Both the location and the space were perfect for our stay! Although we didn't spend a significant amount of time at Pearly's Place, it is well-equipped with everything one needs for either a short- or long-term stay. The hosts were very attentive, both leading up to and during our stay. I would definitely consider renting Pearly's Place again, for any future trips to the Venice / Englewood / Manasota Key area.

Wonderful place to stay!

Maria and her husband were wonderful hosts. The rental was very clean and had all the amenities you need to make this a home away from home (we stayed just over a month). Make sure you take advantage of the closeness to the bike trails which connect to the Legacy Trail. Bikes are included in the rental!

Great place to stay in a beautiful area!

We had a great stay at Pearlys Place! We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 kids under 8. The accommodations were everything we has hoped for! We did a lot of cooking at home and had everything we needed. The home was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the beach items that were provided; towels, toys , bags and sand sifters, and the bikes were such a fun addition! The location was perfect, we were moments away from the beach and all of the other things we wanted to do. Thank you so much for everything and we will be back!

Great Property

Maira and David are great property managers. They were available to answer questions and want their guest to have the best time. They were very attentive. The house is clean and very cute. We could not ask for a better stay and will look into using the house again.

Family Vacation

Our trip to Pearly’s Place was AMAZING! After being indoors for the past year, 2 weeks in Florida is just what we needed! We were so impressed with this home… it had everything we could have asked for, all the comforts of home in beautiful Venice. Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, towels, bikes, beach chairs…. It was an A+ property. And Maria & Dave were awesome. Checking in with us, sending us texts, even checked to make sure we got home safely to Connecticut. That’s what family does and we all felt like family at Pearly’s Place. We were so sad to leave but we absolutely will be back!!! Maria & Dave thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Pearly’s Place

We rented Pearly’s Place for the month of March 2021. The home was very clean and extremely comfortable. Maria and David were so accommodating, calling to see if we needed anything to make our stay more comfortable, the home had everything that you would need.( your home away from home). The location was close to the beaches, restaurants and downtown Venice. Friendly neighbors. Maria and Dave were so thoughtful they texted us after we left to see if we had a safe trip home. Perfect Vacation

This property is perfect! Close to everything, beaches, shopping and great food. You can even just opt to stay home for the day and enjoy the yard and house to relax. Maria and David were the best hosts, their home is the perfect home away from home. We are already planning to go back (if only we could go back sooner) next summer with friends.

We Love Pearly's Place!

Our family enjoyed a fantastic week at Pearly's Place!The owners, Maria and David Cook have created a beautiful beach home away from home experience in Venice, Florida. Their house is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and was close to everything we needed during our stay. Great free public beaches, restaurants, even a Walmart were only a few minutes drive from Pearly's Place. We loved the clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable accommodations. From the moment we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with Pearly's Place. The owners were very responsive to our questions and offered guidance when we needed advice about the area. We had such a great week we did not want to leave. In fact we stayed one additional night before we had to say goodbye. We loved this house so much we have already inquired about staying at Pearly's Place again for our next vacation. I hope your family enjoys this property as much as ours did. A CHARMING, VERY NEAT AND TIDY HOME

Jim and I brooked this home for a month and a half, so we were delighted to arrive and find such a charming home that was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Maria has done a wonderful job supplying the kitchen with paper products and spices and oils. And thank goodness, because halfway through our visit, the Covid-19 virus struck and we were much more homebound than we expected to be. It was so nice to be in a pleasant and comfortable environment. We have only one issue, and for some it may not be a problem. We would have liked a patio or lanai to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee or a BBQ dinner along with the beautiful weather. Yes, there is a backyard but it is not conducive to leisure activities. That said, Maria and David could not have been nicer or more helpful. We were not in want of anything, really, but we knew they were there to help if we needed them. Patty & Jim

Wonderful stay at Pearly's Place

We had a wonderful February 2020 month stay at Pearly's Place. The HOME is just like the photos show online; bright, cheerful and very clean. It felt like a home and not just a house. Everything is very organized, including an entire notebook of information for guests to see different activities such as the many beaches, restaurants/menus, parks and stores in the area. This had to take a lot of time and thought on the owners part. The owners were very caring and checked on us often to make sure we were comfortable. They quickly responded with any questions Lots of extras included a water cooler in the garage, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach bags and toys books, puzzles, games, well stocked kitchen, and nice fluffy towels. Conveniently located in a very quiet neighborhood and close to restaurants, downtown, shopping centers, and lots of beaches, all with different personalities. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are looking forward to staying there again.

