interesting areas, including Piazza Navona. Among its great assets, a large terrace overlooks the clock towering over nearby Piazza dell'Orologio. It sleeps up to 4 people, thus being ideal for two couples of friends or a family holiday.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of an ancient building, with an elevator up a flight of 15 steps. There is an entrance hall that leads to the living room furnished with two sofas and two armchairs, a dining table with 4 seats, a couple of low tables, old desk and commode, all that may seem desirable for watching television and other vacation activities.
On one side of the living room, a window corridor separates the bedrooms. A double bedroom is located at one end of the corridor, it has wardrobe, suit hanger, desk and side tables, also windows with a balcony overlooking the rear of the house, with a picturesque Rome view, and an inner bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and set in a separate corner of the apartment. It includes cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, Nespresso Coffee Maker and a wall table to put things on or sit at while cooking and eating - be it the Italian way or not - but you'd better use the dining room for a mealtime. A separate closet along the corridor contains the washing machine.
At the other end of the corridor there is a twin or double bedroom, past which you get into a small room with wardrobe, a desk with one seat, an armchair, a balcony that overlooks the rear of the house, with the same picturesque Rome view, apart from another inner bathroom with tub.
The apartment has air-conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room.
Access to the private terrace is granted solely to Clock House's renters through an external flight of steps up to the top level by steps or elevator.
The terrace is equipped with a kitchenette to make breakfast or warm up food, and also a dining table with chairs.

Cute Roman Apartment With Great Location
This comfortable and spacious apartment is not to be missed. It's clean, in good shape and has everything you need. The location cannot be beat; it is within walking distance to many top sights in Rome. One of the best features of our stay was the kindness of the property manager: Emanuele. He was extremely gracious, helpful and patient. Please do not miss the rooftop terrace with amazing views. Our family enjoyed dinner on the terrace one evening which will be a memory of a lifetime. If you want to see what it is like to live like a Roman, stay here!
Spacious in a perfect location!
This apartment is clean, large and bright. There are large windows in almost every room that overlook a courtyard. The living room is very spacious and has two comfortable couches, so we spent a lot of time there. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, allowing good separation and a lot of privacy, so it is a really nice layout for 2 couples, friends or a family like us with teenage children. The kitchen is small but modern with new appliances.
The location can't be beat. The apartment is in the old section of Rome, and everything you want to see in Rome is within a 15 minute walk. It is also on a lively street filled with boutiques, restaurants and gelaterias, so you don't have to go far to shop and eat well. The apartment is on the 4th floor of an ancient building, so there are some design compromises as a result. There is one full flight of stairs, and then a small elevator for the remaining 3 flights. The terrace is on the 5th floor, and that is a walk up. It was very hot when we were in Rome, so we used the terrace in the late afternoon and a lot at night. It is lovely, peaceful and cool up there at night. The terrace is one flight up from the actual apartment, so it does take some effort, however, there is a sink, refrigerator and freezer up there, so we left glasses, drinks and ice there, and found it very convenient once you set it up. The bathrooms are updated, but I wouldn't call them modern. One bathroom has a standard shower which all four of us used. The other bathroom has what I call a "European bath and splash" - it is a small tub designed for sitting with a wand. There are three air conditioners in the apartment - one works very well, and the other two are fair, but adequate. I only reason why I am not giving this apartment 5 stars is because the photos show a little nicer than the apartment actually is. I would describe it as "shabby chic" - the furniture is well loved and worn, and a bit random with odds and ends laying around. Due to the age of the building, there are some unexpected steps up and down, so I would not recommend this apartment for toddlers or elderly folks. Otherwise, a great apartment that is perfect for an extended stay!
We absolutely loved our stay. There was plenty of room for two couples. The location is the best. We hope to return with our children in December and will book this place again. Many thanks!
Living the good life in Central Rome
We lived in Rome for two years in 70-72 on Via Boncompagni off of Via Veneto with a terrace that overlooked all of Rome. When you come back to Rome with your son, who was born there, you need a terrace to fully experience the splendid evening light, rooftops and evening fresh air. This apartment fulfilled our expectations.
Comfortable, clean, well located. Charming seagull family with 3 large babies on the roof above the terrace - we like animals.
Exact Airport transportation, and you cannot get a better price.
Tutto era simpatico, grazie ai tutti.
Beautiful home, perfect location, fabulous terrace
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Rome. It is beautiful, spacious, and charming with all the modern conveniences of new appliances. The apartment is located on a lovely street so close to wonderful restaurants, pizzerias, and gelaterias yet steps from the Campo Fiore, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Included with this beautiful apartment is access to your private roof top terrace with a fabulous view and an extra kitchen to store your beer and wine for a private happy hour. Sarah was waiting for us when we arrived, explained everything in detail and was so helpful in arranging a ride to the airport. She and Leopoldo replied to our many emails within minutes and were always available by cell phone. They even left us a "goody bag" with wine, olive oil and snacks plus plenty of coffee. We loved having two bathrooms, a Nesprosso machine, espresso maker, washer and microwave oven. If you visit Rome, this is definitely the place to stay.
Excellent Location, nice apartment
We had a great experience with this property. It was well equipped and spacious enough for two couples. The location was perfect - close to everything and convenient. The welcome packet and information was helpful. At night, it is rather loud especially when the seagulls and other birds are vocal. We did not realize or understand the AC system but then realized it was unplugged (we wanted it as an option to cover the noise)...we finally realized the units were unplugged. We slept with windows open - but with the noise it was tough. One important note, we would have loved to use the terrace but it is not directly connected to the apartment as we expected. You need to go out the front door, up one flight of stairs further in the stairwell and through 2 sets of doors. It would be hard to lug stuff there with the keys and doors needed to access it. It is important to note that there is a ice shower in one bathroom and a very small tub in the other. It is lovely apartment overall and everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful.
Hello Sara, I must say I am surprised after your comments here. I am sorry to learn that you had an issue with the air conditioning, since we had been in contact during your stay, and you hadn't mentioned that. Of course, I would have helped. We do unplug the units in winter because our guests don't usually need air conditioning at this time of the year, whereas the heating is on. Also, true: The terrace is one floor atop of the apartment, as written in the VRBO description. After I read yours, I checked with the current guests, who came in right after you; they said they have hot water in the shower. If I had known you didn't, I would have taken some action to make your time in Rome even greater. Emanuele
