3 Bedroom/2 Bath Home With Everything! 2-6 guests
This home has three bedrooms, two full tiled baths, a large kitchen, living room/dining room, a family room and separate laundry room. It has a big front deck with mountain views and flowering container plants everywhere. The deck is shaded by a big apricot tree, just delightful on a hot afternoon. There is also a back covered portal/patio with table and chairs, BBQ and of course more plants. There is ample parking and surrounding garden spaces. A fun addition is 'The bunkhouse' a perfect spot for the young or young at heart. The home sleeps 2-6 in beds. There is also a family room sofa sleeper and bunk house sleeps two. The Bunk house is summer lodging although there is a heater and electric mattress pads...
The home is furnished with my antiques, consignment store and yard sale treasures, original art, folk art pieces and my whimsical style throughout. All bedding, towels, kitchen supplies and appliances are new and inviting.
If all this is not enough, my home is a five minute walk through a pleasant historic neighborhood to the downtown Plaza area with shops, galleries and restaurants.
There is an additional one bedroom casita on the property (separate parking and fenced for privacy) which will sleep two(vrbo 490376.) If you choose to also rent this casita this Compound can sleep 6 guests in beds. A truly perfect getaway for 2- 6 guests!
If Casa Madre is booked for your dates please look at Casa Grande Vrbo 860840 which is another one of my homes. Also three bedrooms and two baths and walking distance to the Plaza.

Taos Family Christmas - 2017
We had a lovely time during our stay! The accommodations were perfect for our family of five. Three bedrooms and two living areas helped give everyone their space. The gas heaters would keep the house warm and cozy. We enjoyed the 15-minute walk to the plaza to do some shopping and visiting the Kit Carson Museum. We used the grill one night, and Melissa had provided plenty of supplies for our use. We also ended up purchasing paper goods for meals due to no dishwasher. Another couple would join us for meals, so washing seven plates was a lot to clean. We would definitely stay here again.
An enjoyable stay.
Our group of 4 ladies enjoyed our stay at Casa Madre. The décor in this spacious house had a touch of whimsy and some fun and interesting art works and objects.
The house was very clean and the beds and linens were quite comfortable. One of us even took advantage of the bunkhouse and enjoyed the patter of the rain on the tin roof.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glassware and most of the basics one would need for cooking.
We loved the porches even though it was really too cool to enjoy (had some coffee there in the morning when the sun came up).
Improvement could be made in the lighting throughout the whole house. The kitchen in particular is very dark at night even though there are 2 overhead lights. The picture shows a bright countertop so wondering if we missed some under the counter lighting?
We were also a little taken aback after paying $100 cleaning fee to be instructed to wash all the dishes, take out the garbage, and strip all the beds before we left.
So glad you enjoyed my home for your ladies getaway. Yes the outdoor spaces are delightful in clement weather.
Actually I think the living/dining room is quite well lit. One floor lamp, three table lamps and an overhead ceiling light.
The kitchen is well lit at night with under cabinet LED lights. Looks like a airstrip. There is a switch on kitchen wall with a note that this is the switch for under cabinet lights. Seems to work well for most guests...
The information on the refrigerator for departure is there because so many guests ask what they can do on morning of departure. No guest is "instructed" to do any of this. These are simply requests. Personally I cannot imagine leaving a sink full of dirty dishes or a kitchen garbage can with my garbage in it, but that's just me...
Lovely place to stay in Taos
Very nice property with two verandas - in the historic section on Taos. Good beds in large bedrooms and OK bed in small bedroom. Perfect for two couples, but could accommodate an additional couple. A small writing cabin with bunk beds great for kids. Unusual and interesting décor - whimsical and enjoyable. Lots of plants. Ate on the kitchen patio every evening and had drinks on the front veranda - very civilized! Quite neighborhood. No sidewalks and narrow lanes, so be very careful when walking to the plaza.
Thanks for the review and glad you njoyed your stay. Guests always enjou the two outside living areas and my gardens. I provide flashlights in case you want to walk to or from Plaza at night.
We enjoyed staying on this property. Lots of room with a cozy feel. Clean and fully stocked with all needed items including lighter fluid and charcoal for the grill.
Great house great location very comfortable
Short and sweet, but hits the high points. A very nice home in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to the Plaza where you feel relaxed and comfortable on vacation
Very Nice! Excellent Location!
Great Spot! Loved the house, well decorated, fabulous back patio and front porch! Very relaxing with a big barbecue (charcoal) to cook some steak and veggies on. Weather was awesome, monsoon rains in the afternoon and cool in the morning. Brought the wife, kids and grandparents up! Everybody loved it! Super Green!
Hi and thanks for your review. Looks like you made the most of your short visit with family. Glad you liked decor and all amenities. Yes the front deck and covered back patio are great outdoor spaces and you get a front row seat for our summer monsoons there. It's always hard to believe you are as close to the Plaza as this is such a quiet residential neighborhood.
So much to do in Taos whether your interests are outdoor adventures (ski, snowboard, white water rafting, hiking) cultural events (6 museums, lecture series) shopping (numerous, fun shops in walking distance) art galleries (Numerous galleries on Ledoux Street, Kit Carson Rd., Bent Street--all in walking distance) Many restaurants within walking distance