Pearly’s Place was perfect for our family

We stayed here for six nights with our family of five enjoying every minute of our vacation and shark teeth hunting expeditions. Pearlys Place has been remodeled and updated with nice furniture, comfortable beds, everything is fresh and updated. Beautiful decor with personal touches from the homeowner. There are some beach toys, puzzles in the house, and other small touches that made staying here very easy. The homeowners are extremely responsive to any questions or needs that you may have. With several children in tow, we did not want to stay at a busier, more touristy location or with loud nightlife. This home is set in a quiet residential area where the only noise was the beautiful birds playing in the backyard. It was only a short drive to many of the local beaches in the Venice area and near many good eateries and bakeries (we fell in love with Yummies donuts). The only hiccup we had, which was quite minor, was the cleaning service could’ve done a better job cleaning the floors, sheets and quilts on the beds. But that is an easy fix since the house itself is in great shape with nicer newer furniture and housewares. We would absolutely stay again!

Amazing

Wow is all I can say! This house was so beautifully laid out! The location is great for just about anything. Multiple, beautiful beaches just a 5-10 minute drive away! We spent most of our time at the beaches, hunting for sharks teeth, and collecting shells. We visited the Big Cat Habitat, and went on a Dolphin tour with Lemon Bay tours, we saw dolphins playing, and jumping along side the boat, it was fantastic! Maria was amazing, any question we had she was quick to respond, and checked in on us even when we returned home to make sure we arrived safely! I highly recommend this property, and we hope to be back again soon!~ Shannon

Great house, fabulous decor, everything you need in a home away from home!

Maria was super easy to work with and made sure our visit was seamless. The booking was simple, we were able to check in late at our own convenience. The house was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated right down to the original artwork on the walls. The location was convenient to every place we wanted to go, including some amazing beaches. The furnishings were new and comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked and there was even a grill for outdoor cooking. We loved our stay, it truly felt like our own home away from home. Beautiful home-wonderful experience!

My husband and I had a lovely time in Venice staying at Pearly’s Place. Maria was a gracious hostess and extremely accommodating. The house is quiet, immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need as we enjoy cooking at home. As a side note, we loved visiting the Big Cat Habitat Gulf Coast Sanctuary. It is only a half an hour from Venice and a must visit for anyone who loves animals. We highly recommend staying at this home and will definitely contact Maria again when we make our next trip to Venice. Olivia B.

Run, Run Away!!! Do not stay here!! These people are horrible!!

These people have no idea what they are doing. And they are nasty, angry, and just awful especially if you have a concern or question. We have stayed in several homes over the last 20 years in Venice. Never have we seen or been treated like these people do. Don't use them! don't go here! They have no business renting a home. We arrived to the trash overflowing everywhere. They just leave the previous renters trash there for you to deal with. It was disgusting. The house is literally empty of small needed supplies. No toilet paper, no cleaning supplies, nothing. The house is decorated but with very few useful items. Once outside there was not even a chair to sit on. We had to go and buy our own. Who goes to Florida to stay in the house? There is a small garage but the garage door opener does not work so it was useless. Nothing in the house is handicap accessible. Not even a grab bar in the bath. My mom slipped coming out of the tub and almost fell. No safety here at all. Then to top it off the air conditioning went out and instead of spending money on a service tech they asked us to try to fix it. And the best part was the smoke detectors were going off in the middle of the night because no maintenance again had been done so the batteries were low. We had to leave early because it was 90° in the house with no air conditioning. When we called the owner he ended up screaming at us that it was all our fault. Stay away from these people. They come off nice when they want your money but if you have any questions they yell you. After we leave Dave, the owner, tries to blame my 88-year-old mom for "stealing" a five dollar beach bag and a silly little pillow. We buy cleaning supplies, home supplies, and furniture and we "steal "a beach bag? Really? They also invented "stains' on the couch on us. Again, there were no stains when we left. Probably under the cushion that they flipped over. And he screams at you on the phone! Who does that after someone has paid them thousands of dollars to stay there? Do not rent from these people. You will regret it!

