About Bruce Johnson
Hello! My name is Bruce. Welcome to New Orleans. I personally renovated my home in 2006.
Bruce Johnson purchased this House in 2005
Why Bruce Johnson chose Algiers Point
The home is located in historic Algiers Point, the second oldest settlement in New Orleans.
What makes this House unique
My home is an economical alternative to the French Quarter, and yet is just a five block walk or drive to the Algiers/Canal Street Car/Passenger Ferry. Historic Algiers Point is a quiet alternative to the fast French Quarter pace, and yet close enough to enjoy the full benefits of the French Quarter and all of New Orleans.

Property is in a great location for commuting over to New Orleans on the ferry for families. If you are looking to go partying having to take ferry is not a good idea because the last run is not very late. House is very spacious. Little dated but clean. Neighborhood was safe. We had no issues walking to ferry.
Great house in a Great Location
My first impression of the house was Bruce reaching out to explain a little bit of what to expect. My wife and kids all found the beds comfortable. Bruce had towels and a kitchen that had a few pots and pans where we made one meal. We used the washer/dryer to clean clothes after the cruse.
The neighborhood is quiet and filled with things to do. There is a little kids park a couple lots down and two coffee shops on the block around the corner and a grocer within walking distance. The ferry is very close and we walked to a nice pizza joint just near there. A great location, a great owner, and great accomadations.
The property was nice. The beds were comfy. It's very roomy lots of space to move around.
The property was close to the Ferry. The neighborhood was quaint, close to a couple cafes and pubs all with in walking distance. We enjoyed our stay there. Bruce was very accommodating and easily reachable. I would recommend this place.
Perfect space for our group
Our group absolutely loved this house. It was within an easy walk to a delicious coffee shop and the ferry. The owner was nice enough to give us an extra hour on our last day to make sure we had packed everything without rushing. I’ve noticed that most houses in the area only have one bathroom and we were totally prepared to share between the 5 of us, but we wondered if there would be any possibility to put a door between the shower and toilet, that way someone can be showering and the toilet is still available to the rest of the guest, just a thought our group had pointed out.
Our stay was perfect, thanks again for everything!
Great price and close to downtown!
Great place to stay in New Orleans. Cheap uber to downtown. We did have a light go out but he fixed it for us. I’d recommend and hope to be back!
Beautiful historic neighborhood
We loved the neighborhood. A lot of beautiful old homes that have been restored to their former glory. Very quiet and clean. The walk to the ferry was great. Lots of interactions with friendly neighbors and a lot of cats that wanted petting! The unit itself was clean and the beds we're incredibly comfortable. My only negative comment would be that I think the people staying in the upstairs unit had smaller children that you could hear running around quite early. Not much you can do. We're grandparents ourselves so we know where you have kids you'll have noise.Overall we enjoyed our stay.
My home is a five (5) block walk or drive to the Algier's Point/Canal Street Ferry. A five minute ferry ride to The base of the French Quarter leaves you by Harrah's Casino, Riverwalk Mall, Canal Mall & Cinema, and a short walk to all of the French Quarter.
