About Jeff Nechanicky

committed professional New England couple that can't use their home due to work - interested in offering their home to others that might enjoy what we enjoy most about this region of New Hampshire. Winter sports - skiing and Mt. Sunapee - brought us to the region - year round activities and wonderful summers keep us here!

Jeff Nechanicky purchased this house in 2007

Why Jeff Nechanicky chose Lake Sunapee

The view out the back of the house of Mt. Sunapee's backside and Bear Hill are amazing when the sunsets over the mountain! Watching the snowstorms come in in the winter and the rain in the summer are truly unique and took sold us on the location immediately!

What makes this house unique

10 minutes to Mt. Sunapee for winter skiing and snowboarding, summer events and the new zip line adventure park are obvious. Not so obvious are the multiple lakes and stream within 5 to 30 minutes for all sorts of summer water sports activities make this a unique kick off site for all the region has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Jeff and Family,

My family and I would like to extend wishes to you and yours for a very Happy and joyous Easter Day. Easter spells out beauty. The rare beauty of new life. I wanted to thank you for allowing us to share your home in the hopes of having a relaxing and comfortable week.

Your home & all of its amenities have exceeded all expectations. Thank you very much. I look forward to renting again next year. The dog should have a blast as well. He is loving all of this fresh country air.

The girls and I met your neighbors down the road.. Joan and family. They have the sheep and sell eggs and maple syrup etc. at the farm stand. Good people. They invited the girls to come & visit the farm animals. The area is lovely and the home is warm, and inviting. We need and want for nothing.

This View is Breathtaking!

  • 5 of 5

When you walk into this home, you are stepping into a true traditional New England cabin home, and yet every modern amenity is there. The great room is stunning with it's AMAZING fire place plus the windows that simply showcase that amazing view. We had 4 little girls and 4 adults. Our girls immediately claimed the 4 Season porch as a play room, which worked out wonderful because we could always hear and see them at all time. Plus, they loved the little creek and spent hours playing around there, which allowed for the adults to enjoy the view and watch the kids. The house was meticulously clean which was a really great surprise. The house is perfectly located to Mt. Sunapee and lake Sunapee. The Owner Jeff was so wonderful to work with. He answered every question we had, his response time was less then 2 hours every time. We will be coming back for sure. I think we just started a new Columbus Day Weekend tradition. Thank you Jeff and Penny for letting us use your home. It's beautiful.

great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was a very enjoyable experience at beautiful Mt. Sunapee. The seven of us had plenty of room and were comfortable with this clean cozy home. The house was fully stocked and we found hiking and walking near by to keep us occupied. We all give it a big thumbs up and would gladly recommend it!

Good experience!

  • 5 of 5

This place was very comfortable and homey...a good fit for our family. There was plenty of room for each of us to have some private space, as well as a nice communal living area for together time. The deck is particularly pleasant! Lots of beautiful places to see in this region, without having to drive too far. And the owner was extremely helpful and prompt in getting back to any questions. We liked it. :-)

A perfect place for congregating, relaxing, and celebrating!

  • 5 of 5

This property is situated in the Sunapee region of New Hampshire. A short drive away sits Lake Sunapee as well as the eponymous mountain of the region. In addition to the local focal points, the house itself is a destination in and of itself. The view from the spacious back deck is a great backdrop for those staying at the property. The deck is a great place for grilling and chilling, which we spent quite a bit of time doing. As long as the stairs are blocked off, it is also a great open space for young ones to play as the slats in the railing are closely set apart. The home was clean and the instructions for using its amenities were clear and concise. Having four separate bedrooms was amazingly convenient.

Inside, the home is stocked with most necessaries and luxuries. Having a laundry set up on-site was a god-send. Having instant unlimited hot water meant no one went without a good shower. The basement fridge allowed the food to be stored upstairs and beverages below.

Off of the main living space (with the charming wood stove) sits a sun-room/sitting room that is a perfect place for kids to gather in the early morning or adults to gather late at night. It has two sliding doors (suggesting it was a later addition to the property) that dampen sound for the rest of the house.

There is a superabundance of good things to say about our experience staying at this house with friends and young kids. I invite you to experience them for yourself.

As for Jeff, he's a flexible and generous host. We actually mistakenly showed up a day early (due to total chaos in our schedule and my inability to keep pace). When I called Jeff (sheepishly), he was calm and cool. He simply permitted us to stay one extra day on the front end and billed me accordingly. It was excellent. When my wife forgot her sunglasses at the house, he let us return to get them. I see these as gestures significant of the whole experience of staying at this great home.

I cannot recommend staying here enough.

A wonderful place to relax

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time that we rented this home while participating in the annual Craftsmen's fair in nearby Sunapee, and it continues to be the perfect sanctuary after a busy day. Viewing every evening's sunset that overlooks the mountains to the west with a glass of wine was always a great treat! We also loved the expansiveness and comfort of the interior - especially since we live in a small 1200 Sq. ft. home with only one bathroom! Finally worth noting is how responsive, accommodating, and flexible the owner Jeff has always been. We are already planning to return to this home again next August if it is available.
