Old Town Eureka offers plenty to explore within walking distance, including museums, local art galleries, unique shops, and great restaurants, as well as historic landmarks like the Clarke Historical Museum and the beautifully restored Eagle House—and just one block away, you can enjoy a lovely happy hour at the elegant Carter House Inn.

The area is also a perfect base for exploring the majestic Redwood National and State Parks, visiting scenic North Coast beaches, and enjoying seasonal whale watching, with gray whales typically migrating past the coast from December through April and again October through November.