Charming Coastal Home!

Vibrant original artwork by owner Maria and new furnishings make this coastal home décor so charming! Attention to cleanliness, organization, and guest comfort are so obvious, and location is ideal to enjoy all of the amenities that Venice has to offer. We appreciated the 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, attached garage, two televisions (husband is a golfer), washer, dryer, grill, Ferry pass, security, and beach essentials. David and Maria are so gracious, and we consider ourselves lucky that they shared their beautiful home with us so we could escape the winter snow. We are missing the sand between our toes!

David and Maria live in Maryland, but visit Florida often. Both of their children and grandson live in different parts of Florida so visiting Venice is always a joyful time. Maria has been an art teacher in Maryland for 26 years. David is an investigator for the state of Maryland but his passion is food. In his younger years he worked in restaurants and though he no longer works in that industry, he is an amazing chef. In their spare time, Maria and David love doing home improvements for themselves and for others. They have a small side business in Maryland called A House Beautiful (https://www.ahousebeautiful.com/). Maria is visual so she loves transforming spaces and David is the contractor. David and Maria visit their children, their spouses, and their precious grandson as often as they can. They love biking, swimming in the warm gulf waters, warm weather, and being outdoors. They also love hosting Pearly's Place. They bought Pearly's in 2017 and have rented it both seasonally and year-round. Seasonally has been their preference as it offers them the chance to get to know people from all over the world and in some cases help people who are looking for a beautiful but affordable place to stay while enjoying the magnificence of Venice and the entire gulf coast. David and Maria purchased their home after several vacations to the gulf area. They love that it's part of a neighborhood of friendly people and its proximity to the water. Their house is a five minute drive to Manasota Beach. The nightly sunsets there are breathtaking and every day is a new adventure, whether you’re biking, shopping, beaching, dolphin watching, visiting parks and animal sanctuaries, enjoying museums and galleries, enjoying restaurants, or just cooking at home. Beaches along the gulf can be busy with visitors like Siesta Key or quiet and untouched like South Venice Beach, accessible only by ferry. David and Maria love that there are so many beach options within a five mile radius. David and Maria were blessed that their house sustained minimal damage during Milton but thankfully their home improvement skills were put to work. Floridians are resilient and manage to bounce right back when weather events happen and Venice is bustling again. If you've never traveled to Venice, it has a beautiful downtown with boutiques and restaurants, gorgeous beaches, and is less than an hour and a half from many other great places to adventure like Tampa, St. Petersburg, Boca Grande, Anna Maria Island, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island and more. David and Maria's guests share many of their adventures with them including dolphin tours, deep sea fishing, golfing and shark teeth hunting. The list goes on. Ultimately, David and Maria love hearing about their guest's adventures.

Pearly's Place is near the beach, it's very comfortable (the beds are perfect), and is perfectly sized for couples and small families. It can easily accommodate an extra guest or two for a weekend visit. With three bedrooms, two baths, fresh decor, colorful art, and bright, clean, sunny rooms, Pearly's Place is truly a home away from home. The house is low maintenance, so your time can be spent doing the things you love. It is just a mile from the South Venice boat ramp, a few minutes from Manasota Beach, and a quick drive to just about everything. It's in a quiet, residential neighborhood yet it is very private with fencing and palm trees surrounding it. If you like biking like David and Maria do, Shamrock Park is a two mile ride and leads to Venetian Waterway that runs along the intracoastal leading into Legacy Trail which can take you all the way to Sarasota! Save money and eat at home if you like; you’ll have everything you need to prepare great dinners as if you were home. There's a grill in the back so make it a steak (Maria's favorite!) or maybe Halibut (David's favorite!) Mahi Mahi is local, look for it at Detwilers. If you don't feel like cooking, there are so many great local restaurants to choose from. David and Maria enjoy restaurants with a view and some of their favorites are Sharky's, Nokomo's Sunset Hut, Dockside Grill, The Crow's Nest, and Snook Haven. Sarasota has great restaurants too and it's a half an hour away.
