Cold summer in Rome! Beautiful Terrace / Air Conditioning - Wi-Fi - Washer

Overview

About the property

Beautiful rental apartment in Rome center at Governo Vecchio, or the street stretching over one of the city's most interesting areas, including Piazza Navona. Among its great assets, a large terrace overlooks the clock towering over nearby Piazza dell'Orologio. It sleeps up to 4 people, thus being ideal for two couples of friends or a family holiday.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of an ancient building, with an elevator up a flight of 15 steps. There is an entrance hall that leads to the living room furnished with two sofas and two armchairs, a dining table with 4 seats, a couple of low tables, old desk and commode, all that may seem desirable for watching television and other vacation activities.

On one side of the living room, a window corridor separates the bedrooms. A double bedroom is located at one end of the corridor, it has wardrobe, suit hanger, desk and side tables, also windows with a balcony overlooking the rear of the house, with a picturesque Rome view, and an inner bathroom with shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and set in a separate corner of the apartment. It includes cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, Nespresso Coffee Maker and a wall table to put things on or sit at while cooking and eating - be it the Italian way or not - but you'd better use the dining room for a mealtime. A separate closet along the corridor contains the washing machine.

At the other end of the corridor there is a twin or double bedroom, past which you get into a small room with wardrobe, a desk with one seat, an armchair, a balcony that overlooks the rear of the house, with the same picturesque Rome view, apart from another inner bathroom with tub.

The apartment has air-conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room.

Access to the private terrace is granted solely to Clock House's renters through an external flight of steps up to the top level by steps or elevator.

The terrace is equipped with a kitchenette to make breakfast or warm up food, and also a dining table with chairs.

Excellent Location, nice apartment

  • 4 of 5

We had a great experience with this property. It was well equipped and spacious enough for two couples. The location was perfect - close to everything and convenient. The welcome packet and information was helpful. At night, it is rather loud especially when the seagulls and other birds are vocal. We did not realize or understand the AC system but then realized it was unplugged (we wanted it as an option to cover the noise)...we finally realized the units were unplugged. We slept with windows open - but with the noise it was tough. One important note, we would have loved to use the terrace but it is not directly connected to the apartment as we expected. You need to go out the front door, up one flight of stairs further in the stairwell and through 2 sets of doors. It would be hard to lug stuff there with the keys and doors needed to access it. It is important to note that there is a ice shower in one bathroom and a very small tub in the other. It is lovely apartment overall and everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful.

Owner's Response: Hello Sara, I must say I am surprised after your comments here. I am sorry to learn that you had an issue with the air conditioning, since we had been in contact during your stay, and you hadn't mentioned that. Of course, I would have helped. We do unplug the units in winter because our guests don't usually need air conditioning at this time of the year, whereas the heating is on. Also, true: The terrace is one floor atop of the apartment, as written in the VRBO description. After I read yours, I checked with the current guests, who came in right after you; they said they have hot water in the shower. If I had known you didn't, I would have taken some action to make your time in Rome even greater. Emanuele

Charming, Spacious Apartment. Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Emanuele and Sara's apartment! Not only were there incredibly helpful with check-in, but were available on the phone when needed. The apartment itself is clean, charming, spacious, and in the perfect, central location for exploring Rome. I highly recommend!

Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed in this apartment for a week and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment is clean, comfortable, well maintained and centrally located. The street it is on is filled with nice shops and good restaurants. You can easily walk to many of the major tourist sites. The manager was very professional and accommodating in every way. I highly recommend this apartment. I will book this apartment again without hesitation on my next trip!

Wonderful apartment - I stayed in this apartment with a friend for six weeks and it was fabulous.

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I were in Rome for six weeks to study , to sight see and to visit with friends. Clock House was not only within walking distance to all the major tourist sites like the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Trevi Fountain, but Clock House in is in the historic center of Rome which has many wonderful restaurants and markets like the one at Piazza campo de' fiori as well as great places for shopping. Further, the apartment is also within walking distance to bus stops, the tram, a taxi stand, a grocery store and a pharmacy. The apartment itself has a large living room, a well-appointed kitchen and two bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment , each with an en-suite bathroom, and a private, roof-top terrace which is great for relaxing and get togethers with family and friends. The well-lit terrace has its own stove and refrigerator. The apartment has Wi-Fi, is quiet and perfect for guests who want to enjoy Rome's historic center. Home to Rome's personnel, Emanuele and Sara, will gladly arrange your travel to and from the airport and are there for you should any problem or question arise. It was essentially life made simple, abroad. From my experience, staying at Clock House added to many great memories of being in Rome.

I Wish I Could Have Stayed Longer

  • 5 of 5

Clock House is not only in the most central location in Rome - just down the block from the Piazza Navona, across a few steps from the Chiesa Nuova and five minutes quick walk to the Castel Sant'Angelo - but besides having location, location it is a beautiful apartment, perfect for my friend and me, who were on different schedules during the day and who each needed our private space. The apartment is on the next-to-the top floor, and there is an elevator, albeit one that requires a walk up a flight of stairs to use. The elevator does serve the roof level as well, something that makes entertaining guests on the roof terrace very convenient. Back to the apartment: entry is via s short corridor, into the large living room/dining room, and from there you can go left or right to the bedrooms. I elected the bedroom that had a separate room I used as a study and a place to have Italian lessons. The study also functioned as a guest room when a best friend stayed for a week. My apartment mate had her own bedroom, and each bedroom had its private full bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, large refrigerator, range top and oven. But I have saved the surprise for last: the rooftop terrace I mentioned earlier is private, i.e., only for this apartment, and has a magnificent view. And it has a fully-functioning kitchen! We spent many evenings alone or with friends enjoying that amazing amenity.
